Muslims invaded Spain in 711 and conquered almost all of that country. They held Spain for centuries, until the Christian Reconquest finally drove out the last of the Muslims in 1492. The Reconquest has always been regarded as a glorious chapter in Spanish history, but its current far-left, socialist government seems to be on the other side.

Spain’s government had already given 500,000 illegal aliens, mostly Muslims, legal status in that country. That was the context for yesterday’s attack by Moroccans on the Spanish territory of Ceuta, which Bill Glahn wrote about here. Suddenly, thousands of Moroccans swam or boated around Spain’s fence into Cueta. Why did this happen all at once? They seem to have gotten word that the Spanish authorities wouldn’t stop them.

As usual in these cases, the “migrants” were nearly all military-age men. This wasn’t a migration, it was an invasion, as in 711. And Spain’s government seems to be on board with it.

Massachusetts lawmakers are taking steps toward using taxpayer dollars to prioritize the hiring of American Muslims for state government positions through a permanent so-called Islamic commission, sparking concerns that the Left is prioritizing a religion that contradicts its own political agenda.

If enacted, Bill S.2134, “An Act promoting the civil rights and inclusion of American Muslims in the commonwealth,” would create a “permanent” commission to help recommend Americans who practice Islam for appointed government positions in the New England state.

The commission, as stated in the bill, would consist of a panel of 11 Muslims appointed by Democrat Gov. Maura Healey and other state officials to represent the Islamic faith on issues such as business, the economy, health care, and other concerns.

The commission will be responsible for executing eight different tasks, which include serving as a liaison between the Muslim American community and the government, researching “Islamophobia,” recommending Muslim Americans for positions in the government, and undertaking “activities designed to enable the commonwealth to realize the full benefit of the skills, talents, and cultural heritage of American Muslims.”

On July 4, a documentary titled “Remember the Alamo: Don’t Sharia My Texas” was released, drawing attention from supporters and critics alike over its information on Islam.

The film, created by Chris Burgard, argues that there is a coordinated effort to introduce Sharia law into American society, with Texas serving as the primary target. Throughout the documentary, speakers claim that Dallas has become the “Mecca of the West.”

The documentary opens by recounting the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution in 1836 before shifting to the new threat Burgard says the state now faces in the threat of Islam.

Burgard interviews several individuals throughout the film, including former U.S. Rep. Allen West, former FBI Special Agent and counterterrorism expert John Guandolo, investigative journalist Lara Logan, and retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

According to the documentary, Islamic leaders are working to expand Islam’s influence in Texas. The film includes clips of Islamic scholars and imams discussing their religious beliefs and goals, as well as segments examining terrorist attacks carried out on U.S. soil. Burgard also argues that Islamic organizations have increasingly used litigation, or “lawfare,” to advance their objectives.

Dallas is about the same lattitude as Damascus. Texas feels right at home to most Arabs.

Morocco into Ceuta, a Spanish territory on the North African coast. At least 18 people have died, while Italy is threatening to bring back border checks.

The mass crossings into Ceuta and Melilla—two Spanish territories that border Morocco—sparked a major diplomatic crisis within hours. Both cities belong to Spain, making their borders with Morocco part of the European Union’s external frontier.

Spain’s interior ministry says around 49,000 people crossed by land and sea in just 24 hours. At least 18 reportedly died in stampedes or while trying to swim around the Tarajal border crossing into Ceuta.

The Spanish government has sent 200 specialist police officers and 60 soldiers to the area. Melilla has not seen an influx on the same scale, but clashes broke out at its Beni Enzar border crossing. Several vehicles were set on fire, while migrants and members of the security forces were injured.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez promised an “immediate” response, saying his left-wing government was sending help and working with Morocco. Sánchez is expected to visit Ceuta with Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska to meet local officials and police commanders.

An agreement has been reached to disarm and demilitarise Hamas and the Gaza Strip, Donald Trump has claimed.

The agreement marks a major step towards implementing the US president’s peace plan, under which a Palestinian technocratic government overseen by the US-led Board of Peace would eventually govern Gaza.

“This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY,” Mr Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday.

