Zinke Is Shipping the Headquarters of the Largest Land-Owning Agency Out of DC
20th July 2018
Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is making plans to move the headquarters of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) out of Washington, D.C., to a city in the West.
Excellent move. With modern technology, there is no reason for all of these Federal bureaucrats to work in D.C.
I’m thinking that Helena, Montana, would be a good location for BLM.
Flint, Michigan, would be appropriate for the EPA.

40% of the oil in the nation flows through Houston. EPA Region 6 is in Dallas.
EPA has an “out of DC” office in Research Triangle Park, NC. Beautiful place; not near Flint.
Not to be totally negative, there is one agency located where the action is: The U.S. Coast Guard. They do a great job protecting the nation against terrorists, smugglers, polluters, etc. Not surprising: they hate EPA.

All Right Thinking People hate the EPA. The EPA is one of the reasons that Richard M. Nixon will burn in Hell for all eternity.

The part of the general populace that actually pays any attention to the EPA may very well develop some hatred, but those of us who actually have to deal with the agency on a daily basis develop genuine and deep seated feelings of frustration and hatred.
Industrial facilities that border navigable waters of the US are required to file spill plans with the Coast Guard. They insist that you very, very plainly and clearly mark the last valve inside containment. Everything after that point is under Coast Guard authority. The reason you have to mark it so clearly is so when the dolts from the EPA show up at some pollution event, the Coast Guard can show them exactly where their authority ends and force them to stay out of CG business.
