Russian air strikes have killed over 2,500 people so far, about a third of the victims have been civilians. This is condemned as a war crime by many but is also a less publicized (especially by the Russians) reason why the Russian air strikes have been so much more effective than the larger number of American ones. Russia does not abort a strike because there is too much risk of civilian casualties. This makes ISIL more vulnerable to air attack than when just the Americans were handling it. The U.S. believes that only a few percent of the people its air strikes kills are civilians. The ROE (Rules of Engagement) Russia uses against ground targets ignores the use of human shields or the presence of a lot of civilians for whatever reason.

In his recent Atlantic piece on “What to Do About ISIS,” Jonathan Powell, a former senior British diplomat, posits that eventually, the West would have to negotiate with the so-called Islamic State. It’s a comforting thought, in a way—the suggestion presupposes that ISIS, just like many other armed organizations throughout history, is the kind of group that can eventually be reasoned with, however distasteful its enemies may find the prospect. Noting numerous examples in which governments have talked their way to peace with terrorist organizations, Powell acknowledges, “of course people argue that ISIS is completely different from anything we have seen before. But people have said that about each new armed group since the rise of the IRA in 1919.”

If Powell’s historical analogies worked, the struggle against ISIS would be a lot simpler. Unfortunately, the analysis underappreciates how direly different ISIS actually is. The armed groups that Powell describes as having accepted negotiated settlements were fundamentally nationalist organizations—even where the group or “nation” on whose behalf they fought was sometimes defined partly in terms of religious identity—with fundamentally political and pragmatic aims. ISIS is instead a radical supra-nationalist group based on a deeply perverted interpretation of Sunni Islam, and it has hugely maximalist goals.

In other words, they follow the Koran as it was written back in the 7th century. That’s what every Muslim terrorist purports to do. Tortured attempts to differentiate ISIS from other Muslim terrorists only underline the growing cognitive disconnect among the Crust as reality refuses to align with their fantasy view of the world.

The man shot dead when he approached a Paris police station wearing a fake explosives belt last week had recently lived in a German refuge for asylum-seekers, it has emerged.

Tarek Belgacem, from Tunisia, had lived in the refuge in Recklinghausen in North Rhine-Westphalia, posing as a Syrian or Iraqi refugee, German authorities said. He is known to have been present in France, under a false name, three years ago.

Well, let’s hope he wasn’t among the Syrian refugees that Obama is so keen to have come to the United States.

As many as 18 terror suspects have been able to flee Britain for the Middle East despite being monitored by MI5 or the police, it has been reported.

Including Siddhartha Dhar, the lead suspect behind Isis’s latest video threatening the UK, all 18 were either on bail or on terror watch lists when they escaped the country join Isis or jihadist groups, according to the Sun.

The Independent has previously reported that Mr Dhar was among six individuals allowed to leave who had been linked to the now-proscribed al-Muhajiroun group.

And it is now reported that of the wider group of 18, five were on bail when they fled, five were under investigation by security services and two were subject to government Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures (TPIMs).

Perhaps they ought to have given the job to the people responsible for vetting the Syrian refugees that Obama is eager to welcome to the U.S.

Japan is establishing a new intelligence operation to gather information on and monitor terrorist organizations worldwide. This will involve sharing information with foreign countries. Japan does not have much crime, or terrorism locally, Japan has so far avoided Islamic terrorist violence partly because Japan has virtually no Moslems. About one in 1,200 people in Japan are Moslem. Like other foreign populations Moslems (most of them foreign born) stand out and are watched carefully by police and Japanese, just like every other group of gaijin (non-Japanese) in residence. As a result there have been no problems with Islamic terrorism, or crime in general. Japan has some of the lowest crime rates in the world, although some of this is due to police reclassifying crimes (murders as suicides) when they can get away with it. Even with that, Japan is very safe compared to other countries.

Security authorities are growing increasingly concerned by the rising number of sex attacks by gangs of migrants which appear to be spreading across Europe.

Finland and Sweden today became the latest European countries to issue warnings to women to be wary of the threat of sex attacks following fresh reports of sexual assaults in the last week, while the Viennese police chief adviced women not to go outside alone in Vienna.

The warnings come as reports emerged that Austrian and German police tried to cover-up the issue over fears of reprisal attacks on asylum seekers and damage to the countries’ tourist trade.

