Our allies across the pond in the UK are having just as much fun with woke propaganda as we are in the states. The Daily Mail caught the National Health Service red-handed removing the words “women” and “woman” from their page on menopause despite ministers promise to tone down woke language, as they reported June 28.

Ann Coulter provides some adult supervision.
I gather from the recent hysteria that the Supreme Court has just ordered all 72 million American women of childbearing age to get pregnant and carry the baby to term.
This is big news, if true. I’m not at all surprised that every female journalist, activist and politician is threatening to burn down the Supreme Court over its decision last Friday in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
On the other hand, even accepting the abortion cult’s belief that members of the weaker sex are incapable of either keeping their knees together or mastering birth control, I still only count about 100,000 women who won’t have easy access to abortions without Roe v. Wade.

Several decades ago I subscribed to Bon Appetit magazine. In those days, it was all about good food, consisting of articles about, and recipes from, excellent restaurants.
But, as in so many areas of contemporary life, those days are gone. Bon Appetit survives–barely, I think–but its primary mission these days seems to be wokeness. Check out the magazine’s InstaGram feed to see what I mean.

Calls have rung out across the nation demanding gun control laws in a bid to curb violent crimes such as the recent series of mass shootings. Data, however, show that in states with higher percentages of households with at least one gun, crimes are not higher than in states with strict gun laws.
“Gun ownership is higher in states with fewer restrictions, and homicide rates in these states are lower. People can protect themselves,” George Mason University Professor Emerita Joyce Lee Malcolm told Fox News Digital of what she’s found through her research. Malcolm pointed to a study on burglars from 1986 that found 34% of burglars interviewed reported “to having been scared off, shot at, wounded or captured by an armed victim.”

This year is the 20th anniversary of the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA, and I think it’s safe to say that nobody enjoys waiting in the airport security line. And in the post-9/11 world, things like PreCheck are the great innovation of the department.
At least according to Dan McCoy, who is the TSA’s chief innovation officer, who told me that PreCheck is “a hallmark government innovation program.”
But what do programs like PreCheck and the larger surveillance apparatus that theoretically keep us safe mean for the choices we make? What do we give up to get into the shorter security line, and how comfortable should we be about that?
Government favoring one class of people over another is the very definition of ‘privilege’.

The war on history came for all our past, from Columbus to the Founding Fathers to Abraham Lincoln.
Now, college campuses appear to be conducting mop-up operations.
The College Fix reports that officials removed a bust of Lincoln from a Cornell University library exhibit after somebody complained.
“Someone complained, and it was gone,” Cornell University biology professor Randy Wayne said, according to The College Fix.
After all, he was a Republican and therefore presumably a racist.

Joe Biden may have once bragged about his cooperative relations with segregationists, but he still arguably owes more to African-American leadership and voters than any politician in recent history. After all, it was black voters who bequeathed him the two critical victories in South Carolina and Georgia that led to his nomination in 2020. Perhaps that’s why he promised in his inaugural address to focus on the “sting of systemic racism” and fight encroaching “white supremacy.”
Adding action to rhetoric, Biden has embraced brazenly discriminatory policies that Barack Obama would likely have been too savvy to impose openly: special assistance to prospective black homeowners, race-based support for black farmers and black businesses, and attempts to end inflation by promoting “equity” in the financial sector through intrusive regulation.
Yet while Biden has placed racialism — making race a decisive factor in public decisions — at the heart of his political programme, in reality minorities may not prove the Castroite fifth column dreamed up by either the far-Right or their leftist doppelgängers. Minorities are more than genetic constructs; they are people with ambitions, families, and budgets. And sadly, Biden’s policies are not making their lives any better.

