Progressive Group MoveOn: ‘Low Wages Are Violence’
21st July 2018
As George Orwell illustrated in his classic novel 1984, one of the things that proglodytes are always doing is re-defining words to mean what they want them to mean in place of what they actually do mean.
The prevalence of the phrase ‘gay marriage’ is a good example. The prevalence of the term ‘capitalism’ is another.
The technique doesn’t originate with Marx, of course, but with Proudhon, who said ‘All property is theft’, the equivalent of saying ‘All life is murder’; nonsense on its face, but the sort of nonsense that soi-disant intellectuals love because it makes them feel smarter than all the unwashed out there.
