A nationwide campaign in Germany portraying Muslims as an inseparable part of everyday life has drawn renewed scrutiny over its federal taxpayer funding. Launched by the Berlin-based non-profit organization CLAIM, the ‘Action Weeks Against Anti-Muslim Racism’ initiative aims to combat discrimination by highlighting Muslims in various professional and social roles. As reported by the Hungarian Conservative, the initiative is funded by the Federal Family Ministry through its ‘Live Democracy!’ program, with the organization receiving a grant of nearly €625,000 for 2026, alongside substantial funding from the Interior Ministry and other federal streams.

Despite receiving extensive state financial support, CLAIM has faced ongoing controversies regarding its historical organizational links. Until its dissolution in November 2025, the wider CLAIM alliance consisted of more than 50 organizations, some of which had documented links to political Islam. For instance, Inssan, a co-founding member of the alliance, appeared in Berlin intelligence reports for its proximity to Muslim Brotherhood networks and individuals associated with a meeting point for Hamas supporters. Although CLAIM has denied any connection to these extremist groups and has since distanced itself from Inssan, the recurring controversies previously threatened the group’s eligibility for public funding.

To safeguard its access to federal grants, CLAIM reorganized its structure, officially dissolving the controversial alliance in late 2025 and transferring its operations to a newly incorporated non-profit limited-liability company. Total federal support connected to CLAIM exceeded €1.22 million in 2025 alone.

One of the stranger political alliances of the modern West has been taking shape in plain sight. You can see it in city protests, elite universities, nonprofit coalitions and legislative chambers. On one side, the progressive left: equity, feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-capitalism, decolonization, the whole familiar kit. On the other, Islamism. Not Islam as a faith. Islamism as a political project. Sharia law, religious supremacy, traditional gender hierarchy. All of it openly hostile to the liberal West.

These two movements agree on almost nothing. Not women’s rights. Not gay rights. Not free speech. Not secular government. Not the relationship between religion and the state. They agree on the enemy. America, Israel, Western (classical) liberal democracy, market capitalism, the inherited institutions of the West. Apparently, that is enough to build a coalition. Successful coalitions have been built on less.

The question nobody seems especially eager to ask is “What happens if they win?”

I don’t mean winning an election, not a campus resolution. Win in the larger sense. Assume, for the sake of argument, that the old Western order is discredited, hollowed out and finally pushed aside. The institutions go. The restraints go. The polite assumptions go. The last faction standing gets the keys.

Who is it? It’s the Islamists, and it’s not even close.

We do not need to work this out from first principles. Iran already ran the experiment.

I reject that there’s any essential distinction between Islam and “Islamism”. “Islamism” is a deliberately construction Confusion Word for people who refuse to do the work required to understand Islam in history. It is of no more significance than any attempted distinction between National Socialism and “Hitlerism”, with the former being Actually Very Nice People Once You Get to Know Them while the latter are genocidal maniacs.

Hamtramck was at one time a traditionally heavily Polish area. But, apparently, not any more. Michigan is becoming more and more Muslim as time goes on, as its liberal bent bends it to the breaking point.

In 2015, many liberal residents in Hamtramck, Michigan, celebrated as their city attracted international attention for becoming the first in the United States to elect a Muslim-majority city council.

They viewed the power shift and diversity as a symbolic but meaningful rebuke of the Islamophobic rhetoric that was a central theme of then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign.

This week many of those same residents watched in dismay as a now fully Muslim and socially conservative city council passed legislation banning Pride flags from being flown on city property that had – like many others being flown around the country – been intended to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Muslim residents packing city hall erupted in cheers after the council’s unanimous vote, and on Hamtramck’s social media pages, the taunting has been relentless: “Fagless City”, read one post, emphasized with emojis of a bicep flexing.

The Leftist mind consists of innumerable individual compartments: One labeled “Free Palestine”, one labeled “Believe all women”, one labeled “LGBTQXYZ”, etc., and at no point do these compartments overlap, or even touch.

The right-wing Sweden Democrats (SD) have expanded their online migration map by introducing a new filter showing the locations of mosques and Muslim prayer facilities across Sweden.

The initiative is intended to provide the public greater with insight into the growth of Islam in the country.