It quickly became clear that one of Hutchinson’s most shocking claims was either misremembered or an outright lie. She claimed that Tony Ornato, White House deputy chief of staff for operations, and Bobby Engel, who headed Trump’s security detail, told her that Trump had attempted to grab the steering wheel of a Secret Service vehicle to redirect it to the Capitol on January 6. When agents refused, Trump allegedly assaulted them.
Secret Service sources said that both the driver of the vehicle and Engel had heard this allegation for the first time during Hutchinson’s testimony and were prepared to testify under oath that it was not true. Fox News reported that a source close to Ornato said he was similarly shocked to hear Hutchinson’s account and would also confirm it was not true. A spokesperson for the Secret Service said that the January 6 Committee didn’t even bother to reach out to them to confirm the story before having Hutchinson testify publicly on Tuesday.
Of course not. The last thing you want at a show trial is the light of reality.

Clinton stooge Robert Reich has just as much of a sordid record in his coverage on the inflation crisis as leftist economist Paul Krugman.
The former Secretary of Labor tried to swat down any concerns that President Joe Biden’s gargantuan $1.9 trillion stimulus was rife with inflationary pressures that could send the economy off the rails. “Larry Summers is dead wrong that Biden’s plan would be inflationary. The economy has huge unused capacity,” Reich squealed against former President Barack Obama’s former National Economic Council director in a Feb. 5, 2021 tweet. Summers sounded the alarm bells about a potential inflation crisis caused by the Biden stimulus since February 2021. But Reich was intent on dismissing inflation as a fiction, stating emphatically that Biden’s plan didn’t go far enough:

Since it debuted in 2016, The Donald Trump Show — the televised meta-commentary from hell we’ve all been living in — has been through many reinventions. Its first season was a tautly plotted election thriller that managed to make the impossible seem possible; its middling stretches were a darkly comic take on The West Wing. It even proved later on that it could continue without its main character, introducing a new president, Joe Biden, who ushered in elements of slapstick humor and cringe comedy.
Now, with last night’s episode, The Donald Trump Show has veered into Kiefer Sutherland territory.

Two illegal immigrants have been arrested for their alleged role in the deaths of more than 50 migrants in San Antonio.
Prosecutors filed criminal complaints against two Mexican nationals on Tuesday evening in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, charging the men with illegal possession of a firearm “by an alien illegally in the United States.” The two men first entered the country on a travel visa but never returned to Mexico following its expiration.
Police arrested the men following an investigation into the registration of the semi-truck containing dozens of migrants, most of whom died from dehydration and exhaustion and were found by a nearby pedestrian. At least 51 of the migrants found in the truck have died—the worst migrant death incident ever recorded in the United States.

I’m impressed.
It is a good thing these facts are only known by a third hand report from a second hand source from hearsay evidence in a “hearing” that is neither oversight nor legislative investigation, hence which has no jurisdiction, nor lawful province, nor constitutional authorization, and operates one-sidedly without nor habeas corpus, nor cross examination, nor confrontation of witnesses.

Friday evening’s Arizona State Senate session had to be cut short as the legislative body came under siege from Abortion Insurrection rioters.
“We have a security threat outside,” Senate President Karen Fann announced. Legislators were evacuated into the basement and then had to be evacuated once again from the basement after tear gas fumes being used to stop the insurrectionists entered the building.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that a pro-abortion rally by “an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 people” turned into “anarchical and criminal actions by masses of splinter groups” who “attempted to breach the doors of the Arizona Senate and force their way into the building. The violence of their efforts literally shook the building”.

I tuned in for quite a bit of today’s January 6 committee hearing with “surprise” witness Cassidy Hutchinson, and it was gripping viewing indeed. Many of the things she related in her videotaped deposition (excerpted liberally in her committee room appearance) sounded plausible, such as alleged statements by Trump on January 6. And Hutchinson seemed a credible witness.
But second thoughts ought to grow in the aftermath of her appearance. Most of her direct testimony was about her interactions with chief of staff Mark Meadows for whom she served as an assistant (save this thought). And I did note that in her videotaped deposition she kept referring to a notebook in front of her, suggesting that her answers were prepared ahead of time. I don’t think that’s how depositions are supposed to go, even for congressional committees.
The whole point of a show trial is to present the Party Line as if it were the unvarnished truth. That she had ‘prepared answers’ doesn’t surprise me a bit.