An Afghan woman living in Texas, whose son and son-in-law were convicted of plotting an Election Day mass killing in 2024, had a public removal hearing Thursday, the first case before the Alien Terrorist Removal Court.

The Justice Department says Nazira Haji Zada, 47, of Fort Worth, Texas, is being removed for her role in a plot involving her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi. The pair were arrested in October 2024 after buying guns and ammunition from an undercover FBI employee that were to be used in an Election Day attack. The Justice Department asserts the planned shooting was inspired by the terrorist group ISIS. Zada, a legal permanent resident, is challenging the constitutionality of her deportation order.

The case marks the first public session of the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, a specialized federal court that Congress established in 1996. The court has jurisdiction to remove foreign terrorists from the United States when the government establishes by a preponderance of the evidence that an alien is a terrorist. The secretive court allows the government to produce classified information to use in prosecution.

Germany’s federal government just dropped numbers that should end every soft-border talking point still circulating in European capitals.

Of the 1,087 suspects identified in 751 recorded gang rapes last year, 53 percent were foreign nationals.

Non-Germans make up less than 17 percent of the population. The 772 victims were overwhelmingly German: 619 of them, or 80 percent, including 565 women.

The McKinney Islamic Association is facing continued scrutiny after the McKinney City Council announced it will be holding a final vote on a proposed mosque and Islamic center.

Last week, it was revealed that McKinney’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted 7-0 to recommend approval of the association’s plan to build a new mosque and community campus off Virginia Parkway near two residential neighborhoods. The council is scheduled to approve or deny the project at its Aug. 4 meeting.

Ammon Blair, senior fellow for the Secure & Sovereign Nation initiative at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, told the Daily Signal that Texas needs to “demand complete transparency regarding MIA’s funding, foreign contributions, institutional affiliations, tribunal activities, use of campus facilities, dispute-resolution practices, and protections against coercion.”

“Texas must enforce one constitutional order, one civil sovereign, and one controlling rule of law,” he said. “No religious, ideological, political, or foreign-linked organization stands above that standard.”

According to Authentic Ilm Mission’s website, the project will include what it describes as America’s first national residential Dawah Seminary, offering programs leading to both a diploma and a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies.

In addition to the seminary, K-12 academy, and mosque, the property will also house an Ansar Pantry, a community food bank open to the public. The pantry will provide a variety of food items while specifically sourcing and distributing halal meat to meet Muslim dietary needs.

Sweden’s left-wing parties are running Arabic-language advertisements aimed at immigrant voters ahead of this year’s elections, repeating a strategy used during the 2022 campaign.

The advertisements have appeared on Al Kompis, an Arabic-language website aimed at immigrants in Sweden who cannot speak Swedish. Political parties and public authorities have previously used the platform to reach the country’s Arabic-speaking population.

Among those advertising during the current campaign are the Social Democrats and the Centre Party.

An advertisement featuring Social Democrat leader Magdalena Andersson promises greater investment in healthcare and schools. It links to a dedicated campaign page claiming that the party’s economic policies would leave “ordinary people” with more money.

The party also promises support for workers, families and pensioners struggling with rising electricity, fuel, food and borrowing costs.

The Centre Party’s advertisements focus on fighting racism and discrimination. One features MEP Abir Al-Sahlani, who says she is “equally skilled at cooking Iraqi and Swedish dishes.”

On the party’s campaign page, Al-Sahlani says she wants Sweden to have “a balanced immigration policy that upholds human rights.”

The US has said it successfully intercepted a “surprise attack” by Iran on American forces in the Middle East.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces “launched multiple ballistic missiles in an attempted surprise attack on US forces”, US Central Command said on Tuesday evening.

Locals lined up outside a Toronto bagel shop on Monday in a show of support after attacks on two outposts of the Jewish-owned chain, adding to a string of incidents facing Jewish businesses in the city.

Two locations of Kiva’s Bagel Bar, a fixture for Toronto Jews since it opened in 1979, were targeted late Saturday and early Sunday. Gunfire hit the windows of one storefront just an hour after another storefront was vandalized and its front glass shattered, according to the Toronto Police Service.