According to SD MEP Charlie Weimers, the new feature identifies 238 mosques and prayer venues, together with information on their religious affiliation and, where known, sources of funding.

The data has been compiled using public registers, maps, and information gathered through a nationwide volunteer effort.

Weimers stressed that the map is not intended to provide a definitive count of Sweden’s mosques, but rather an illustrative overview. He said the project would continue to be expanded and invited members of the public to submit information, particularly regarding mosque financing.

The mosque filter is the latest addition to Weimers’ ‘Migration Map’ website, which already includes information on Sweden’s no-go zones and the proportion of residents with a foreign background.

Iran said it struck a US navy and air base in two separate missile attacks overnight as renewed fighting between the two sides entered a third day.

Tehran claimed it had targeted military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain and warned of a “crushing response” if Washington continued its strikes inside Iran.

The US attacked targets inside Iran on Saturday after an interim peace deal between the two countries broke down on Friday.

More sinisterly, a clip with 13.4 million views posted by Elon Musk shows a German policeman being told by an African arrestee that “no one is gonna save you. Europe is finished.”

One might call it clickbait, but wise Europeans will pay attention to the explicit messaging spreading across social media.

The War Zone.

The U.N. International Maritime Organization (IMO) paused its plan to evacuate hundreds of ships stuck in the Persian Gulf after a vessel was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. A U.S. official told us the attack was carried out by an Iranian drone, which was confirmed by Iranian officials.

The evacuation plan, which IMO developed with Oman, was designed to provide safe passage to vessels in the Persian Gulf that are still unable to transit the Strait, which has been largely closed since Iran was attacked by the U.S. and Israel. The announcement came as traffic was beginning to move through the Strait again amid ongoing, albeit tense peace talks between the U.S. and Iran. However, these transits represent a tiny fraction of what took place before the war.

The IMO decision today also came after a warning earlier on Thursday by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGC-N) that safe passage through the Strait was limited to routes designated by Tehran and that other routes were “unacceptable and completely dangerous,” according to The Washington Post. The publication cited Iranian state-run media. The IRGC-N also claimed it turned back several ships trying to transit the Strait through the southern route suggested by IMO. There is also a northern route, near the Iranian coastline while concerns remain about mines in the main route, down the middle of the Strait.

IMO said it is pausing its evacuation plan even though the ship that was attacked was not taking part in that nascent effort.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said a man with direct ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) tried to enter the United States with the Iranian national soccer team during the World Cup.

“When we started doing the research on him, he had only been put in place since 2022, and we didn’t allow him to board the plane,” Mullin said in a TV interview Sunday. “The guy trying to get on the plane yesterday had direct ties to IRGC.”

The Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) called Mullin’s allegation “an outright lie.”

“The claim that an official representative of the Iranian football federation attempted to board a flight to enter the United States yesterday and was prevented from doing so is an outright and undeniable lie. This claim is so unfounded that those who made it are well aware that such an incident never occurred in the first place,” FFIRI said.

“It is regrettable that a senior U.S. official has resorted to spreading false statements and misinformation in order to justify restrictions imposed on members of the Iranian national team delegation,” FFIRI added.

At least four Muslim members of the Texas Republican Party shared their experience at the state’s Republican convention over remarks they described as Islamophobic.

Nobody worries about ‘Nazi-phobic’ or ‘Communist-phobic’, so why the uproar about ‘Islamophobic’? A phobia is an irrational fear, and a fear of Islam, like a fear of Nazis or a fear of Communists, is entirely rational, as history plainly demonstrates.

“When they say Sharia-free, that means Muslim-free, no practices of Islam,” Mohamed Hussein, an attendee, told The Texas Tribune. “No one is calling for the state to implement Sharia laws.”

Of course not—Muslims know that would not be well received (although they do it in Europe, and I suspect it’s only a matter of time and increased Muslim population growth before it happens here). What ‘sharia-free’ means is the elimination of the stealthy growtho of sharia-law in parallel with normal American law, as is currently happening in the UK. Muslims set up their own sharia-law tribunals and pressure all Muslims to use them in place of the existing legal structure. (Orthodox Jews have done the same thing; it’s not unusual for tribal peoples living in non-tribal societies.)