Dozens of arrests have been made today in connection with the wave of recent sex attacks across Europe.

In each city the modus operandi seemed to be the same: a large number of young men, often intoxicated and setting off fireworks, preying on young women in a coordinated fashion, as if the whole thing were planned and organized in advance. Which it may well have been — but in a distributed fashion, not with a central command structure.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi did not order his troops to carry out attacks. But he didn’t have to — this is Islam, and any good Muslim who has paid attention to what is preached in mosques and instructed in madrassas knows exactly what to do.

When a sheep accidentally falls into the Amazon, the piranhas don’t have a central command-and-control system, either. But they can strip the unfortunate animal to a skeleton in a matter of minutes in a coordinated fashion. All it takes is effective and uniform programming in each individual organism of the population.

Don’t think this is all coincidental. Don’t dismiss it as ‘conspiracy theory’, either; free markets aren’t centrally directed, but are efficient and effective nevertheless.

German authorities have identified 31 people, including 18 asylum-seekers, as suspects in mob sex attacks and muggings in Cologne on New Year’s Eve — one of several such incidents in Europe.

In Cologne, where most of the attacks took place, a police spokesman confirmed Chief Wolfgang Albers was fired Friday. Albers’ dismissal comes amid criticism of his department’s handling of the violence.

But that should really be “Syrian” in quote marks, because that designation just means that they managed to acquire a Syrian passport somewhere before they arrived in Germany. On New Year’s Eve there were simultaneous attacks on women by large groups of “southern-looking” men in at least seven major German cities. Most of the news stories have been about Cologne, but similar events occurred n Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt, and other cities. The modus operandi was the same everywhere: massive numbers of young Middle Eastern or North African men, gathering suddenly as if it had been planned in advance, and harassing, robbing, groping, molesting, and even raping young women who were out for the evening’s celebrations.

Ivan Jurcevic is a Croatian immigrant who works as a doorman (or perhaps a bouncer) at a hotel on the Hauptbahnhof Platz in Cologne. On New Year’s Eve (Silvester) he had a front row seat for the culturally enriched events that have now become notorious throughout Germany and the rest of the Western world.

In the following interview, Mr. Jurcevic gives an account of what he witnessed that night, and how he did his best to help women who were menaced, harassed, and molested by the “youths” who took over the main train station.

American feminists never said a word about the Rotherham Horror, in which English girls as young as 11 were pimped out by Muslim predators. American feminists don’t want to call attention to certain crimes committed by certain criminals, and it is not just Juanita Broaddrick’s rape accusation against Bill Clinton that feminists demand that we ignore. The feminist movement in the United States is controlled by the Democrat Party, and therefore rape is just a talking-point to them, an “issue” that feminists help Democrats exploit for partisan purposes. Because feminists are dishonest partisans, their agenda requires a lot of deliberate falsification — the phony “1-in-5” statistic, the UVA rape hoax, etc. — and it also requires feminists to ignore a lot of actual rapes which do not fit the Democrat Party-approved propaganda narrative.

The Isis militant group is likely to be using chemical weapons against its enemies in Syria and Iraq, Russia has claimed, after evidence of exposure to deadly nerve agents was reported by the UN.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said it was investigating 11 alleged chemical weapon attacks reported to it by the Syrian government, and that in at least one case blood samples suggested “exposure to sarin or a sarin-like substance”.

The mayor of Cologne has summoned police for crisis talks after about 80 women reported sexual assaults and muggings by men on New Year’s Eve.

The scale of the attacks on women at the city’s central railway station has shocked Germany. About 1,000 drunk and aggressive young men were involved.

City police chief Wolfgang Albers called it “a completely new dimension of crime”. The men were of Arab or North African appearance, he said.

Guess they haven’t been paying attention to what young Muslims do with female kuffir and have been for the last 20 years. Well, better late than never, I suppose.

Last Thursday night — New Year’s Eve — a large crowd of “refugees” gathered in the Hauptbahnhof, the main train station of Cologne, and took advantage of the loud revelry and fireworks to avail themselves the “uncovered meat” they saw in front of them heading for the platform or alighting from the trains. A wave of harassment, groping, molestation, theft, and reportedly even rape descended upon native German women unfortunate enough to be passing through the station at that time.

