One might think that the worst of online leftism can be found on Twitter, but you’d be wrong. Instagram is home to a plethora of sharable infographics that serve to propagate the woke orthodoxy to as many young minds as possible. Specifically, the account Impact has some of the most hilariously bad takes in the world of lefty infographic drivel.
Seven out of 10 people aged 18-29 use Instagram, and the platform is relatively on par with Twitter in serving as a news source, according to Pew Research Center. Instagram is a broad, direct avenue for ideas to be disseminated to the youth.

Coordination among the authorities and the mainstream media operatives is so blatant one might conclude is so blatant as to be laughable. We miss Rush Limbaugh’s recurring demonstration of the phenomenon. The FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence is only the latest in a long line of examples. Word came down that what was once a “raid” is now a “search.”
The conformity of the talking heads is mind-boggling. The element of high-mindedness they add to their conformity is comical. Those falling into line can’t help but add a large, large dose of self-love to their humiliating compliance.

ZMan looks at the Deep State.
The Russian collusion hoax is a good entry point in understanding the appeal of the deep state concept. Most of the people who hated Trump could not tell you why they hated him so much. The deep state concept filled that whole. Trump was in league with those dark forces that manipulate the world. On the other hand, Trump supporters could rely on the deep state to explain why the system attacked Trump. Both sides of the Trump story could sense the Cancer Man in the room.
John Derbyshire famously said, “The ordinary modes of human thinking are magical, religious, social, and personal. We want our wishes to come true; we want the universe to care about us; we want the approval of those around us; we want to get even with that s.o.b. who insulted us at the last tribal council. For most people, wanting to know the cold truth about the world is way, way down the list.” From that it should be easy to see why the deep state is a popular villain.
Another reason people like the idea of secret actors controlling events is that it is easier to hate a person than a process. Anyone who has worked with big complex systems knows the frustration of not having someone to blame. The people are all doing the right thing, both morally and technically, yet the results are wrong. There is no one to blame but the system and the system is the result of all of those correct and well-intended actions by the people involved.

The World Economic Forum, assisted by food researchers in academia, wants you to believe that meat is unhealthy compared to soy, tofu, insect and fungus protein diets. Statistical workings of food research are presented here to show this is not true. Food frequency questionnaires (FFQs) are used in studies of population cohorts. Years later, this information together with health outcome observations are combined in statistical analyses. These analyses easily lead to over 20,000 food?disease associations tested in a typical FFQ study – called multiple testing. Researchers can then search thru and select and only report the results they want, but many of these can be false. Red meat is not unhealthy. It is belief of deceptive statistical practices and false claims from academic food researchers that are unhealthy.

Even before the hapless Biden Administration decided to make a yuuuge in-kind contribution to the Trump 2024 campaign by raiding his Florida home in search of . . . classified documents?!(yeah, right), everything I have been hearing from people who have spoken with Trump or been close to Trumpworld all say the same thing: he’s running again.
Perhaps it is only a coincidence, but the day after the raid, Trump released this very powerful video about “A Nation in Decline,” which I heard John Podhoretz (no Trump fan) say is the most effective short piece of political communication since Reagan in 1979-80. It’s just three minutes long, and worth watching. See if you notice what’s not said in this spot.

Let’s hope Merrick Garland’s search of Mar-a-Lago is based on more evidence than his indictment of the Louisville, Kentucky, police officers involved in the raid on Breonna Taylor’s house.
That passive construction I just used — “involved in the raid on,” instead of “who raided” — is not sloppy writing: It’s the facts. The officers who actually shot Taylor have not been charged, apparently on the flimsy grounds that they were being shot at when they fired.
Instead, our lunatic attorney general has indicted officers who prepared the affidavit used to obtain the warrant to search Taylor’s home. In the words of the indictment, the affidavit “contained information that was false, misleading and out-of-date … and the officers lacked probable cause for the search.”
I am thankful that we didn’t have to suffer him being a Supreme Court Justice.

