Steve Sailer reports from the front.
To help understand the latest Becky Bashing in which a non-black woman riding on the DC Metro had distribution of her upcoming novel yanked because she dared to Police a Black Body by reporting a black female Metro employee for violating a Metro rule, here’s an article from the Washington Times in 2012 on why the DC Metro system is such a mess….

ZMan indulges in a little schadenfreude.
Way back in the olden thymes, there was a pop act called Milli Vanilli. They were sold as an R&B duo from Munich, but both members were black. That added to their appeal, even in the pre-woke 1980’s. Their debut album was wildly successful in Europe and the US, selling millions of copies. They won a Grammy and had a world tour. The whole thing fell apart when they foolishly revealed that neither of them sang the songs on their album and their shows were lip-synced. They were disgraced and that was the end of the act.
There is a whiff of that with the fallout from the Ben Shapiro interview on the BBC that has been making the rounds. He agreed to be questioned by Andrew Neil, without bothering to learn anything about the format of the show. The setup is the host grills the guest, giving them a chance to rise to the occasion and show their stuff. Alternatively, as in the case of Ben Shapiro, it is a chance for the guest to reveal themselves to be a lightweight incapable of playing with the big boys. It was not a good day for Ben Shapiro Inc.
ZMan doesn’t have much use for Ben Shapiro. I don’t dislike him as much as ZMan does, but I can’t say that I like him very much either.

The Other McCain speaks some inconvenient truth.
Clearly it is wrong to call yourself a Christian and advocate teachings that directly contradict the Bible. It’s heresy, and would not have been tolerated by previous generations of Christians, but nowadays anything believed by liberals will find some “Christian” advocates, who will be showered with praise (and book contracts, etc.) by all those institutions that promote liberalism. So if you want to advocate abortion, homosexuality and socialism, and claim to do this as a “Christian,” you’ll be applauded for doing so by, e.g., the New York Times and CNN.
Fortunately this problem is much smaller in the Orthodox Church, although it still can be found in certain circles.

The fiasco surrounding Amazon’s recent escape from New York reflects a broader, potentially devastating trend. By driving the Seattle-based behemoth out of the Big Apple, New York’s increasingly militant progressives have created a political paradigm that could resonate in cities across the country.
Simply put, after decades of trying to lure businesses, many cities are adopting political agendas—from minimum wage hikes to rent control and threatened tax boosts—that make them less attractive to both big firms and smaller businesses. This new development is being driven by demographic shifts as cities become more dominated by hipster radicals and increasingly polarized with little room for a middle ground between the very rich and the very poor.
Think of it as evolution in action.

The concerns about robots and artificial intelligence have come from scientists who express worries about killer robots with super intelligence taking over from dumber humans with less capabilities. Possibly, but it is more likely that these kind of concerns stem from an incorrect model or understanding of mind, consciousness, and creativity. I do wish that Michael Polanyi were still with us to give us his take on our proclivity to attribute intelligence to machines.

Jean-Jacques Savin set off from the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa, on December 26, 2018 — heading west in a barrel-shaped capsule he’d built himself.
Savin, 71 at the time of his departure, spent the first four months of 2019 inside his barrel, traveling at about two miles an hour with no engine, and relying entirely on the ocean current to guide his journey.
He surprised locals as he came ashore on the tiny Dutch Caribbean island of St. Eustatius shortly after midnight last week, bringing a mammoth, 2,930-mile journey to a close.
Must be nice to have that kind of time and money to waste.

This is classic Trump — whenever things quiet down and it appears that Democrats might be getting some traction with their own agenda, he takes a stick and starts beating on the side of their house. They then have to drop what they were doing and respond, while he ignores the barking and continues doing his own thing. This is especially effective in sucking all of the air out of the room with respect to the DemLegHump Media.