The crimes committed that evening in Cologne were so blatant, and so uniformly committed by the newly-arrived enrichers of German culture, that even the city authorities were forced to acknowledge the ethnic component of what had just occurred. To be cynical about it, maybe a councilor’s daughter or a relative of the mayor were among those molested, prompting a breaking of the taboo against the discussion of immigrant crime.

But is the tension entirely unwelcome to the Saudis? Goldman and others note that the Saudis are under considerably economic pressure because of low oil prices. Iranian oil coming on to the market soon will put more downward pressure on oil prices at least in the short term. What better way to prop up oil prices than to ramp up the political risk premium, which serves the interests of both Saudi Arabia and Iran. A new war in the Gulf would do wonders for oil prices. Farfetched perhaps, but stranger things happen in the Middle East. Everyone ought to regard the surface accounts of the media about what is going on with a great deal of suspicion.

We could do worse that a serious Sunni-Shi’ite war in the Gulf, as happened in the ’80s. American shale oil would start being profitable again, and the jihadis would have something closer to home to occupy their minds.

The culture-enriching gentleman in this video is one of the Syrian “refugees” who arrived in Germany last year. In his home country he must have been a prosperous man of high social standing, because he had four wives. In order to get them into Germany with him, he had to lie to the authorities. But that’s OK, because lying in order to advance the cause of Islam is sanctioned by the Koran and all four schools of Sunni jurisprudence, as well as in the Shi’ite version of the fiqh. And it definitely advances the cause of Islam to take all your wives and children with you to a kuffar country (and make more Muslim children when you get there), all while being supported by the infidel taxpayers’ money.

However, the following news report from French TV tells a different story. The driver is not only identified as a “North African”, but he is said to have been screaming… well, take a wild guess as to what he screamed… as he rammed the soldiers.

I call the bad parts of Europe’s cities partial no-go zones because ordinary people in ordinary clothing at ordinary times can enter and leave them without trouble. But they are no-go zones in the sense that representatives of the state – police especially but also firefighters, meter-readers, ambulance attendants, and social workers – can only enter with massed power for temporary periods of time. If they disobey this basic rule (as I learned first-hand in Marseille), they are likely to be swarmed, insulted, threatened, and even attacked.

The following video reports and articles concern a situation that is very familiar to those who live in or near culturally-enriched areas of northern Europe, such as the Swedish city of Malmö. Firemen or other emergency personnel are called to an immigrant neighborhood, where they are met with a hail of stones, bricks, bottles, and fireworks. Nowadays the fire brigade in Malmö won’t enter these enriched areas without a police escort.

The same situation arose in the Corsican town of Ajaccio on Christmas Eve, when residents of a Muslim neighborhood attacked firemen responding to an emergency call. The difference between Malmö and Ajaccio, however, is that an immediate, spontaneous resistance formed and fought back against the Muslims. Perhaps there is a strong collective memory in these southern regions of centuries of Islamic occupation and oppression. In any case, a crowd of locals not only took to the streets in protest, they went into the no-go zone and trashed a mosque.

I’m always puzzled when government officials say that terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. If that is the case, why are guards at Guantanamo Bay required to wear gloves when they handle the Koran? Why did we give Osama bin Laden an Islamic burial at sea? Somehow, when you investigate terrorism, Islam keeps popping up.

The Diwan al-Rikaz (Department of Precious Resources) is one of the Islamic State’s [IS] bureaucratic wings that have emerged since the announcement of the Caliphate on 29 June 2014. Literally, al-Rikaz refers to anything that can be extracted from the ground. In that regard, the Diwan has a number of sub-divisions, most notably including oil and gas as well as antiquities. Mining and trading of minerals also fall under the Diwan al-Rikaz’s authority. Previously I have covered some specimen documents from the Diwan al-Rikaz, such as the leasing of gasoline stations in Mosul, oil and gas distributions to the local population, oil and gas sale receipts and permission for excavating antiquities.

As with other IS departments, co-optation of existing structures is key as part of the emphasis on authorization and oversight of activity, particularly when it comes to oil and gas resources. Compare, for instance, with the Diwan al-Siha (Health Department) requirement for new pharmacies and clinics to have its stamp of approval.