For decades, schoolchildren across America have taken field trips to presidential homes such as George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and James Madison’s Montpelier. Students and adults alike have learned about the lives and legacies of the men who crafted our founding documents and stood for freedom at the risk of their own lives.
But today, visitors to Monticello and Montpelier will discover that a new narrative has seeped into the grounds of these historic sites in Virginia.

Trump released a statement that is lengthy, but worth reading in its entirety:

Aldo Steinfeld, a professor at ETH Zürich’s Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, says his system for converting ambient air into jet-ready kerosene fuel using a solar refinery tower isn’t science fiction. It’s simply thermodynamics.
In a two-year proof-of-concept test atop ETH Zürich’s Machine Laboratory building in Switzerland back in 2019, Steinfeld’s mini solar refinery first showed how the process works, and laid the groundwork to scale the project. Both carbon dioxide (CO2) and water are extracted directly from ambient air and split using solar energy, as Steinfeld describes his work in a new paper, published late last month in the journal Joule. The result is syngas, a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which is then processed into kerosene.

Amazon.com Inc.’s $1.7 billion acquisition of robot vacuum cleaner company iRobot Corp. is a move by the megacorporation to use Roombas to map the interior of homes. This data type is a digital gold mine for Amazon because if marketers know more about what’s inside, they can easily create tailormade ads.
From a market perspective, Amazon’s acquisition of iRobot is to gain deeper insight into customers’ homes via the autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner called “Roomba.”

Unless scores of witnesses saw Donald Trump stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone, the FBI’s raid of his Mar-a-Lago home represents an unforgivable politicization of our justice system. The proof rests in the peaceful, undisturbed abodes of Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, James Comey, Stefan Halper, Rodney Joffe and every other partisan the FBI investigated without violating the sanctuary of their homes.
On Monday, news broke that the FBI had raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Conservatives justifiably doubt that probable cause supported the search, but an even broader swath of America should see the Bureau’s raid as an affront to equal justice under the law and the weaponization of the Justice Department against its political enemies.

What do we know? Law enforcement leaks and confirmation from the Trump side indicate that the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence indicate that the search was focused on presidential records and the possible violation of the Presidential Records Act. In her inside account of the raid, Miranda Devine puts it this way: “The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.”
The scope of the seized documents, however, may have extended well beyond the terms of the warrant. It appears that the FBI scooped up just about every document at the residence. I take it that the authorities are out to get Trump.
That seems a reasonable assumption.
The Attorney General and the FBI are not talking in public. You see, they are involved in an ongoing investigation. Confidentiality is sacred.
“[M]ultiple people familiar with the investigation” nevertheless spoke with the three New York Times reporters who wrote up the raid. Funny how that works.

ZMan scratches his head.
The Clinton-Trump connection is useful for understanding the weirdness of the current age, because the two of them have a lot of connections. Bill Clinton and Donald Trump were golf buddies and bonded over their carnal interests. They both hated Hillary Clinton for the same reasons. Both had a thing for shady land deals and the shady people who operate in that space. Their existence is more a symptom of a larger problem than the cause of anything we see today.
Putting the personal comparisons aside, the transition from the old way of doing things to this new way is evident in this comparison. Bill and Hillary Clinton were spectacularly corrupt politicians, but once they were out of office no one thought it was a good idea to keep pursuing their criminal activity. That was the old thinking. The new thinking has the FBI raiding Trump’s home over a petty issue. In that Clinton-Trump window, much has changed and changed unexpectedly.

President Biden stood outside the White House on Tuesday, celebrating what was arguably the best stretch of his presidency. He smiled. He basked, aviators firmly in place, in the sun. He signed his latest legislative priority into law.
“Decades from now, people are going to look back at this week — with all we passed, and all we moved on — [and say] that we met the moment at this inflection point in history,” Biden said, before signing a bill to boost semiconductor manufacturing.
That may be true. But they also may not remember it tomorrow. Cable news channels covered his remarks, but then quickly returned to the topic they had been covering before the brief Biden interlude: Donald Trump.

