“A complaint could be filed with US courts against Obama for his violation of articles 18 and 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) calling for respect of faiths,” Javad Mohammadi, the deputy head of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution (SCCR), said on Sunday.

“Article 18 and 27 of the ICCPR, adopted by the United Nation, stipulate that the religion and the rights of the minorities should be respected,” Mohammadi said.

The US government is a signatory to this covenant and has to respect it. Therefore, an individual or an NGO (non-governmental organization) can file a lawsuit against the president of the country for breach of the covenant, he added.

 Friday night’s arrest of Adel Daoud, an American aged 18, marked the end of an undercover sting operation during which agents provided him with a fake bomb that he attempted to set off shortly before he was detained, the US Attorney’s Office in Chicago said in a statement.

A Nashville woman was charged with attempted terrorism Friday after investigators said she threatened to hurt co-workers at the South Nashville Dell facility last weekend.

The trouble began when a CEVA Logistics employee said his co-worker Amal Ahmed Abdullahi, 29, of Zermatt Avenue, approached him during his shift last Saturday.

According to a release from Metro police, Abdullahi told the employee that “her people were dying for Allah every day; that she was ready to die for Allah; that this whole country will be Muslim soon; that this country is full of non-believers and that this place (her work place) is full of non-believers; that all unbelievers should die; that her life starts after death; that her life is not here, nobody pays attention to her and she should pick up a gun and shoot all these people.”

Back in the old days, immigrants to the United States were expected to assimilate into American society and culture. This meant that after a generation or so they would be indistinguishable from other Americans, except for whatever physical characteristics came with their genetic heritage. They might retain some of the customs of the “old country” within their families, but to all outward appearances they became Americans. They spoke American English as their first language, at home and elsewhere.

Yeah, well, that was then — this is now.

But what is “integration”?

The word has an amorphous meaning when used by the trans-national bureaucrats of the European Union, who seem to prefer that it remain without precise definition.

As far as I can ascertain, an immigrant to Europe is integrated if he:

1.         Learns the local language well enough to converse at work or in places of business, and to fill out social welfare forms.
2.         Refrains from committing as much crime, particularly violent crime, as he might otherwise be inclined to commit. No one expects him to meet traditional European standards of law-abiding behavior, but he should at least keep the larceny and mayhem down to a manageable level.
3.         Beats his wife or daughters only behind closed doors, and without leaving any publicly visible bruises.

And that’s about it. When European politicians lament the “failure to integrate”, they mean that culture-enrichers are not even meeting the above minimal standards.

A Palestinian man who was denied entry to Israel by security forces stationed at the Hashmonaim checkpoint dropped a bag containing explosives and fled the scene on Wednesday.

A explosives expert who was alerted to the scene found four pipe bombs in the bag, which were then safely detonated. The security forces have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

At the end of the 1970s, Iranian fundamentalists invented the term “Islamophobia” formed in analogy to “xenophobia”. The aim of this word was to declare Islam inviolate. Whoever crosses this border is deemed a racist. This term, which is worthy of totalitarian propaganda, is deliberately unspecific about whether it refers to a religion, a belief system or its faithful adherents around the world.

But confession has no more in common with race than it has with secular ideology. Muslims, like Christians, come from the Arab world, Africa, Asia and Europe, just as Marxists, liberals and anarchists come or came from all over. In a democracy, no one is obliged to like religion, and until proved otherwise, they have the right to regard it as retrograde and deceptive. Whether you find it legitimate or absurd that some people regard Islam with suspicion – as they once did Catholicism – and reject its aggressive proselytism and claim to total truth – this has nothing to do with racism.

An NHS doctor on leave from a London hospital was part of a heavily-armed extremist gang who took a British journalist hostage in war-torn Syria.

The Kalashnikov-toting doctor – believed to be around 28 – told photographer John Cantlie he had taken a sabbatical from his medical work to come to Syria and fight a ‘holy war’.

The bearded medic, who spoke with a south London accent and said he had a wife and a child back in the UK, told the captive photographer he intended to return to an NHS job in Britain after his time in Syria.

A pointed reminder that a Muslim’s first loyalty is to the Ummah, not to whatever part of the Dar al-Harb in which they might currently be living. There are no British Muslims, merely Muslims living in Britain.

The Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN) cited on its website Friday a report from the Tehran-based, Persian-language Haran News Agency that Christian activist and House Church organizer Fat’hi was sentenced to a six-year prison term, based on charges of “acting against national security through membership of the Christian organization Ilam, collection of funds and propaganda against the Islamic Regime by helping spread Christianity in the country.”

According to FCNN, Fat’hi converted to Christianity and was one of a high number of Christian activists arrested by the security agencies of the Islamic Republic during Christmas 2010.

If he converted from Islam, he’s lucky they didn’t behead him — the penalty laid down in strict shari’a.

Haniyeh paid back the kindness this week by accusing Israel of being behind a jihadist attack that killed 16 Egyptian soldiers Monday. The terrorists tried to drive hijacked vehicles into Israel to continue their killing, but were intercepted by the Israeli military.

On December 15, Saudi authorities raided a private religious function in Jeddah, a city on the Red Sea coast in western Saudi Arabia, and arrested 35 Ethiopian Christian workers.

According to human rights groups and the US government’s Commission on International Religious Freedom, the 29 women and six men faced beatings and sexual assault.

The commission noted that “some of the men detained have alleged that they were physically abused during interrogations and the female detainees reportedly were subjected to intrusive and humiliating body cavity searches. While no formal charges have been made, the detainees reportedly were charged with ‘illicit mingling’ with the opposite sex. Saudi authorities informed sponsors of some of the detainees that their employees were being held because of illegal religious activities. The detainees also reportedly face imminent deportation.”

While Romney denied on Tuesday that his reference was a criticism about Palestinian culture, Palestinian leaders immediately slammed the comment. Palestinian Authority spokesman Saeb Erakat calling it “a racist statement” that ignores the effect occupation has on the Palestinian economy.

What makes Palestinians a unique race has not been explained. But just imagine the outcry if a sitting government official described Palestinians as developing methods “of death and death-seeking. For the Palestinian people death has become an industry at which women excel.”

If a passing reference to “culture” set off Palestinian ire, what might they say about an official saying death is a Palestinian “industry?”

In this case, the comment drew no criticism. It came from Hamas MP Fathi Hammad in remarks broadcast on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa television in 2008. According to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Hammad told the enemies of Allah that they “do not know that the Palestinian people has developed its (methods) of death and death-seeking. For the Palestinian people death has become an industry at which women excel and so do all the people living on this land. The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahideen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly and the mujahideen in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine. It is as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy: ‘We desire death like you desire life.'”

While the ‘Palestinians’ prate about ‘occupation’, they conveniently forget to address the continuing Arab occupation of parts of the Jewish homeland. There are no ‘Palestinians’; they’re Arabs, and if they want their ‘home’ back they should return to Arabia. There’s certainly plenty of room.

The officers ordered the 18-year-old called Marie-Louise to produce her identity card around midnight outside a mosque in the southern French city of Marseille, which has a large Muslim population.