Minnesota’s Somali community presents a stark challenge to Americans concerned about terrorism. The community is Muslim, large, and protected by an extreme form of ideological conformity that runs from the governor down and permeates the media.

While the Somali community’s support for law enforcement is questionable at best, its support for community members charged with supporting terrorist organizations is highly visible. Yet the Star Tribune goes out of its way in a news story on this month’s charges against the former airport employee who recruited here for ISIS to state as a fact that “Muslim community that’s exceptionally engaged with efforts to counter extremism.”

Palestinian leaders are declaring their current campaign of “lone wolf” attacks on Israelis a success even as they explain to the world that is not terrorism. The official Palestinian line is that this was a spontaneous outbreak of violence against Israelis. This is odd since these same Palestinian officials constantly appear on Palestinian media urging Palestinians to keep up and intensify the attacks.

The U.S. (in the form of the director of the FBI) recently revealed that its efforts to prevent American Moslems from travelling overseas to join Islamic terrorist organizations had worked. That was the good news. The bad news was that groups like ISIL (al Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant) had helped make this happen by urging foreigners who want to join to do so where they are and work to carry out attacks where they live. This advice was particularly useful for ISIL and the foreign recruits in Western nations where young Moslem men not only have problems getting to and operating in a Middle Eastern battleground. These woes (include the difficulty raising the cash for travel and avoiding government scrutiny. When they do get to the combat zone they often have language and culture clash problems. Many of the Western Moslems do not speak Arabic and are unfamiliar with Middle Eastern cultures. That means a lot of these volunteers are only really good for suicide bombing missions and even then they need a lot of coaching and guidance in actually carrying out the mission.

Recent opinion polls in the West Bank reveal that a majority of Palestinians there approve of the current “knife terrorism” campaign and that most Palestinians would vote for Hamas if elections were held right now. This is no secret to the current (Fatah) leaders in the West Bank and one reason they support the knife terrorism so energetically and effectively. While Hamas is hated by the people of Gaza, West Bank Palestinians don’t experience that daily while they do endure the corrupt and inept rule of Fatah. The Fatah media campaign has also convinced most Palestinians it is Israel that is refusing to negotiate peace when in fact it is the Palestinians who turned down two peace deals in the 1990s and instead tried terror campaigns to get more. Both of these “intifadas” failed and Fatah has sold the illusion that the third intifada (the “knife intifada) will succeed. Since 2000 Palestinian media constantly pushed the idea that Israel has no right to exist and must be destroyed. Palestinians who disagree with this must either emigrate or keep silent. For most Palestinians its easier to praise the knife. The knife terrorism campaign has, in three months, left 22 Israeli dead and over 250 wounded. But 130 Palestinians have died (mostly in failed attacks). Palestinian media depicts unsuccessful attacks that result in attackers being killed or wounded as Israeli attacks against random (and innocent) Palestinians.

Efforts to screen refugees trying to get into Europe and the United States has uncovered yet another scam developed by Moslem refugees seeking asylum in the West. Unfortunately for the scammers a growing number of the screeners have prior experience (often while in the military) with the mentality that produces these cons. The latest one involves refugees from Afghanistan presenting “night letters” from the Taliban threatening death if they did not help the Islamic terrorists or get out of the area. Such documents were quite common until 2011 when the Taliban stopped using them. But the refugees are presenting night letters, often hand written on Taliban or ISIL (al Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant) stationary. Scans of these night letters exchanged by different screeners showed that many of these documents were apparently written by the same person. Some investigation back in Afghanistan found that these letters were for sale to Afghans seeking to head to the West and gain asylum. This sort of thing is neither new nor unique to Western screeners or lawyers.

The super-rich ruler of Brunei has told residents of his country that if they plan on celebrating Christmas, they could face up to five years in jail.

In fear the the religious holiday will affect the faith of its country, the tiny oil-rich nation’s Sultan, Hassanal Bolkiah, has banned the public celebration of Christmas.

Any Muslims caught celebrating Christmas, and non-Muslims who are discovered organising celebrations, could face the lengthy prison sentence.

While non-Muslims are allowed to celebrate the holiday within their own communities, they must not disclose their plans to the nation’s Muslims – which make up 65 per cent of the 420,000-strong population.