Hussein said he was in disbelief that he was told to convert or leave—for the first time in his life.

But that’s exactly the choice that Islam gives to non-Muslims. Convert or go away (Actually, historically it was convert or die, but they can’t get away with that in the modern world). If you’re a Christian or a Jew, you get a third choice: Become a dhimmi, which is kind of like being a Negro in the Democrat South.

A privately funded inquiry organised by Rupert Lowe’s Restore Britain party has accused British authorities of allowing organised child sexual exploitation networks to operate across the country for decades, claiming that political sensitivities repeatedly took precedence over protecting vulnerable girls.

The 219-page Rape Gang Inquiry Report is not an official government investigation and did not possess statutory powers to compel witnesses or evidence. Instead, it draws on survivor testimony, whistleblower accounts, court records, previous inquiries, and expert evidence gathered during hearings organised by Restore Britain.

The report examines Britain’s rape gang scandal, a series of cases uncovered in towns and cities across England in which groups of men, largely of Pakistani Muslim heritage, sexually exploited underage girls, often over many years. Previous official investigations in places including Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, and Telford found repeated failures by police, social services, schools, and local authorities to intervene despite numerous warnings.

Police in Toronto announced on Tuesday that they believe young adults are being hired and paid online to shoot at local synagogues.

The announcement follows a string of arrests in connection with shootings at a range of targets in the Canadian city, including multiple synagogues.

“What we know is bad actors are using criminal elements in our city to carry out these dangerous incidents,” Toronto Police Service Chief Myron Demkiw said at a press conference. “It is clear that some of the people hiring these criminals want to create a sense of fear in our communities, including the Jewish community.”

Demkiw said the suspects were being recruited through online networks and offered payments if they filmed themselves engaging in the shootings.

“Who’s paying for this?” he asked. “This is what we are trying to determine.”

I suspect that at least one of them is named “Mohammed”.

Figures released from German police statistics show that Syrian nationals were the largest foreign-national group among suspects identified in violent incidents and certain sexual offences recorded at public bathing sites last year.

The data, obtained by Junge Freiheit from a federal government response to a parliamentary question, showed that authorities recorded 360 violent incidents at public swimming and bathing areas in 2025 involving 426 suspects. Of those, 178 did not hold German citizenship.

Among foreign-national suspects, Syrians accounted for the largest group, with 52 suspects identified in connection with violent offences. Afghan nationals were the second-largest group with 15 suspects, followed by Turkish nationals with 11.

The figures have attracted renewed attention amid ongoing debate in Germany over migration, public security, and the integration of recent arrivals.

A British appeals court ruled Monday that the government acted lawfully in banning a prominent pro-Palestinian group as a terrorist organization.

Jewish groups welcomed the decision to maintain the ban on Palestine Action, which has staged multiple destructive attacks on military installations and weapons manufacturers in Britain.

The government banned Palestine Action in July 2025 after some of its members broke into an air force base and damaged two military aircraft as part of a protest against the U.K.’s relationship to Israel during the war in Gaza. The ruling meant that anyone displaying support for the group has been subject to arrest and imprisonment.

The British High Court declared the ban unlawful in February, concluding that the ban interfered with Palestine Action members’ rights to speech and assembly. Now, a five-judge U.K. Court of Appeal panel has ruled that the group’s activities met the legal standards for terrorism and the government’s decision to ban the group was justified and proportionate.

The difference is coverage. A hijab covers the hair, ears, and neck while leaving the face visible. A niqab covers the face except for the eyes and is usually worn with a headscarf and a loose robe. A burqa covers the whole body and the entire face, with a mesh screen or grille over the eyes so the wearer can see out.

The terms are often confused, but they are not interchangeable. All three are forms of Islamic modest dress worn by some Muslim women, shaped by region, religious interpretation, family tradition, and personal choice. The hijab is by far the most common worldwide. The niqab is worn by a smaller number of women, often in Gulf Arab countries and parts of South Asia. The full burqa is most associated with Afghanistan. The distinction matters because news coverage and political debate often use the words loosely.

Iran is treating a proposed memorandum of understanding with the United States as a “tactical pause” rather than a permanent settlement to the conflict, according to a report.

