Actually, I’m not terribly interested in understanding the alt-right as a movement; what I find fascinating is the evolution of the term itself. There are two wildly different definitions being applied, and I believe that the left is using that confusion of terms, intentionally and with malice aforethought, to denigrate a large portion of the population as racist, right-wing oppressors.

The people who are actually on the Right but opposed to the current Crustocrat establishment prefer the term Dissident Right. Steve Sailer, Stacy McCain, John Derbyshire, and ZMan come immediately to mind.

It was only after the election that word began to filter out about an earlier, original definition for the term. We found out that the name was originally coined by a guy named Richard Spencer, the leader of a very specific, fringe group of white nationalists. Looking at their actual policy proposals, in that case alt-right seemed to refer more to being, well … leftist. It is a variant of socialism, essentially identical to several other identity-based movements in this country, populated by people who are black or Hispanic. But, while all those other movements are considered left-wing, this group, apparently for no other reason than them being white, are labeled as part of the right.

‘Alt-right’ is one of those slur-terms that the Left creates by reflex; like most such terms, it means ‘person I dislike who disagrees with me and is therefore an evil monster OMG WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!’.

But as our gimlet-eyed friend who runs Neo-neocon notes, Ocasio-Cortez boasts of graduating fourth in her classfrom Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences with a dual degree in  . . . economics and international relations. Let that sink in. Fourth in her class, and she’s a blithering idiot on both economics and international relations. If she’s the fourth-ranked graduate from BU’s College of Arts and Sciences, I’d hate to see who came out on the bottom. If BU has any self-awareness at all, they ought to be asking themselves “What went wrong?”

Donald Trump’s win in the Presidential election of 2016 may not have been technically a landslide, but it was far from close; nevertheless, the people who Just Can’t Believe That Dick Won have been doing their best ever since to overturn the result. The essential characteristic of ‘social justice’ is that it isn’t justice, it’s a perversion of outcomes to favor a particular political side that is called ‘justice’ because distorting the language (a) makes them feel good about themselves and (b) is a well-polished tool in their political playbook. Giving special privileges to black people just because of their skin color isn’t justice, it’s racism straight up. Refusing to enforce the law against illegal immigrants isn’t justice. Forcing people to do things contrary to their religious beliefs to serve a political agenda isn’t justice. Every political machine in every big city that had one (and has one) was and is run by Democrats — just look at Chicago, Detroit, and New York.

The core belief of the Democrat party is ‘force everybody to do it our way’. Every policy promoted or piece of legislation introduced by a Democrat is designed to reduce individual liberty. No, you can’t sell what you want; you have to sell what we allow you to sell. No, you can’t refuse to sell particular products or to particular people; you have to sell what we tell you to sell to the people we tell you to. No, you can’t charge what you want to rent that apartment; you have to charge what we tell you to charge. No, you can’t start a business without jumping through the hoops we require and paying us for the privilege. No, you can’t keep the money you earn, you can only keep what we allow you to, and you’d by-God better thank us for the privilege.

Democrats fail to act according to the Constitution in almost every respect. They are, at their core, as part of their essential nature, un-American.

It turns out that Artificial Intelligence programs are designed to (shock) learn from experience.

And sometimes that ‘learning from experience’ causes them to profile black people as potential criminals.

This is the Blue Whale in the bathtub. For say, teenage males, the difference in criminal propensity between African-Americans and Asian-Americans is between one and two orders of magnitude. If you reduce AI’s dependence on “ethnicity, gender, income,” you are pretty much dead in the water when it comes to public safety, especially if “age” gets added to the list as another “sensitive attribute.” Everything else, such as measuring the body language of the individuals or their vocabularies, will have massive Disparate Impact problems.

Well, we can’t have that. Forget Science, we want Diversity! Even if we all get mugged and murdered because of it.

The problem is that when it comes to crime, reality is biased.

Reality is what sticks around even after you pretend it isn’t there.
