The official account of what happened in Ceuta on July 30th has just suffered its most serious blow from within the Spanish state itself.

A confidential report prepared by the National Police’s Centre for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) maintains that the mass entry was not a spontaneous phenomenon caused simply by traffickers, social media, or a temporary failure of Morocco’s border-control apparatus, as the government and media outlets aligned with it have argued for the past month.

According to the document, uniformed officers and members of Morocco’s security forces operating in plain clothes actively participated in organising and directing the groups that advanced towards Spanish territory.

Italy’s political row over judges’ lenient handling of migrant criminals has intensified after a 42-year-old Bangladeshi shop assistant accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in the outskirts of Turin was released from prison after just two nights.

The crime occurred on Saturday, August 29th in Madonna di Campagna, a multi-ethnic district in the northern Italian city.

According to the girl’s account, she entered a minimarket to buy three fruit drinks for her younger siblings. She said the shop assistant gave her a drink, asked whether she had a boyfriend and how old she was, before sexually assaulting her.

Police arrested the man shortly afterwards, with surveillance footage from the shop forming part of the evidence. Prosecutors requested that he remain in custody. However, a judge ordered his release, only requiring him to report to the police.

The judge cited the suspect’s lack of previous convictions, his co-operation with investigators, and his expression of remorse.

The decision has provoked heavy criticism, particularly because authorities allege that the same man had sexually assaulted another woman around 40 minutes before the incident involving the girl.

The Biden Administration enacted hundreds of punitive actions against the domestic oil and gas industry. The Trump Administration has worked to reverse this overreach. The latest reversal concerns a Bureau of Land Management’s proposal to lower statewide bonding on oil and gas leases from $500,000 to $25,000.

In protest, the Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) and other left-of-center environmental organizations claim that companies will be incited to abandon wells and stick taxpayers with the cleanup bill. EEN misleadingly argues that “asking companies to cover their own cleanup costs is not a regulatory burden….”

To clarify, the BLM is proposing to shift the state bonding minimums back to what they were prior to 2024, consistent with the White House’s intent to reduce regulatory barriers to energy production. The higher minimums imposed in 2024 have not taken effect yet, as the BLM had extended the phase-in date to June of 2027.

Representatives on the House Oversight Committee Task Force on Protecting Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses, held a hearing today on the subject of Birthright Citizenship and immigration fraud [hearing below].

The committee subpoenaed Dr. Wladimir Lorentz, the owner and founder of Miami Medical Concierge Services, following his refusal to testify. The committee intended to ask questions about the company’s role in arranging births for foreign nationals. Following the subpoena, Dr Lorentz invoked the Fifth Amendment to every question, citing a pending federal investigation into his business, also known as “Have My Baby in Miami.”

A watchdog group is pressing New York to act against the lawyer for E. Jean Carroll for allegedly failing to disclose that Democrat donor Reid Hoffman bankrolled the defamation lawsuit against President Donald Trump.

In July, the National Legal and Policy Center filed a bar complaint with the Attorney Grievance Committee against Roberta Kaplan, Carroll’s lawyer, alleging that she was not transparent about the role of Democrat megadonor Hoffman, a co-founder of LinkedIn, in bankrolling Carroll’s lawsuit.

By August, the committee dismissed the complaint without addressing the question directly.

“The dismissal was made without conducting any investigation, let alone a ‘thorough investigation’ that this committee promises to undertake for misconduct complaints,” the appeal filed by Paul Kamenar, chief counsel for the National Legal and Policy Center, says.

The appeal said the essence of the original complaint was that “Kaplan waited almost six months after the deposition of her client, E. Jean Carroll, until the eve of trial to correct Ms. Carroll’s false statement in an October 2022 deposition that she was not receiving any outside funding for her defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump.”

The law firm America First Legal released a parental rights toolkit Tuesday, explaining how a law that protects the rights of disabled children also helps parents defend their rights when schools adopt policies hiding a child’s transgender identity from parents.

“Parents hold the fundamental and constitutionally-protected right to direct the upbringing of their children, and that includes authority over their children’s education,” Julie Alexa Strauss, general counsel at America First Legal, said in a statement on the new toolkit, exclusively provided first to the Daily Signal. “Yet today, radicalized school personnel are exploiting their access to children, particularly vulnerable children with disabilities—often behind closed doors—to push ideological agendas.”

“Congress gave parents of children with special needs powerful legal rights, but too many families are never made aware of just how extensive those protections are,” Strauss added. “AFL’s IDEA Toolkit helps parents understand those rights, empowers parents to assert their authority, and holds schools accountable when they overstep the law.”