The proposed agreement would unfold in two stages. The first phase would focus on ending the current conflict, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and providing Iran with economic benefits, including reconstruction funding, sanctions relief, access to frozen assets, and an end to what Iranian officials have described as a U.S. blockade.

A second phase would address Iran’s nuclear program and one or two other unspecified issues.

According to the report, Iran is attempting to structure the agreement in a way that secures economic concessions before substantive negotiations over its nuclear program begin.

Access to some frozen assets early in the process could provide Tehran with economic relief while reducing U.S. leverage in later talks.

Iranian media outlets have portrayed the emerging agreement as a temporary measure rather than a final resolution.

government bill that will eliminate the possibility of permanent residence permits for asylum seekers and certain other groups of immigrants.

The legislation, passed on Tuesday, will come into force on July 12th. From that date onward, only temporary residence permits can be issued to those falling under the new rules.

Temporary residence permits are already the norm in Sweden. The new law, however, removes the possibility for these groups to eventually obtain permanent residence status. Individuals who already hold permanent residence permits will not be affected by the change.

The move comes as Sweden continues to grapple with serious problems related to gang crime and violence, much of which authorities have linked to criminal networks with immigrant backgrounds. Over the past decade, the country has struggled to contain shootings connected to rival gangs involved in the drug trade and their violent feuds.

According to police data from May, 23 innocent bystanders have been killed and another 30 wounded in gang-related shootings over the past three years. Authorities said the victims were not the intended targets but were instead hit by stray bullets, mistaken for someone else, or targeted because of links to individuals involved in criminal networks.

Police have also warned that gangs increasingly recruit teenagers through social media and encrypted messaging services, often offering money to carry out attacks. Many recruits are younger than 15, the current age of criminal responsibility in Sweden, making them particularly attractive to criminal organizations because they cannot be prosecuted under the criminal justice system.

Four teenage suspects caused one synagogue explosion and attempted to cause a second—all for a €3,000 payment—a court in the Netherlands heard.

The quartet, all between 17 and 19 years old, was arrested on the night of March 13 outside a synagogue on Mozartlaan in Hillegersberg. Previously, an explosion had occurred at the Jewish house of prayer on ABN Davidsplein in Blijdorp. It is alleged that footage of this blast—started with gasoline and a firecracker—was sent to a handler using a messaging app.

The video was then circulated on the Telegram channel Alfaqaar. From here onwards, the attack was claimed by Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya. Despite this, the teens—three of the four of Antillean descent—through their lawyers argue that this is not a terror case.

Four Afghan nationals, including a 16-year-old boy, are on trial in Britain accused of repeatedly raping a 17-year-old girl over several hours after allegedly grooming her online and transporting her to Bristol in late November 2025.

Mehrab Safi, 21, Awal Ahmadzai, 19, and Salman Habibkheil, 19, along with the juvenile, allegedly groomed the victim after Safi approached her in Bristol’s Cabot Circus. Court proceedings at Bristol Crown Court heard that Safi added the girl on Snapchat and requested nude photos before organising a taxi to bring her from Somerset to Bristol in the early hours.

Once there, she was allegedly taken to a property in the St. Werburghs area, plied with vodka and cigarettes, and allegedly raped by all four defendants. Prosecutor Ed Hetherington told the court the girl was isolated, alone in an unfamiliar city at night, and subjected to repeated sexual abuse against her will over several hours. The alleged assault came to an end after the girl’s mother alerted police.

Three of the adult suspects fled the scene as officers arrived, travelling to London and Birmingham before crossing to France hidden in a lorry. French police detained them in Calais on 3 December 2025; they reportedly gave false names before being returned to the UK. Safi faces two rape charges and one of human trafficking. Habibkheil denies human trafficking and rape. Ahmadzai denies rape and assault by penetration. The 16-year-old denies rape. The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.

Violence erupted across Northern Ireland on Tuesday night after a Sudanese asylum seeker was charged with attempted murder following a brutal knife attack in north Belfast that sparked widespread public outrage.

The 30-year-old suspect, who is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court, was also charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place and making threats to kill. The victim, a local man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries to his face, neck, and back and remains in hospital.