Police said their Hate Crime Unit was investigating, and they believed the same SUV may have been involved at both scenes. The bakeries were closed at the time and no injuries were reported.

Two knives suddenly became active in Paris this morning. They were held in the hands of a culture-enriching man, and managed to wound three women before the hands that held them were subdued. The attacker — who has yet to be named — told police that Allah had instructed him to act out with the knives, but authorities have disregarded that statement because they are convinced that he is “psychologically unbalanced”.

Rotterdam has introduced an unprecedented nighttime ban preventing people from entering large parts of the De Esch district unless they live, work, or have another valid reason to be there.

The measure was introduced after residents endured nearly three years of street racing, drug use, intimidation, prostitution, and persistent noise from migrant youth gangs that made normal life impossible.

The measure bars anyone from entering the affected area between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless they have a specific reason to be there. Residents, their visitors, people working in the district, and those attending local businesses or events are exempt.

21-year-old Abdul Ballout was named as the suspect who drove a white van through a crowd at an LGBT festival in Berlin, then stabbed more people as he fled the scene.

Ballout is the son of Shia-Muslim migrants from Lebanon. He was born in Berlin.

In 2024, Ballout left Germany to go fight with ISIS. He ended up back in Lebanon.

Instead of classifying him as a terrorist, denaturalizing him (canceling his German passport), and reporting him to the Lebanese authorities, German officials brought Ballout back to Germany for trial.

And the slow suicide of Europe proceeds apace.

Across the globe this past weekend, dozens of people had the great fortune to hear someone shouting “God is the greatest!” in Arabic, a sure sign that something really good was happening.

People in Berlin, New York City, and Paris were treated in recent days to the happy Arabic proclamation of God’s greatness, leaving passersby looking around for what wonderful thing was transpiring.

The remark was made during a vigil held in Berlin for the victims of the attack on the Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade on Saturday. The woman who spoke revealed something more telling than a mere emotional reaction: a desire for the terrorist to fit a politically convenient frame.

She was not hoping that the attacker did not exist. She was hoping he was someone else.

As they do. If we all hope really really hard, Tinkerbelle will live.

The attack took place on July 25th in Berlin’s Tiergarten park. A man drove into the crowd, and then attacked people with a bladed weapon. One woman was killed and another 29 people were injured.

The suspect was later identified as Abdul B., a 21-year-old German of Lebanese origin known for his Islamist connections. German authorities classified the incident as Islamist terrorism. The attacker was shot dead by police the following day.

The facts forced part of the Left to confront its own reflection. A white Christian attacker would have allowed the assault to be presented as a direct consequence of supremacism, the far Right, or Western intolerance. A radicalised Islamist, by contrast, forces an acknowledgement that there are religious and political currents incompatible with the rights the LGBT movement claims to defend.

The CSD organisers, predictably, called for the attack not to be politically “instrumentalised” and insisted that no community should be placed under general suspicion. The principle is reasonable: no citizen should be held responsible for another person’s actions because of their origin or religion. The problem arises when caution is used to prevent any discussion of the terrorist’s specific ideology.

The attack must not be politicised, they say—except to decide in advance which interpretation is forbidden.

A charity that is an alleged outpost of the Iranian regime in London has the right to bring migrants to Britain, The Telegraph can reveal.

The Home Office has given the Islamic Centre of England, based in Maida Vale, powers to sponsor visas for “skilled workers” and religious ministers.

The centre remains on the official register of visa sponsors despite accusations that it forms part of Iran’s propaganda machine in the UK. It has successfully issued a number of certificates of sponsorship, the document necessary for migrant workers to apply to enter the UK.

Islamic bookshops selling anti-Semitic texts have been granted the right to bring “skilled” migrants to Britain, The Telegraph can disclose.

The Home Office has given powers to sponsor “skilled worker” visas to a string of bookshops, which are thought to have used them to bring dozens of people into the UK.

Books sold by some of the stores claim that Jewish people had a “wicked nature”, while other texts are deemed a radicalisation threat by UK prisons.

One book on sale is Milestones by Sayyid Qutb, the influential Muslim Brotherhood leader whose work rails against Western civilisation and “world Jewry”.

