In an attempt to ease campus “tension” following Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is slated to bring a series of guest speakers to campus—including one who endorsed Hamas terrorism as an act of lawful “resistance.”

As part of its “Standing Together Against Hate” initiative, MIT is slated to hold a March 18 talk on Islamophobia featuring Boston University antibigotry fellow Dalia Mogahed. While MIT says the talk will help “bring our community together” by addressing “real tension between some groups and individuals,” Mogahed’s hostile rhetoric toward the Jewish state suggests her speech will have the opposite effect.

On Jan. 19, for example, Mogahed argued that Hamas is allowed to terrorize Israel under international law because Palestinians are “living under occupation.”

The Biden administration on Friday paused U.S. funding to the controversial United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) following allegations that employees of the agency were involved in Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre.

“The Department of State has temporarily paused additional funding for UNRWA while we review these allegations and the steps the United Nations is taking to address them,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

The announcement came after UNRWA on Friday said it opened an investigation into several employees suspected of involvement in the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel and that it had severed ties with those staff members.

Lieutenant-Colonel Arnaud Beltrame died at the hands of terrorists in the Islamist attacks in Trèbes and Carcassonne in March 2018 after exchanging himself for a hostage. The freed hostage explained that she had found faith through the sacrifice of Lieutenant-Colonel Beltrame.

The trial opened on Monday, January 22nd, in Paris, and is due to last a month. It involves trying those involved in terrorist attacks that took place on 23 March 2018, in the south of France—in Aude, Carcassonne, and in a supermarket in the town of Trèbes, a few kilometres away.

The terrorist, Radouane Ladkim, was a Moroccan, naturalised French in 2004. His hostage-taking was motivated by the demand for the release of Salah Abdeslam, who was involved in the Bataclan attacks in Paris in 2015. Ladkim entered a supermarket and initially took a young cashier, Julie Grand, hostage before freeing her at the request of Lieutenant-Colonel Beltrame, who took her place—against all the usual procedures.

Yet another reminder that Islam is an existential threat to Western civilization.

Now it seems the Powers That Be have hit upon a solution to the puir wee bairn problem: any woman who is a victim of domestic violence qualifies for asylum protection in the EU. Which means virtually 100% of the female population south of the Mediterranean or east of Aqaba. And most of those puir battered wives have plenty of wee bairns to bring in with them when they arrive. Then later their husbands can join them under family reunification policies!

In a shocking twist, five police officers are being forced to pay a fine to a Syrian migrant who was convicted for severely injuring one of them during riots related to a Quran burning during Easter of 2022.

The officers will have to pay out a total of 12,650 Swedish crowns (€1,122) from their own pockets to the 45-year-old convicted Syrian who has been sentenced to two years and seven months for his role in the riots.

Against the urging of authorities, Tahar opened the casket when he was alone, seeing the “unrecognizable,” headless body of his son, whom he identified through dog tags and a DNA test. He added that terrorists who killed his son launched a missile and three grenades at him and abused the corpse. Tahar also said that he saw on a CT scan that his son’s body was full of shrapnel.

After he buried his son, Tahar embarked on a months-long search for the head, asking “everyone I could” for answers. In his investigation, he also found a video that showed his son’s body without the head during the attacks.

The use of tunnels in wars is not new. Seeking advantages by using either natural or man-made spaces underground is as ancient as warfare itself—from stories of tunnels being used to win massive battles in the bible to underground spaces becoming key factors to urban battles, like Mariupol and Bakhmut, in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Modern nations including the United States, China, and North Korea invest billions in deep-buried military bunkers and tunnel complexes. But what Israel has faced in Gaza represents a unique first in war—namely, a case in which tunnels form one of two pillars, along with time, of a combatant’s political-military strategy.

Before the Israel-Hamas war, both the presence of Hamas tunnel networks and their growth over the years were very well known. The network was referred to as Gaza’s “Metro” or “lower Gaza.” The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and scholars estimated before the war that there were three hundred miles of tunnels ranging from fifteen feet to over two hundred feet below the surface. The estimates were wrong.