The case attracted national attention after footage circulated online appearing to show the attacker repeatedly striking the victim while he was on the ground. Police later confirmed that the suspect had arrived in Ireland in 2023 before travelling to Northern Ireland, where he claimed asylum and was subsequently granted leave to remain in the United Kingdom until 2028.

The revelation reignited debate over Britain’s asylum system and border controls, particularly the so-called “Irish route,” under which migrants can enter the Republic of Ireland and later travel into Northern Ireland without routine border checks.

Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service announced Tuesday that an 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the March arson attack that destroyed four ambulances owned by Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer emergency service.

Subhan Ahmed, a British national, was charged on Monday with “assisting an offender” in connection with the arson.

The ambulances were set ablaze in the early morning of March 23 in Golders Green, a heavily Jewish neighborhood in London. The incident spurred increased patrols in Jewish communities.

he Trump administration has referred more than 100 employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for suspension and debarment after investigators alleged they participated in Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel or were members of Hamas-linked militant groups.

The report issued Friday by the USAID Office of Inspector General, the office overseeing U.S. foreign assistance programs, recommends that 101 individuals be placed on a governmentwide exclusion list barring them from participating in U.S.-funded foreign aid projects for 10 years.

According to the report, those identified included “UNRWA school principals, teachers, security personnel, attendants, psychosocial counselors, and medical professionals” who were found to be members of Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades or other militant organizations.

Among those cited were a “deputy school principal serving as an al-Qassam deputy company commander in the Ain Gallout/5th infantry battalion” and a “math and computer teacher” with “ties to an Al-Qassam intelligence squad.”

Brent crude futures jumped as much as 5% to $97.83 a barrel, while WTI traded around $95 a barrel, as renewed Iran-Israel fighting threatened to unravel a fragile US-Iran ceasefire and further disrupt energy flows.

On the maritime chokepoint front, Iran-backed Houthis declared a full ban on Israeli vessels in the southern Red Sea, warning that any Israeli ship (or linked ship) will be seen as a military target.

“First: We declare a complete and total ban on maritime navigation for the Israeli enemy in the Red Sea, and we consider all enemy movements to be military targets for our Armed Forces from the moment this statement is issued,” the terror group said Monday in a statement.

The statement continued, “Second: We affirm that we will meet escalation with escalation, and that our military operations will escalate in line with events, the battle, and in conjunction with the axis of Jihad and Resistance.”

“Third: We affirm the right of our people and the peoples of our free nation to confront American-Israeli aggression, and that we will not stand idly by in the face of the unjust siege imposed on our people and the peoples of the axis of Jihad and Resistance in Palestine, Gaza, Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq. All enemy attempts will fail, God willing, and our operations will continue as long as the aggression and siege against us and the axis of Jihad and Resistance continue,” the statement concluded.

A Navy veteran is one of three men recently arrested for allegedly trying to pay more than $2,000 to a person whom they thought was a member of the Islamic State group, or ISIS, to buy rocket-propelled grenades and drones for an attack against U.S. troops overseas, officials said.

Bareen Dzayee, 25, was taken into custody on June 5 along with two other men, a Justice Department news release says. Prosecutors claim Dzayee suggested the drone attack target U.S. Special Forces, according to the Justice Department, according to the Justice Department.

Dzayee enlisted in the Navy in November 2021 and served until July 2024, reaching the rank of seaman, according to his service record, which was provided by the Navy.

After completing the service’s boot camp and Surface Warfare Engineering School in Illinois, Dzayee served on the destroyer USS John S. McCain from March 2022 to July 2024, his record says. KNSD, an NBC television station in San Diego, first reported that Dzayee had served in the Navy.

Three months ago, just as the Iran war was getting started, we said it was surprising that UAE’s oil export terminal of Fujairah – already the Middle East’s largest bunkering terminal for tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz and major loading point for Murban crude – was not a far bigger in terms of capacity and throughput as it bypasses the Straits completely, and predicted a “major infrastructure push here after the war.”

That, coupled with the fact that Saudi East-West pipeline was running at peak capacity of roughly 7mmb/d (including non-oil products), and one could see – we said – the urgency gripping the Gulf in finding alternatives to the Strait of Hormuz which has emerged as Iran’s biggest source of leverage in the war.