Other works on offer include those by Hasan al-Banna, the Brotherhood’s founder, and by Bilal Philips, a cleric banned by the Home Office, whose writings offer advice on beating wives. All the books reviewed by The Telegraph can legally be sold in the UK, and there is no suggestion the bookshops have broken any rules.

Police in Germany are hunting a 21-year old “Islamist” after a van rammed into a crowd of people at Berlin’s Pride festival.

The suspect, named by police as Abdul B, is known to authorities “as a member of Islamist circles in Berlin”.

He is described as slim, approximately 1.90m tall and was seen on the night wearing a black hooded jumper and white trousers.

At least one person was killed and 17 others were injured on Saturday night, including three critically, after a white van mowed down a crowd of people at the event.

Police failed to arrest a violent Afghan national hours before he fatally stabbed a dog walker despite being told he posed a danger to the public, The Telegraph can reveal.

Dawood Safi, 28, carried out a triple stabbing in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge on Oct 27 which resulted in the death of Wayne Broadhurst, 49.

Two other people, 45-year-old Shazhad Farrukh, Safi’s landlord, and a 14-year-old boy were injured in the attack.

At the Old Bailey last week, Safi, who entered the country illegally in the back of a lorry in 2020, was found guilty of the attempted murder of Mr Farrukh.

He had previously pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Broadhurst through diminished responsibility.

French investigating judges have added racism as an aggravating circumstance to the cases against all the suspects formally investigated over the 2023 killing of 16-year-old Thomas Perotto.

The decision, announced on Thursday, July 23rd, comes more than two and a half years after the fatal attack at the village’s winter dance in Crépol, in south-eastern France.

According to a source close to the investigation, the judges amended the charges after considering around 10 witness statements reporting remarks hostile to white people at the end of the dance, including: “We’re here to stab white people.”

Thomas Perotto, a secondary school pupil and rugby player, was fatally stabbed during the night of November 18-19, 2023, after violence erupted at the village event. Three other people were seriously wounded.

The alleged perpetrators are believed to be a group of young men from North African immigrant families from the working-class neighborhoods of nearby Romans-sur-Isère.

On June 12, prosecutors in Valence requested that eleven people stand trial over Thomas’s death.

Fuming Long Island residents are fighting to the opening of a Muslim boarding school for boys that’s expected to house 120 teenage students — claiming it will destroy a quiet suburban neighborhood.

A group of Bay Shore homeowners claims the proposal for an overnight dorm is illegal under codes for the suburban Saxon Avenue, on a 13-acre waterfront property that housed a Catholic seminary years ago.

“The proposed use by the new property owner is far more intensive than what is appropriate for a quiet residential neighborhood,” Kevin Colgan, an Islip resident and leader of the anti-boarding school movement in the neighborhood, known as “Saxon Says No,” said in a statement.

“This is about protecting the integrity of our zoning laws — not opposing any individual or organization — zoning laws exist to preserve the character, integrity, and quality of life within our neighborhoods while ensuring that land uses are appropriate for their surroundings,” Colgan said.

Youth violence is becoming an increasingly serious concern across Vienna, with district leaders warning that gangs of young offenders are committing brutal attacks, robberies, vandalism, and assaults throughout the Austrian capital. Following a series of high-profile violent incidents, districts across the city are calling for stronger police presence and immediate action to restore public safety.

District representatives report repeated incidents involving fights, robberies, property damage, and attacks. They also warn that children under the age of 14 are becoming involved in criminal activity more frequently. Because these offenders are below the age of criminal responsibility, they often face no legal consequences after being apprehended by police.

One particularly striking example comes from Brigittenau, where district officials say a single suspect under the age of 14 is linked to 270 offenses, highlighting the difficulties authorities face when dealing with unpunishable repeat juvenile offenders.

District politicians also warn that the perpetrators are becoming not only younger but increasingly aggressive. Many see this as both a public security issue and a broader societal warning sign. They further argue that many known offenders operate across multiple districts, making it difficult for local authorities to respond effectively within their own jurisdictions.