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, first passed in 1975 but renamed in 1990, guarantees children with disabilities access to a free, appropriate public education.

America First Legal argues that the law “also gives parents extensive authority over evaluations, educational services, school records, and individualized education programs.”

The law firm states that its “IDEA toolkit arms parents with an arsenal of tools designed to ensure that they, not the government, remain in control of their children’s education.”

The Justice Department’s new report on the Richmond Catholic memo reveals that the FBI had cited the Southern Poverty Law Center more than 22,000 times, at times without any caveats, even though FBI policies would require any SPLC citation to note potential bias and contested credibility.

The Richmond office of the FBI published the notorious memo on Jan. 23, 2023, claiming that “racially-motivated violent extremists” were seeking to recruit “radical traditional Catholics.” The memo didn’t just cite the SPLC, it did so without any caveats about the SPLC’s questionable credibility.

The SPLC has explicitly stated that it “did not provide any information or communicate with any FBI personnel involved in preparing this Richmond Field Office memo.” Yet newly released documents reveal the FBI citing the SPLC without caveats, at a time when the SPLC maintained close ties to the Biden Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

The FBI publicly retracted the Richmond Catholic memo one day after it leaked, and a newly disclosed Feb. 21, 2023, Analytic Tradecraft Review explains why.

Among other things, the tradecraft review faults the memo for failing to “provide any details regarding any potential bias/credibility of the sources, including concerning SPLC.”

Today’s federal government employs over 2 million people. It is composed of over 400 agencies that often combine legislative, executive, and judicial powers. These agencies regulate nearly all areas of life from cradle to grave. We may take this arrangement for granted, but it is far from what the Founders envisioned. For them, the federal government was meant to have a limited range of power. And these powers were to be assiduously separated, checked, and balanced by the constitutional system they crafted.

How did we go so far astray? The progressive era marks a key turning point. Woodrow Wilson, foremost among progressives, offered a candid vision of a new form of government in his 1912 presidential campaign speech.

Actually, the rot started with Theodore Roosevelt, who (be it remembered) also claimed to be a ‘progressive’. If I could strangle at birth only one American historical figure, I’d do TR before I’d do WW.

With this understanding, one may happily recommend Georges Tamer’s recently translated book, Islamic Philosophy and the Crisis of Modernity: Leo Strauss’s Relationship with al-Fârâbî, Avicenna, and Averroes. The author makes clear arguments, and his translator writes good English prose. But the book is not light reading. It is a prescription dose of deep research and astute scholarship. Following two hundred pages of densely argued text are 120 pages of appendix, endnotes, and bibliography. Tamer draws information from a multitude of authorities, both primary and secondary. He uses sources written in Arabic, Latin, English, German, and French. Whatever this approach sacrifices in readability, it makes up for in credibility. Tamer knows what he is talking about.

One of the biggest puzzles in origin of life research comes before the first cells even existed: How could RNA molecules gather in one place, interact, and help produce early life without cellular compartments to hold them together?

Without those boundaries, fragile RNA molecules would have struggled to encounter one another often enough in the primordial soup, while also surviving the hot and acidic conditions thought to characterize early Earth.

One possible solution is RNA’s ability to collect into liquid-like droplets known as condensates. These structures have no membrane, but they could have concentrated RNA molecules in small spaces, giving them more opportunities to interact while potentially offering some protection from harsh surroundings.

Across the U.S., an increasing number of young adults are treating the traditional wedding altar like a hazardous waste site. Their mass refusal to pair up fuels a predictable spiral. Fewer marriages produce fewer babies, and a society without babies eventually ceases to exist.

Part of this transformation is being driven by a massive demographic shift in higher education. Women now earn roughly 60 percent of bachelor’s degrees. This educational imbalance directly feeds into the white-collar economy. A large cadre of corporate women now routinely out-earn their male romantic partners, creating a dynamic the old domestic playbooks never anticipated.

The problem is 150 years of feminism. Feminism attempts to turn women into fake men, men into fake women, and our culture into a biohazard site.

To be clear, nobody is asking Congress to subsidize bonnets or sourdough starter kits. But the harsh reality is that the legacy model of holy matrimony has run face-first into an economy that renders it functionally useless. The nuclear family structure was built for an agrarian or industrial landscape, leaving it ill-suited to a service economy driven by laptop-wielding professionals.

Molecules are among the smallest building blocks available for making next-generation devices. Their unique, customizable properties enable promising applications in emerging computing, sensing, optical, and quantum technologies.