FBI agents scoured Melania Trump’s wardrobe and spent several hours combing through Donald Trump’s private office, breaking open his safe and rifling through drawers when they raided the former First Family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida Monday morning.
The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.
A source close to the former president expressed concern that FBI agents or DOJ lawyers conducting the search could have “planted stuff” because they would not allow Trump’s attorneys inside the 128-room building to observe the operation, which lasted more than nine hours.

We’ve reached the stage of American history where everything we see on the news must first be understood as political theater. In other words, the messaging layer of news now almost always dominates the factual narrative, with the latter often reported so unreliably as to be meaningless anyway. Yesterday’s sensational tale of the FBI raiding the Mar-a-Lago home of former president Donald Trump is no different.
As of now, it’s impossible to say if Trump’s alleged offense was great, small, or in between. But this for sure is a huge story, and its hugeness extends in multiple directions, including the extraordinary political risk inherent in the decision to execute the raid. If it backfires, if underlying this action there isn’t a very substantial there there, the Biden administration just took the world’s most reputable police force and turned it into the American version of the Tonton Macoute on national television. We may be looking at simultaneously the dumbest and most inadvertently destructive political gambit in the recent history of this country.

Ten companies exist on the planet today that were founded before 1000 AD. Seven of those are Japanese, the oldest being Kong? Gumi, a construction firm founded by three craftsmen from Korea who took a commission from Prince Sh?toku in 578 AD. Sh?toku was the great early patron of Japanese Buddhism and was responsible for constructing the Shitenn?-ji temple, Japan’s oldest Buddhist house of worship (still in operation, image above). The Kong? clan continued to operate their family firm for centuries, contributing for example to the construction of Osaka Castle in the 1500’s. In the early 2000’s, a scion of this business dynasty, Masakazu Kong?, was still Kong? Gumi’s CEO. But his poor business decisions finally led to its acquisition by a larger firm in 2006. The drab white left and its minority whipping class consists of the worst people in the world. They are the worst because they have fostered a culture that encourages destroying the things they secretly admire and promoting the things they privately hold in contempt. The left cannot stand being reminded of achievements it has never achieved and thus assumes moral superiority in order to circumvent personal integrity. Unfortunately, the most destructive representative of this phenomenon is today’s watered-down WASP, who insists upon milquetoasting his heritage into soggy oblivion by taking the best of his traditions and putting them to work in the service of his own self-subversion. It is a curious state of affairs.

Even taken at face value, sending armed men to recover documents that first, do not exist, second, if they did were removed by staffers, third, if they had been removed would not have been illegal (since the President can declassify any document at will by removing them from the White House), fourth, if they had been removed illegally, Trump already offered, without reservation, to have officers of the national archives go through his documents to confirm.
The FBI padlocked the room to secure it weeks ago, in order to secure any possible documents while the Archivists investigated. During the raid, they broke the padlock they themselves installed.
Of course, this is red meat to the MAGA base. If the effort to exclude Trump from the next Presidential election fails, they may deeply regret the effort. “He who draws his sword against the king must throw away the scabbard.”

We seem to be seeing the same dynamic form up in present day America as the ruling class operates by motives that baffle those outside. The raid on former president Trump by the FBI is the latest event without an obvious explanation. A feature proudly celebrated by the American political class for a long time is that Americans do not criminalize politics like other countries. The losers of elections are not jailed and former officer holders are not persecuted.
For two years the political class has been waging a war against the former president and his supporters for reasons that continue to baffle. There must be a reason as there is a reason for everything, but no logical reasons make sense. Again, we look at our political class and see a black box at the center of their actions. It is what motivates them but what is going on inside is a mystery. As a result, we are left to speculate as to their motivations and that always leads to dark motives.

Atlanta Press Club director Lauri Strauss, who is organizing the debate, and at least three other members of the group’s board have donated thousands to Democrats, including Biden, Georgia Democratic senator Jon Ossoff—and Warnock himself.