In a sense almost every Democrat running for president can be said to occupy a lane. For example, Pete Buttigieg seems to occupy the gay lane; Amy Klobuchar the lane for non-radical females. Cory Booker can be viewed as the great black male hope; Kamala Harris as his female counterpart. Beto O’Rourke inhabits the white hipster lane, and so forth.
I don’t think that the Democrats have a ‘successful manager’ lane. Gonna be hard to beat Trump at that one.

It’s a shot at McDonald’s Happy Meals, of course, which accommodate the needs of small children who want to halfheartedly interact with a plastic toy for an hour before it’s sent off for eternal interment in a landfill. Instead of insisting that everyone act happy, millennials are stressed by debt and famine and plague and insufficient Instagram follower counts. Every day, companies around the world execute a low-risk, high-return arbitrage: they buy the time and attention of some of the most highly-compensated professionals in the world?—?programmers, product managers, data scientists, quants, investment bankers, and lawyers?—?for the cost of a plate of pad thai. Given how much wealth is generated by companies that comp or subsidize employees’ food, and given that for each of those companies, getting smart people to work a little longer is a core competency, free food arguably belongs on the list of important technologies that have a visible impact on GDP growth.

There are a number of these services out there, some free, some not.
Despite their differences, they have the same goal: use daily exercises on your phone to teach you an entire language. It’s an enticing promise, especially if you’re not already immersed in a culture or education system that will give you the exposure you need to pick up a second language. The question is, are they effective?

For those who haven’t been paying attention, the issue is the legal status of phone information. Typically phone information is considered to fall under the ‘papers and effects’ of the Fourth Amendment, requiring a search warrant; but some courts have ruled that the passcode, being information in the brain, come under the ‘self-incrimination’ shield of the Fifth Amendment. So, faced with a locked phone, LEOs can get information out of the phone if they have a warrant and if they figure out a way to do so, but what they can’t do is force the owner to cough up the passcode. Needless today, LEOs are whining about this a lot (as they do).

The Obama administration issued a regulation that protected a state practice that had, by that time, been practiced for decades. Since the 1990s, states have accepted Medicaid money from the federal government meant for home health service providers, often the family or friends of the Medicaid-assistance recipient, according to the conservative think tank Freedom Foundation.
In distributing checks to the health providers, some states had begun skimming money and diverting it to unions and other interest groups in the form of dues, even though home health providers may not be members. The Center for Medicaid Services will begin cracking down on the process in July.

The AntiPlanner gives us some history.
Most of my work consisted of reviewing computer models, the data that went into those models, and the results that came out of those models. For most people, these models were “black boxes” that mysteriously turned raw data into a plan. But because I could get inside the models, I could see what the Forest Service was doing, where it was lying to the model, where it was lying to the public, and where it was lying to itself.
This experience made me an antiplanner, a skeptic of all long-range or comprehensive government planning. Whether planning a forest, a city, a regional transportation network, or world climate, all planning is based on models, which are simplifications of reality. Not all models are in computers, but the computerization of modeling forced government agencies to publicly reveal their biases. It became clear to me that the main winners in government planning were the planning agencies themselves, which gained power, budgetary authority, and prestige from taking control of public and private resources.

Steve Sailer tests the waters.
A third factor might be tied in to all the Becky Bashing, the War on Becky with the Good Hair. Black women increasingly hold the whip hand in the media. They usually seem to have the most Intersectional PoCemon Points. A very high priority for black women is intrasexual competition from women from races with longer hair. So why not make it fashionable to cover your hair, leveling the playing field?
It’s surprising the number of black women who do their best to have non-Negro hair, from straightening it like Michelle Obama to cutting it super-sort like the fat ugly women on TV to dying it a strange color as many activists do.

Hillary Clinton recently editorialized about the second volume of special counsel Robert Mueller’s massive report. She concluded of the report’s assorted testimonies and inside White House gossip concerning President Trump’s words and actions that “any other person engaged in those acts would certainly have been indicted.”
Psychologists might call her claims “projection.” That is the well-known psychological malady of attributing bad behavior to others as a means of exonerating one’s own similar, if not often even worse, sins.