But integrating molecules into functional devices at scale remains a challenge. Traditional semiconductor manufacturing processes can damage small and fragile molecular materials. Now, MIT researchers have developed a scalable fabrication technique that incorporates delicate molecular materials into electronic devices on a chip without causing damage.

Their method extends the capabilities of standard semiconductor manufacturing processes to accommodate molecules. The researchers first prefabricate the device components using traditional processes. Then, they introduce the molecules and harness nanoscale surface forces to mechanically transform the fabricated device, which self-assembles without damaging the molecules.

Last week, speaking to French business leaders gathered by Medef (Mouvement des entreprises de France—France’s leading employers’ organisation) in Paris, the Commission president lamented that such a large share of European household savings remains in bank deposits. “Unfortunately, these savings are lazy,” she said, before arguing that Europe needs to put that money “at the service of its companies.”

For now, there is no plan to confiscate deposits or withdraw money from individual bank accounts. Brussels’ proposal is different and, precisely for that reason, more politically significant: to use tax incentives, new financial products, regulatory changes, and more integrated supervision to push a greater share of private savings towards European capital markets.

This is the so-called Savings and Investments Union, presented in March 2025. The Commission estimates that around 70% of EU household savings, roughly €10 trillion, remains in bank deposits. The measures under consideration include investment accounts with tax advantages, changes to securitisation rules and regulations intended to facilitate greater participation by banks, insurers and funds.

A man in his 50s has died after being seriously assaulted outside a restaurant in Sweden after trying to defend his daughter from a group of young men who had been groping her.

Authorities have not yet released information about the suspects’ nationality, ethnicity, or background, raising the suspicion among social media users that the perpetrators may be migrants.

Police were called to the centre of the Swedish city of Karlstad at about 1.25 a.m. on Sunday, August 30th after a violent disturbance broke out outside a fast food restaurant.

Officers found a middle-aged man seriously injured at the scene. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.

Two men in their 20s have been arrested and detained on suspicion of manslaughter, after the police initially treated the case as aggravated assault. Reports have also suggested that a third man may have been arrested, although authorities have not confirmed the exact number of suspects.

The man in question is Amer G., a Syrian asylum seeker who reportedly arrived in Germany in 2015 and has become known in Witten for publicly reciting verses from the Quran using a loudspeaker.

For years, residents have complained about Amer’s loud recitations. According to reports, he walks through Witten’s city center on a daily basis, while reciting Quran verses, sometimes in the early morning hours. Police and the public order office have been dealing with the man for a long time.

According to the job center documents, Amer continues to receive €563 per month in citizen’s allowance as a single person. His current benefit approval period is scheduled to run until July 2027. He currently lives in a homeless shelter and therefore does not receive additional housing allowance. Yet despite receiving benefits, the man has reportedly not been invited to job search interviews for years. Support programs and concrete employment offers have also largely ceased.

This week, the Trump administration found itself in a familiar position: facing an injunction from Judge Indira Talwani of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Indeed, it had just secured an order from the Supreme Court on its emergency docket lifting her earlier injunction on the U.S. Postal Service requiring voting lists to confirm U.S. citizenship.

The case against the executive order on mail-in ballots has reasonable arguments on both sides, although (as I have said previously) the challengers are likely to prevail in defeating the rule or at least delaying the policy until after the midterm elections. The Constitution gives states the primary responsibility over “the times, places, and manner of holding elections.”

However, the U.S. Postal Service is a federal agency, and the federal government does have a role in the funding and regulation of federal elections. More importantly, the Trump administration is arguing that it is not barring mail-in voting but merely imposing “modest informational requirements.” Non-citizens cannot vote in federal elections, and the new rule “does not displace a single state election law. And it need not and should not prevent a single voter from voting by mail.”

The controversy over Talwani is not necessarily the merits of her decision that the rule convenes the constitutional framework. Indeed, the Supreme Court did not rule on the merits and could well rule in favor of her interpretation. The controversy is the pattern of sweeping injunctions by Talwani and a few other judges.

Litigants have been accused of forum-shopping by going to liberal, Democratically appointed judges to prevent Trump policies from being implemented in a wide array of areas, including immigration, elections, reduction in government bureaucracies, and foreign aid.

Like her colleague in Boston, U.S. District Court Judge Brian Murphy, Talwani is viewed by many as a one-stop-shop judge for forum-shopping. Both have issued hair-trigger injunctions, and both have been repeatedly reversed.