After three months of close combat and discovering over 1,500 tunnel shafts and underground passages, the IDF has learned enough to require the estimates to be revised. Israeli forces have unearthed massive invasion tunnels two and a half miles long, underground manufacturing plants, luxury tunnels with painted walls, tile floors, ceiling fans, and air conditioning, and a complex, layered, labyrinth underneath all areas of Gaza. The new estimates say the network may include between 350 and 450 miles of tunnels, with close to 5,700 separate shafts descending into hell.

Rishi Sunak’s Safety of Rwanda Bill passed comfortably in the House of Commons last night, with just 11 Tory MPs voting against, despite many more complaining that it is nowhere near tough enough. The bill, which will now be sent to the House of Lords for further scrutiny, is designed to overturn legal objections to sending illegal migrants to Rwanda for processing by declaring the African nation “safe.” The government succeeded in fighting down amendments which would have made it more difficult for future deportations to be blocked in the courts.

This is a definite victory for the prime minister and should stave off talk on the need for new Tory leadership, for now. But it is unlikely to have any real impact on the continuing Channel crisis, which Migration Watch UK Chairman Alp Mehmet, told The European Conservative will carry on regardless.

The Nation magazine’s Palestinian correspondent is being investigated by the London Metropolitan Police after saying “we must normalize massacres as the status quo” during an anti-Israel demonstration last weekend.

Mohammed El-Kurd, who is described as the Nation‘s “first-ever Palestine Correspondent” on the left-wing magazine’s website, also denounced the existence of Israel and said “we must root [Zionism] out of the world” in his speech at the London rally.

The Metropolitan Police said it was “aware of the remarks” and was “assessing the matter and as part of that assessment will be seeking to speak to the individual concerned.” The U.K. has strict laws relating to discriminatory speech and incitement to violence.

The chairman of Hamas’ decision-making body urged Muslims across the world to “build on” the horrific terrorist attacks on Israel of Oct. 7, which he characterized as a “victory,” and to send money to Hamas in what he called a “financial jihad.”

Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau, spoke at the International Union of Muslim Scholars on Tuesday. The union, an international body of Muslim theologians that forms the supreme authority of the Muslim Brotherhood, met in Doha, Qatar, where Haniyeh lives.

“The people of Gaza constitute our frontline trench for defense, as well as for offense,” Haniyeh said, according to a translation from the Middle East Media Research Institute. “They are not there only to defend, but also to attack. What was October 7 if not a frontline trench for an offensive by our nation? We must not let this moment slip away.”

As the Middle East is again consumed by wars of terrorist aggression, Africa, too, is experiencing a rise in violence. Despite the region receiving billions in U.S. foreign aid annually, groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State have gained ground throughout the continent. As of 2023, the Sahel region—a broad sub-Saharan swathe of land stretching from the Atlantic to the Indian Oceans—represents 43% of all global deaths caused by terrorism. This is a 7% increase over last year, with no signs of abating.

All of this chaos has helped American adversaries like China and Russia gain stronger footholds on the African continent—a continent rich in natural resources critical to U.S. commerce and national security, but a sanctuary for terrorists who seek to attack America and our allies. It’s also a place where people deserve better than terrorism, violence, and authoritarian dictators. Yet U.S. influence in the region has declined since the Biden administration took office and rolled out a tremendously weak Africa strategy.

ying nine passengers was captured in Somalia on Wednesday by the terrorist group al-Shabab after making an emergency landing in an area controlled by the group, two Somali officials said.

Six of the passengers were captured, while two escaped and one was killed, according to the two officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters. There were foreigners among the passengers, one of the officials said, though their nationalities were not known.

The helicopter, which was attached to the United Nations Support Office in Somalia, landed in the Galgaduud region in central Somalia on Wednesday. It was not immediately clear why the helicopter had to land. The fates of the two passengers who fled were still unknown, one of the officials said.

