Bar Complaint: Letitia James Must Exit Cornell 7 Case
10th October 2026
An anti-corruption group has filed a bar complaint demanding New York Attorney General Letitia James exit the “Cornell 7” case over a post she wrote before becoming special prosecutor, the New York Post reported.
The nine-page complaint went to the Attorney Grievance Committee, the state court system’s lawyer-discipline panel, the Post reported.
Its author, the National Legal and Policy Center, is a Falls Church, Virginia, group that says it works to expose corruption in government and business.
The complaint argues James compromised herself by publicly siding with Jane Doe, the pseudonym of a former Cornell University student who says seven members of the school’s Chi Phi fraternity, since dubbed the “Cornell 7,” drugged and gang-raped her in October 2024.
Judging by the published texts I’ve seen from the ‘victim’ to the ‘perpetrators’, I think ‘Jane Doe’ is going to have an uphill climb….