A former top official of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) is trying to whitewash the Hamas charity’s true history in a detailed self-interview published by the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs (WRMEA), a virulently pro-terrorist and anti-Israel publication.

Shukri Abu Baker was HLF’s chief executive, but now is serving 65 years in prison for conspiring to provide material support to the terrorist group Hamas. Jurors in Dallas determined that under Baker’s control, HLF illegally routed more than $12 million to Hamas.

But, Baker claims, the case “was an insult to the American judicial system and ravaged the lives of those who were only trying to alleviate suffering.”

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed, upholding the convictions of Baker and four co-defendants in 2011. The court cited evidence which “contradicted a sworn declaration from Baker wherein he had denied that he and other HLF board members had any connection with Hamas.”

The following brief documentary clip from German television concerns an investigative mission to the Maldive Islands, not far from the southern tip of India. The filmmakers made their pilgrimage there to do some fashionable research into “climate change” on the low-lying islands, but discovered the Great Jihad instead. And got themselves thrown out of the country for their pains.

I researched and wrote the article “The threat from ‘Minnesota men’” before the San Bernardino massacre, but the things I learned along the way may have some bearing on it. “Minnesota men” have been in contact with ISIS and sought to enlist in the cause. In April the FBI arrested six of them who were on their way to join the jihad. We’re a little ambivalent about the FBI’s success in apprehending them. Now they’re going to remain here and they really, really don’t like us very much.

One can learn a lot from reading the criminal complaint charging the six and the underlying FBI affidavit summarizing the investigation. They are posted online here. ISIS is recruiting here and may even have a presence in the United States. The FBI has stated that social media and encrypted communications have expanded beyond their capacity to keep up. If apprehending the six represented a stroke of good fortune, we won’t always be so lucky, as events in San Bernardino have proved many times over.

As we reported last night, our neighbors over in Augusta County made national headlines when their “Islamophobia” caused the closure of the county’s schools. The parent of a student assigned to copy out the shahada complained, and the controversy went viral on social media. The resulting uproar caused the school board to shut down all the schools in the district yesterday, “out of an abundance of caution.”

The superintendent didn’t say what he was being “cautious” about, but you can bet the recent events in San Bernardino and Paris were in the forefront of his mind. Even a provincial school official must have noticed by now what angry Muslims tend to do when non-Muslims say or do things they find insulting to their religion.

To put the incident in perspective, consider what the equivalent assignment might have been if the topic had been Christianity. A rough equivalent would have been to copy out John 3:16 as presented in the King James Bible:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Or possibly the first of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:3):

Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

To be strictly analogous, the first would have to be copied out in Koine Greek, and the second in Hebrew.

Can you imagine a public school in the United States handing out such an assignment in the year of Our Lord 2015? It would end the career of the teacher, and possibly those of the principal and the district superintendent as well.

The history of the looming anti-Muslim backlash that never arrives is instructive. Logically, the original post-9/11 anti-Muslim backlash should have been the largest and most ferocious of the various backlashes, and indeed George W. Bush, members of his administration and members of Congress frequently warned Americans not to blame all Muslims for the acts committed by Al-Qaeda.

As my colleague Joel Pollak writes at Breitbart California, the organisation, which claims it is tasked with improving relations between America and its Muslim communities took the pre-emptive step of representing Mr. Farook’s family, in what Pollak describes as a terrorist family’s “death benefit.”

CAIR’s assistance and public representation of Syed Farook’s family, in my opinion, closely resembles the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) behaviour of rewarding imprisoned terrorists, or, in cases where they’ve died during an attack, their families. The PA has used U.S. and UK foreign aid for these “salaries,” paid during incarceration, or, in the case of the families, for the foreseeable future.

For many countries efforts to restrict Moslem migration is justified by past experience. Japan, for example, has virtually no Moslems and as a result has had no problems with Islamic terrorism. The Gulf Oil States severely restrict the movement of Moslem refugees (and migrants in general) into their territory. They say it is for security reasons. European countries that accept a lot of Moslems fleeing religious violence in their homelands report that the Moslem migrants end up committing a disproportionate number of crimes and often end up as a disproportionate fraction of the prison population. Thus in France, where ten percent of the population is Moslem, over 60 percent of the prison population is Moslem.
