Frustration and Optimism in New Orleans

Nearly three years after Hurricane Katrina devastated their city, New Orleanians are deeply dissatisfied with the rebuilding and feel overlooked by the federal government, the national media and the American public.

In other words, they aren’t getting enough handouts and unconditional love.

    Go to Google Maps and enter New Orleans. Click on Street View. Check out Lakeview, Gentilly, the Ninth Ward, New Orleans East. Would you be satisfied living like this THREE YEARS after disaster?

    No, I wouldn’t — but I wouldn’t be sitting around whining and waiting for somebody else to fix it, either.