San Francisco lawmakers will vote Tuesday on a proposal urging an Israel-Hamas ceasefire, as Bay Area activists insist failing to pass such a resolution would be racist and “pro-genocide.”

The resolution, which includes just one mention of the “brutal attack” by Hamas militants, cites the “armed violence” that has taken place since Oct. 7 and calls for “a sustained ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian aid, release of hostages, and condemning antisemitic, anti-Palestinian, and Islamophobic rhetoric and attacks.” It cites the growing number of labor unions and other blue cities calling for a ceasefire as its justification.

San Francisco’s proposal is the latest high-profile attempt by a blue California city to wade into the conflict and comes after anti-Israel protesters have shut down the state Democratic convention, Sacramento’s annual Christmas-tree lighting, and the state assembly. San Francisco lawmakers on Monday spent nearly six hours adjudicating the resolution even as their city faces an $800 million deficit while dealing with crime, homelessness, and drug and economic crises.

The Lebanese paramilitary group backed by Iran unleashed large salvos of missiles that bombarded military bases as well as communities in northern Israel (many of which have long been evacuated), triggering alert sirens among some 90 towns and settlements.

The Hezbollah statement declared that the assault was “part of the initial response to the crime of assassinating the great leader Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri.”

The president of France’s supreme audit institution admits to deliberately delaying the release of a report on illegal immigration costs until after the parliamentary debate—and vote—on immigration law. The report, just released by the Cour des Comptes, shows the exorbitant sum of €1.8 billion charged to illegal immigration in 2023.

Published on Thursday, January 4th, the report is a harsh indictment of government policy, in particular the actions of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who boasts of having taken a tough stance on managing illegal immigrants. Darmanin claims to have introduced an effective policy for expelling illegal immigrants and says the expulsion rate of delinquent foreigners is up by 30%.

The first president of the Court, former socialist minister Pierre Moscovici, would normally have published the report in question on December 13th—two days after the vote on the motion to reject the first version of the immigration law—but preferred to remain temporarily silent on a document that is damning for the government. He defended himself by explaining that he did not want “this publication to interfere in any way with the political debate.”

The tanker hijack situation in the Arabian Sea which was first reported Thursday involving a distressed Liberian-flagged merchant vessel off the coast of Somalia has come to an end after Indian Navy intervention.

The warship INS Chennai was already patrolling regional waters and was dispatched to assist the vessel, ending in the successful rescue of all 21 crew members, including 15 Indians aboard the MV Lila Norfolk. Pirates had ambushed the vessel, in waters frequently targeted by Somali militants.

But because it was cast as a Muslim strike against a hated enemy, Muslims are largely incapable of forming any adverse judgments about the actions of their “side.”

The advancement of a “side” or ideology ahead of rightful moral order and sensibilities is never a good thing.

Islamic State spokesman Abu Huthaifa al-Ansari, in a speech published by the terror group’s media arm Al-Furqan on Thursday evening, called on ISIS supporters around the world to attack Jews and avenge the killing by the Israel Defense Forces of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

In a 30-minute recording titled, “And kill them wherever you find them,” Al-Ansari instructed terrorist cells to strike Israeli and Jewish targets across the United States and Europe, including synagogues, Jewish gatherings and Israeli diplomatic missions.

“The fight with Jews is a religious war, not a social or national battle,” Al-Ansari said, according to a translation of the speech provided by The Messenger, stressing: “It is not a [war] centered around lands or borders.”

“Barge into their homes and kill them using different methods, including gunfire, bombs, grenades and knives,” he stated. “Don’t differentiate between a civilian or a soldier, as they both should be targeted.”

Islam is an oppressive totalitarian ideology, masquerading as a religion, with which no co-existence is possible.