Nearly five years ago, Congress passed the infrastructure bill, formally known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Supposedly it was needed to fix crumbling infrastructure, but the crumbling infrastructure that is most heavily used — city- and county-owned streets and bridges — received hardly any money from the law. Instead, most of the money went for new infrastructure that, if built, will probably soon be crumbling because politicians would rather support glitzy new projects than maintain old ones.

To be culturally accurate, I should say that he “reverted to Islam”, because according to Islamic doctrine, everyone is actually born Muslim, and the convert is simply returning to his native faith.

The visit is part of a greater Democrat Party effort to strengthen political alliances with world immigrants and Islamic immigrants in particular.

In bombshell findings, Los Angeles County sliced a wildfire housing fund in half and steered the cash toward households claiming income loss from ICE raids, detentions, and deportations – without requiring anyone to disclose immigration status.

Taxpayers who watched entire neighborhoods burn in January 2025 now watch the same government treat federal immigration enforcement as another “emergency” worthy of six-figure rent wipeouts.

After the Eaton and Palisades fires, supervisors approved $10 million to help tenants and landlords dealing with fire-related rent losses. They then kept $5 million for fire claims and moved the other $5 million into a priority category covering “economic hardship because of federal actions targeting immigrant communities.” Another $9.788 million from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund was pointed at the same category unless fire victims still had unmet need.

It was past 11 p.m. on July 4, 2025, when police in Alvarado, Texas, stopped the red van that had been circling streets near the scene of a shooting. The first officer to look inside the van spotted a firearm on the front passenger side floorboard and immediately told the officer on the other side to detain the driver, who gave his name as “Meagan Morris.”

Morris had apparently driven comrades in an Antifa terrorist cell to the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Prairieland Detention Facility, where several of them began shooting fireworks toward the facility, while another terrorist, Benjamin Song, stood watch with an AR-15-style rifle. The plan for this “protest,” as the participants called it, had been hatched at a communal home in Dallas known as “The Big Gay House,” where 10 activists including Morris lived together.

After the fireworks and vandalism began, security officials inside the ICE facility called 911. The first law enforcement officer to arrive on the scene was Alvarado Police Lt. Thomas Gross. The Antifa terrorists began to flee. Gross shouted for them to stop and drew his pistol. Song nearby opened fire, hitting Gross in the shoulder, but the officer managed to stay in the fight. Gross fired three shots, one of which struck Song’s rifle, causing it to jam. Song took off running. He managed to remain at large for the next 11 days before finally being apprehended at a Dallas hideout.

CTH continues to get considerable questioning about how the U.S-Canada fracture will take place, what it means for the Canadian dollar (CAD) and when the issues can be expected to apex. It appears that part of the reasoned disconnect people are struggling with is directly related to the messaging from the Canadian government in combination with the financial media.

In short, despite the increased trade friction, a decoupling of the U.S. economy from the Canadian economy just seems unfathomable to most observers. The main question we receive is ‘when will things happen‘? Meaning when will financial markets react? The most obvious answer to that question is, when the USA announces the termination of the USMCA (CUSMA) trilateral.

If you hold the opinion that all of these trade friction points will be resolved within the margins of the USMCA, then it is correct to predict that no significant material impact will be felt north of the border. If, however, you hold the opinion that the USMCA will be terminated because the core of the issues between the two countries are irreconcilable, then the material impact will come as soon as that announcement is made.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, the only Canadian government official to attend President Trump’s inauguration, appears on Fox Business. Like all other Canadian officials, she cannot contemplate the elimination of CUSMA/NAFTA. Such an outcome is simply beyond her comprehension.

James Talarico, the Democrat candidate from Texas running for the U.S. Senate, recently weighed in on the conviction of Karmelo Anthony for the April 2025 murder of Austin Metcalf.

“Right now, we’ve got a system that doesn’t serve all Americans equally, and, and we know that black Texans have been, um, have not gotten the justice they deserve,” he said.

This is a perfect illustration of the Sixth Woke Commandment in my book “The Ten Woke Commandments (You Must Not Obey)”—“You Shall Be Woke to Imaginary Oppression.”

Anthony was convicted by a jury drawn from the area he lived in. He told police, “I was protecting myself,” but those jurors apparently did not believe he was reasonably in fear of his life so as to justify fatally plunging a knife into another boy’s heart.

Activists and race-hustlers in Texas and nationally claimed that Anthony was unfairly convicted, mostly because there were no African American jurors. The ugly implication is that black jurors would ignore the facts and decide guilt or innocence based on race alone. I hope not.