A veteran Swedish police officer has warned that Islamisation will soon overtake migrant gang violence as the greatest threat facing the country.

Maria Rosander, who has served in the police for 17 years and leads the national-conservative Sweden Democrats in Uppsala County, said tougher criminal laws were beginning to reduce the shootings and bombings that have plagued Sweden for the past decade.

However, she argued that such measures cannot address religious segregation, Islamic radicalisation and the refusal of some migrant communities to assimilate.

In a recent interview, Rosander recounted the dramatic conditions that Swedish police officers have to face while in the line of duty since migrant crime skyrocketed in the past decade. Just last year, there were 189 bombings (as well as nearly three hundred foiled plans) in the country, along with 158 shootings, a number relatively low compared to the 2022 peak of 391.

Three rambunctious Moroccan “youths” attempted to make whoopee with a young lady in Playa de Palma on the Spanish island of Mallorca. When their advances were rejected, the young miscreants used violence in a bid to have their way with the reluctant victim. Fortunately, the young woman made a spirited defense, and came out of the incident with her virtue intact, despite having injuries from being beaten.

A Muslim outreach leader told visitors at a Plano mosque Saturday that Sharia is “already here,” describing it as a religious framework Muslims follow through charity, family obligations and personal conduct.

Outside the Islamic Association of Collin County, an Iran-born Christian who said he lived under Sharia offered a starkly different warning. He argued that Islamic law becomes dangerous when it gains political power and is enforced by the state.

It has been well over a year since I last reported on the murder of Saman Abbas in Italy. For readers who are unfamiliar with what happened, here is a précis of the case:

In the spring of 2021 a young Pakistani woman named Saman Abbas disappeared from the Italian town of Novellara. The local authorities eventually concluded that she had been “honor-killed” by her parents and male relatives for refusing to be married to her cousin and for daring to want to live like a normal teenage girl. It wasn’t until months later that her body was found.

Saman’s father and mother fled to Pakistan. Her uncle and two cousins were arrested in various European countries. At first her uncle Danish was identified as the likely killer, but he fingered her mother as the perpetrator.

Saman’s parents were tried and convicted — the mother in absentia, since she was still in Pakistan, although the father had been extradited — and sentenced to life in prison. Eventually her mother was also extradited to Italy.

As of my most recent reports, the two cousins had been acquitted when the parents were acquitted. However, in the interim the prosecution has appealed the acquittals, and the cousins were eventually convicted and sentenced to life.

After an appeal to the Court of Cassation, the court upheld the convictions. I’m not certain whether this is the end of all appeals, or whether there might possibly be more.

A Texas imam is under fire after appearing to celebrate the death of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, writing, “May you live an eternity in ruins.”

On July 12, hours after Graham’s death was announced, Omar Suleiman, president and co-founder of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, posted on social media.

“In other news, Lindsey Graham is dead,” Suleiman wrote. “Bye Lindsey. May you live an eternity in ruins for the ruins you helped create in Gaza. Ameen.”

His remarks sparked outrage among Republican lawmakers, with U.S. Rep. Chip Roy of Texas writing on social media, “A U.S. Senator dies—and an Imam in Texas celebrates. We are at war—and only one side understands it.”

A flight from Turkey to Düsseldorf became the scene of a violent altercation—with a ‘culture clash’ at the heart of the conflict.

In the early hours of June 1, a male passenger refused to take his assigned seat with Turkish Airlines because it would mean him sitting next to a woman. He explicitly cited Sharia law to justify his actions. When a female flight attendant approached the man to address his non-compliance and defuse the situation, the confrontation quickly escalated.

Witness testimonies now coming to light reveal that the passenger slapped the flight attendant during the dispute. Upon landing at Düsseldorf Airport, federal police officers immediately boarded the aircraft to secure the scene and file a formal report for bodily injury.

The suspect, identified as a German citizen of Turkish descent, reportedly admitted to the assault on the spot during his initial questioning by federal authorities.The investigation has since been handed over to the Düsseldorf Police Department for further legal action.

Industry estimates suggest that flight attendants now face some form of aggression on roughly one out of every 500 flights.
