Cringely does LifeLock.
What LifeLock does primarily when you subscribe is they put a fraud alert on your file at all three national credit monitoring agencies — Equifax, Experian, and Trans-Union. A fraud alert says “this person’s identity has been stolen, don’t approve any unusual expenditures without proper verification. ” So the cable bill you’ve been paying with a credit card for five years still goes through but any new request for credit or an unusual expenditure gets flagged. The problem with this is that the fraud alert isn’t real; there has been no fraud. You only signed-up with LifeLock, which is now screaming at the credit bureaus that you’ve been ripped-off when, in fact, you haven’t.
Credit bureaus hate LifeLock.
But wait, Todd Davis (Mr. 457-55-5462) was ripped-off 13 times despite being a member of LifeLock. With an fraud alert on his file, how was this even possible?
Because the frauds didn’t involve his credit file.

Prosecutors in Milan brought the case after being contacted by charity Viva Down and argued that the boys privacy had been violated and that Google should have removed the footage quicker than it eventually did.
I’m trying to come up with some plausible excuse for an Italian court to have jurisdiction over three suits in California, and I’m not finding one. Apparently the boys that did the bullying are the alleged victims; that doesn’t say much good about the Italians.

I wonder whether he could be persuaded to take Mandela with him.
Well, we can hope.
The move by Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, King of the Thembu tribe, follows his conviction for multiple crimes including culpable homicide, kidnapping and arson, and a 15-year prison sentence. He was convicted of the offences last year but is appealing and has been granted bail in the meantime.
Yeah, I can see how that would sour relations somewhat.

It started its decline in 1966 and was totally uncouth by the mid-1980s. The turning point came when Stokely Carmichael coined the phrase black power at a 1966 rally in Mississippi. Until then, Negro was how most black Americans described themselves. But in Carmichael’s speeches and in his landmark 1967 book, Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America, he persuasively argued that the term implied black inferiority. Among black activists, Negro soon became shorthand for a member of the establishment. Prominent black publications like Ebony switched from Negro to black at the end of the decade, and the masses soon followed. According to a 1968 Newsweek poll, more than two-thirds of black Americans still preferred Negro, but black had become the majority preference by 1974. Both the Associated Press and the New York Times abandoned Negro in the 1970s, and by the mid-1980s, even the most hidebound institutions, like the U.S. Supreme Court, had largely stopped using Negro.

Let’s face it: the rules are different for white people. What would be called racism if I did it becomes perfectly acceptable when it is done by someone who has slightly more melanin in his skin or who bangs his head on the floor when he prays.
Is this racism? You betcha!
But it’s not my racism. It’s the racism of the ruling Multicultural elite, who believe that black and brown people are not capable of civilized behavior, and thus refuse to hold them to the same standards that white people are expected to meet.
So if most of my friends are white, or if I hire mostly white employees to work for my business, then I’m a racist. Period. No court of appeal.
But nobody thinks anything of it if all of an African-American’s friends are black. And if an Iranian businessman has nothing but fellow Iranians as employees, what’s the big deal? It’s diversity at work — something to be celebrated.

The Marine Climate Change Impacts Partnership (MCCIP) report card said the increasing acidity of the oceans caused by carbon dioxide could affect the climate further and hit wildlife.
And who are they?
The report was produced by five groups of experts for the MCCIP, a coalition of scientists, the Government and devolved administrations, agencies and charities.
In other words, people who have a vested interest in climate alarmism and increased goverment spending.
In response to the threat, the Government today announced an £11 million, five-year project to investigate the effects of acidification on biodiversity, habitats, species and wider economic and social impacts in the north east Atlantic, Antarctic and Arctic oceans.
So: mission accomplished.

The mayor of Calais, Natacha Bouchart, has blamed Britain’s asylum and benefits system for “imposing” thousands of illegal migrants on her town.
Mrs Bouchart pointed out that the Calais Chamber of Trade was having to spend £12 million each year securing the port area – money she suggested the French government should pay back.
But it was Britain’s immigration system which was predominantly to blame for thousands of Africans, eastern Europeans and people from central Asia trying to clamber aboard lorries and trains in Calais to get to the UK every day.
“Requesting asylum is easier with them (the British) than in France,” said Mrs Bouchart.
“The asylum seeker is given accommodation and receives £31 to £40 a week according to their case, when the annual salary of the average Eritrean is around $200 (£136).
“That seems enormous and it’s attractive, even if in some places it’s nothing.”
I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked.

These people are intactivists. As in, activists who want male genitalia kept intact. As in, people who want a federal ban on male circumcision for newborns.
Well, if you’ve got a preference, make it a federal ban. It’s all the rage.
How intactivists define circumcision: a cruel, traumatic and unnecessary surgery (the American Academy of Pediatrics says the benefits are not sufficient enough to recommend the procedure) that causes enduring sexual and psychological injury to a helpless infant who can’t give his consent.
How much of the medical community defines circumcision: a simple, nearly painless operation that removes an obsolete part of the body that can increase a man’s susceptibility to infections and sexually transmitted diseases (circumcision reduces the risk of getting HIV by 60 percent, studies show).
And of course those are absolutely of equal weight.
It is a sensitive issue. Pun absolutely intended.
Couldn’t have said it better myself….

Bear in mind that a “massacre” is what occurs when one or more Palestinians are killed by Israelis. When a suicide bomber blows up dozens of Jews, or a Qassam rocket drops into a school, that’s not a massacre. It’s an act of random vandalism, or a criminal matter to be investigated by the appropriate authorities, or justifiable resistance against illegal occupation by a foreign power, or an understandable reaction to decades of apartheid oppression.
Take your pick. But, unless Palestinians are dead, it’s not a massacre.