So, Joe Biden goes to the G7 where Boris Johnson pleads with him to stop ethanol production from grain in order to avoid worldwide food shortages. Biden refuses. Obviously, Biden has no concern for adequate nutrition for the globe. Let them eat CO2-depleted air. Or drink ethanol.
Given that burning ethanol produces a mere 4% less CO2 than burning gasoline per gallon, a reasonable person would ask why. And that doesn’t even include the CO2 produced by the fermentation of grains to produce the alcohol. Or the depletion of our fossil water resources on the Great Plains to produce the ethanol. Or the CO2 required from fossil fuels to plant, grow (and the fossil fuels that provide the fertilizers), and harvest the grain. Or the CO2 production from transporting large quantities of ethanol. And etc., and etc. It seems to me that there may actually be a net disadvantage to using ethanol compared to gasoline. The situation may be different in Brazil, where sugar cane is used rather than corn or other grains.

“I was wondering if we should have a separate section on low-carb diets rather than burying it,” wrote Harvard nutrition professor Frank Hu about the official expert report for the 2015 U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Over the past decade, thousands of scientists, doctors and others have urged officials overseeing our nation’s nutrition policy to pay attention to studies on low-carbohydrate diets, yet even as the science has advanced rapidly, the federal agencies in charge of the guidelines seem ever-more intent on ignoring and yes, burying the science.
The literature on low-carb is now vast. A quick search for “low-carbohydrate” on pubmed.gov, a government database of scientific studies, today turns up 7,821 publications, including 858 clinical trials (the most rigorous kind of evidence).12 Compare this to the 401 trials on the “vegetarian diet,” which has been formally recommended by the U.S. guidelines since 2015.

Airships could help speed up the delivery of aid in disaster zones, carry air cargo much more cheaply than air freighters, and cut aviation emissions. However, similar projects in the past have struggled to overcome the complex engineering challenges involved, and have either run out of money, or left potential customers disillusioned.
“Flying an airship is unlike flying any other aircraft because it’s lighter than air and floats, instead of sinks, when you put the power at idle,” says Andrea Deyling, a pilot and director of airship operations of Brin’s airship company, LTA Research. “There’s also a sense of wonder people have when they see a lighter-than-air vehicle flying overhead. LTA Research is building a unique airship and I can’t wait to get into the actual aircraft and fly it.”

Arizona will enact the nation’s most expansive school voucher bill, allowing all parents to decide where their children will attend school.
The bill, which allows Arizona families to take their children out of public school and puts public funds into Empowerment Scholarship Accounts, also known as education savings accounts (ESAs), that families can use for homeschooling or private-school tuition, last week passed the state House and Senate. Governor Doug Ducey (R.) has said he will sign the bill, which will expand the number of students who can use savings accounts from 10,000 to more than 1 million. As the program stands now, only students who are disabled, in failing schools, or in military families can access the savings accounts.

More than 650,000 people have fled California since Gavin Newsom took office, many returning to the Dust Bowl homelands their forebears abandoned for the coast. The Democratic governor has called reports of an exodus “greatly exaggerated,” though inaccurate may be the better word: only 600,000 Jews fled Egypt. More than 200 companies ditched California in his first thirty months in office and, much like Newsom’s ex-wife, they’re heading for Trump country. Ever the optimist, Newsom says the solution to population depletion is to guarantee abortion up to the moment of birth. He’s even offered tax breaks to companies that relocate from pro-life states.
Newsom’s efforts are doomed to fail, according to Stephen Soukup, a veteran financial analyst and publisher of The Political Forum. “There’s no way anyone is going to pack up and move to California where the business climate is so hostile,” he says. “Aside from Planned Parenthood, no one is saying, ‘abortion is the key to my business.’” If only Newsom had picked up a copy of Soukup’s book, The Dictatorship of Woke Capital, he’d have known Big Business would preempt him.