Of course they do. That’s what identity politics is all about.

More than 100 children aged 12 or under were referred to the British government’s Forced Marriage Unit between 2021 and 2025, new Home Office figures show.

The figures include 27 children aged five or under.

Dame Jasvinder Sanghera, a campaigner who escaped a forced marriage when she was 14, described the number of very young children as “deeply disturbing.”

She warned that some children could disappear from school because they had been taken away for a forced marriage.

“I know that when schools open in September, there will be missing children,” she said. She also warned that some children could return to school engaged or even married.

Dame Jasvinder said some children could be “promised to somebody from birth,” with the marriage taking place many years later.

Over time, the equipment declined due to inadequate maintenance. As the decline continued, the amount of oil drilled, pumped, and transported also declined. The socialists blamed others and vowed to fix the problems, but the decline continued. The post-Maduro government, at gunpoint, is now putting America companies back in charge.

Until the next Democrat President gives it all away again.

New York City has been the real “city that could” for generations. California’s natural gifts, and the talent those gifts attracted, made California our most populated, our richest, and our most visited state. Vast areas of Texas are attractive only to Texans. The most beautiful parts of Texas would be considered below average in many states.

The defining story, so far, of the American 21st Century is the migration of wealth and talent out of California and New York into Florida and Texas.

Clyburn begins his remarks in this segment by decrying Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for not adhering to the manipulative racial expectations of his position. Clyburn then advocates for adding as many justices as needed in order to advance his agenda.

We know Trump-deranged New York Attorney General Letitia James campaigned on jailing the president, but an explosive all-staff email from one of her star prosecutors Friday claims her office explicitly directed him to “find and pursue crimes” to pin on Donald Trump and his allies, according to the Albany Times- Union.

In a bridge-burning email to 2,000 colleagues at 10 a.m. Friday, Assistant Attorney General Daniel Wiesenfeld claimed that he had been instructed by his supervisor “to find and pursue crimes committed by specific individuals and organizations affiliated with Donald Trump.”

“The best part of having f–k you money is being able to tell the truth, without fear of consequences so here we go,” his email began, before listing James’ efforts to frame Trump, according to a readout provided to The Post.

Wiesenfeld, 34, alleged his boss, bureau chief Shamiso Maswoswe, directed him to target “Trump himself, Truth Social, Hewlett Packard (DOJ approved merger) .?.?. without having a credible reason for targeting these organizations and individuals .?.?.

“Presumably she acted at the behest of Tish [James] .?.?.

“Tish’s personal grudges with Trump sets the agenda. Find a crime and any crime of his would do.”

Suspected travellers have bulldozed a wildlife haven in an alleged bank holiday land grab.

Heavy machinery was used to destroy the field in the town of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, over the weekend.

The unauthorised work in Sheering Mill Lane began early on Saturday morning, apparently to clear space for mobile homes, and prompted an angry response from residents.

Hundreds of people protested as diggers tore up the “wildlife hotspot” and builders installed fencing.

The work was carried out without planning permission and has since led to the council successfully appealing to the High Court for an injunction to halt all construction.

Councillor Greg Rattey, a former Sawbridgeworth mayor, said residents were dismayed by the “illegal settlement” that he said had been “built by travellers”.

The US government is exploring an unusual legal route for dealing with Iranian oil and ships captured as part of its blockade: bringing back a wartime maritime system that has barely been used for generations, according to Bloomberg.

The Justice Department, working with the Pentagon, is preparing to use prize law, which historically allowed courts to decide whether vessels and cargo captured during armed conflict could legally become property of the United States. The mechanism was once commonplace in naval warfare but largely disappeared from American practice after the 19th century and has been dormant since World War II.

The appeal for the administration is largely practical. At present, the government generally relies on civil forfeiture to take ownership of vessels accused of sanctions violations or other offenses. Those cases can become complicated and slow, particularly when shipping companies, creditors, terrorism victims or other parties assert competing rights to the ship or its cargo. A prize proceeding could potentially narrow those disputes and allow captured oil to be sold more quickly, with the proceeds going to the US Treasury.

The Department of Health and Human Services commissioned a study that found a measurable link between accepting transgender ideology and supporting left-wing political violence.

Researchers at Rutgers University, the Manhattan Institute and the Network Contagion Research Institute produced the report, called “Where the Clinic Meets the Movement: Does Gender Ideology Arm Left-Wing Authoritarian Psychology?” which was obtained by the New York Post ahead of its release.