Fast forward to today when we get the latest confirmation that plans for Hormuz alternatives are indeed front and center, after the FT reported that gulf countries that export oil via the Strait of Hormuz are in talks about planning pipelines that would allow them to bypass the waterway should it remain largely closed.

Kuwait was among the countries talking to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates about potential pipelines across their countries that could connect Gulf oil production to global buyers, said Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al-Sabah, managing director of international marketing at Kuwait Petroleum Corp.

A 21-year-old Saudi national, a former student at the University of Surrey, was arrested on Thursday after allegedly using a crossbow to shoot a man on campus.

The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. at Manor Park Student Village in Guildford. The victim, a man in his 50s who worked for the university’s campus safety team, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted to a major London hospital for treatment.

During the current but tenuous ceasefire, Iran has successfully managed to excavate multiple key sites tied to its missile program that were previously bombarded by the American-Israeli warplanes during the initial five weeks of Operation Epic Fury.

While the revelation is not exactly new, a fresh CNN report has confirmed through recent satellite imagery that more missile tunnels have been dug out than previously thought.

Tehran utilized basic construction equipment to dig out several missile launchers and reopen subterranean tunnels tied to its missile program. The visual analysis determined that Iran was able to successfully clear the entrances to 50 out of 69 targeted tunnels, alongside 18 distinct missile production sites.

“Iran has repaired other parts of the bases as well, including roads that the US and Israel bombed to prevent missile launchers from using them,” CNN wrote. “Satellite images show almost all these craters have now been filled, and at two sites, even repaved.”

Swiss city of Winterthur on Thursday morning, with witnesses reporting that the attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the assault.

The attack took place shortly before 8.30 a.m. local time outside Winterthur station, around 20 kilometres northeast of Zurich, during the morning rush hour. At least four people were injured. Three victims were taken to hospital, including one person who suffered serious injuries.

Roger Bonetti, a Zurich cantonal police spokesman, confirmed that the suspect had been detained. “The perpetrator was arrested by the police,” he told local media, adding that the motive for the attack was “still under investigation.”

Video footage circulating online appeared to show a man running outside the station entrance while holding a knife and repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar.” Witnesses described scenes of panic as commuters fled the area.

Reform UK councillors in Birmingham have called for council meetings to be conducted only in English after an Islamic prayer was read aloud in Arabic during a mayoral ceremony in the city.

Newly-appointed Lord Mayor Zaker Choudhry invited imam Muhammad Abdali to recite a verse from the Koran in Arabic as he was sworn in. The verse was later repeated in English.

In a letter to Choudhry, Reform councillors said the council should remain “inclusive and accessible to all residents regardless of religion or culture” and argued that all proceedings should be held in English.

Group leader Jex Parkin said only English should be used in public meetings “to promote and protect the language, culture, and values of the United Kingdom.”

The move prompted criticism from Labour councillors. Majid Mahmood described the warning as “nonsense” and said Birmingham’s diversity should not be “feared or politicised.”

The imam said the prayer promoted harmony, cooperation, and opposition to “all forms of extremism and terrorism.” A council spokesman said Lord Mayors traditionally have the option to invite a religious leader of their choice to open proceedings.

Suspected Iranian operatives are attempting to recruit people in Britain to organise anti-Israel protests, according to a report that has intensified criticism of the Labour government’s response to Tehran.

The Times reported that an undercover journalist was offered money by a suspected Iranian agent to organise demonstrations in London and recruit others sympathetic to Tehran’s anti-Israel messaging.

Elsewhere across Europe, documents suggest officers from the terrorist Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are also working in the EU under diplomatic cover, and that Tehran is hoping to expand covert operations further once its war with the U.S. and Israel is over.

Sweden’s parliament has approved a new law banning marriages between cousins and other close relatives, with the measure set to take effect on July 1, 2026.

The reform, passed by the Swedish Riksdag on Tuesday, will also mean that such marriages conducted abroad will generally no longer be recognised in Sweden.

The legislation was introduced by the government following an investigation into consanguineous marriages and their links to forced marriage, family pressure, and so-called “honour”-related violence. The initiative was backed by the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats party.