Rishi Sunak has already claimed credit for the reduction of illegal Channel crossings in 2023, which is still the second-highest total since records began. But official forecasts for this year add further credence to the view that the drop was simply a “glitch” caused by bad weather.

Leaked Border Force documents contain projections of crossings rising to around 35,000 in 2024, up from 2023’s provisional figure of 29,437. The documents, seen by The Daily Telegraph, suggest that the upper projection for the year ahead of us is as high as 50,000, which would be a record high.

Sunak’s Conservative government described stopping the small-boat crossings as one of its five key priorities for 2023. Having failed to do this, Home Secretary James Cleverly has shifted the goalposts to make 2024 the ‘target’ year to “bring it down to zero.” It is telling that the prime minister’s spokesman has refused to back this line.

France’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin has announced that foreign imams who are paid from abroad will be barred from entering France as of January 1st of this year, as the country seeks to increase the number of locally trained imams.

French broadcaster BFMTV also notes that after 1 April 2024, foreign imams already in the country will not be able to stay under the current terms of their immigration status.

The new policy is largely directed at around 300 or so imams from overseas, drawn primarily from Algeria, Turkey, and Morocco. The announcement of the new policy was sent to Turkey and Algeria.

In 2023, Spanish authorities arrested 78 people for offenses related to jihadist terrorism, a 66% uptick compared to the previous year.

The figures, compiled and released by the Ministry of Interior, are the highest recorded in nearly two decades. The rising number of jihadist terror-related arrests represents the continuation of an upward trend that began in 2015, the same year Europe witnessed an unprecedented influx of 1.3 million migrants, the vast majority of whom come from Islamic cultures.

An anti-Israel group whose founder said he was “happy to see” Hamas attack Israel is urging local libraries to feature children’s books that push propaganda against the Jewish state—including one that contends all of Israel belongs to “Palestine.”

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in late December released its “Palestine Beyond Borders” toolkit, which it said aims to “encourage libraries and bookstores to feature book displays on Palestine” and foster “a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted aspects of Palestinian history.” Included in the kit are a dozen children’s books, one of which calls on kids to “unlock all the truths about Palestine and educate everyone about its true history.”

That book, Baba, What Does My Name Mean?, takes a fictional child “refugee” on a “journey to Palestine,” which, according to a map displayed prominently at the beginning of the book, includes all land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. The map displays Tel Aviv, Haifa, and other Israeli cities as part of “Palestine,” the capital of which, according to the book, is Al-Quds, an Arabic name for Jerusalem. The book ends by stating that “through persistence and perseverance,” Palestinians will “one day … be free.”

He also said the group “cannot be silent” after the killing of Hamas’s deputy leader, Saleh al-Arouri, in Beirut and warned that his heavily armed forces would fight to the finish if Israel chose to extend war from Gaza to Lebanon.

Muslims celebrated Christmas in Nigeria by massacring around 100 Christians across a dozen communities. The Jihadis hacked Christians to death with machetes and burned down churches as part of a genocidal campaign that has killed 52,000 Christians in over a decade and forced millions to leave their home and become refugees in the African nation.

In America, not a single person marched, rallied or protested over this actual genocide.

Violence was rife yet again in many major Western European cities on New Year’s Eve, with rioting, brawling, attacks on emergency services, and the burning of cars becoming regular attractions in migrant-majority districts.

As we reported on Tuesday, January 2nd, German authorities and politicians are describing scenes of violence on New Year’s Eve as the “new normal”, after yet another night of crimes committed on the streets of Berlin and other cities.

Authorities in France were also keen to highlight how a minor drop in the number of arrests and the number of police officers injured was a “success.” Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said the 380 arrests made nationwide overnight was a 10% drop compared with a year ago. Authorities counted 745 vehicle fires, also 10% fewer than last year, and about 40 police officers suffered slight injuries, a 40% drop. The burning of cars is a regular occurrence in the migrant-majority districts of Paris on New Year’s Eve, and also during riots and celebrations.
