Dei Is the Real Cause of America’s Housing Crisis

11th September 2025

Read it.

Why doesn’t Hermes just produce more bags and then everyone can have a Birkin? That’s basically the argument of people pressing President Donald Trump to declare a housing emergency.

The fact is there’s plenty of housing, just not in the most desirable neighborhoods. Population growth is slowing, deportations are increasing and new home construction already outpaces family creation. The shortage is a myth created by activists so they can force residential living patterns to conform to DEI dogma.

A simple calculation proves it. The Census Bureau collects annual data on both the number of households and the available housing stock. The latest data shows 131.3 million households and 146.5 million housing units, an excess supply of over 15 million units.

Blue State Blues: New Mexico to Become the First State to Offer Universal Child Care

11th September 2025

NBC News, a Voice of the Crust.

New Mexico will become the first state in the country to begin offering free universal child care, Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced.

It is not, of course, ‘free’, but paid for by taxpayers. Yet another piece of ‘wealth redistribution’ in a Clever Plastic Disguise’.

The move amounts to an expansion of an existing program that went into effect three years ago that has aided thousands of families in the state.

And moved them along to the proglodyte dream of the government raising your kids. The Communists in the Soviet Union tried that, and it turned out … badly.

I predict that it will suffer the same fate as single-payer government health care: It will increasingly absorb tax revenues to the point that taxes will have to be raised enormously, while simultaneously providing crappy child care. Scandals will abound, as now happens with Britain’s NHS and Canada’s copycat system.

You heard it here first….

Charlotte Pocketed $3.3M From Left-Wing NGO to Empty Jails for ‘Racial Equity’

10th September 2025

Read it.

The brutal killing of Iryna Zarutska (Ukrainian refugee) on a commuter train in North Carolina highlights not only the willingness of leftist corporate media to cover up news stories that jeopardize their woke narratives but also the broader failure of so-called criminal justice reform, which appears to have shockingly backfired and become a major public safety threat. Adding to the mounting outrage, a leftist magistrate judge released the schizophrenic monster on cashless bail (before he killed Zarutska) – another failure point. And then there’s this: far-left nonprofits accelerated the push for disastrous criminal justice reforms.

It’s now widely known that Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, Zarutska’s killer, had been previously arrested 14 times in North Carolina for crimes ranging from assault to firearms possession, and whose own mother admitted he was schizophrenic and should never have been allowed back on the streets, was recently released on cashless bail (before he killed Zarutska) by a progressive magistrate judge despite a two-decade violent crime spree.

“Another factor in the death of Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light rail–the left-wing MacArthur Foundation giving Mecklenburg county a $3.3 million grant to reduce the jail population. Specifically as part of racial equity aims,” Daily Wire’s Megan Basham wrote on X.

Basham noted, “Like Soros’ Open Society, the MacArthur Foundation incentivizes local municipalities to make residents less safe by leaving threats like Decarlos Brown on the streets.”

Worst Revision In History: BLS Admits A Record 911K Fewer Jobs Were Added Under Biden

10th September 2025

Read it.

Two weeks ago, before both Bloomberg and Reuters, we told our subscribers to “brace for another huge negative payrolls revision”…

… and just like one year ago when we did exactly the same, we were spot on: moments ago the BLS reported that as part of its preliminary annual benchmark revisions, a record 911K payrolls for the period April 2024-March 2025 would be revised away. As shown in the chart below, the biggest revisions were in Leisure and Hospitality, Professional and Business services, and Retail and Wholesale trade sectors.

What is more remarkable about today’s print is that after last year’s stunning 818K negative revision, which was the second biggest since the global financial crisis (and which we also warned ahead of time was coming), virtually nobody expected this year’s number to be higher. It was not only higher, but it was the biggest negative revision on record!

Which is why Trump fired the former head of BLS.

‘Neutrality’ Exposed: French State Journalists Caught Colluding With the Left

9th September 2025

Read it.

A scandal is rocking the French press: a conservative magazine has just provided evidence, backed up by recordings, of public service journalists openly using media to support the socialist Left. The Right, which has long denounced the shameless collusion between the mainstream media and the Left, sees its worst suspicions more than confirmed, while those concerned try, in vain, to perpetuate the myth of their ‘neutrality’ and ‘journalistic ethics.’

These revelations, which came to light on the weekend of September 6 and 7—when French news was dominated by the vote of confidence requested by Prime Minister François Bayrou—were made by our friends from the magazine L’Incorrect, which describes itself as “cultural, conservative and corrosive.”

Transgender Offender Threatened to Rape Girls in Bathrooms, Shoot Schools, Bomb Churches

9th September 2025

Read it.

What if I told you a man who identifies as a “transgender woman” threatened to victimize girls in girls’ bathrooms, shoot up schools, and bomb churches? Would that make you more likely to support efforts to investigate whether some people who identify as transgender pose a terrorist threat?

Most Americans haven’t heard the name of Jason Lee Willie, a man who identifies as female and goes by the name Alexia, but his case highlights the unnerving possibility that many people who identify as transgender may pose a violent threat to their fellow Americans.

Americans are more familiar with the man identifying as a woman who killed two and injured 17 at a Minneapolis Catholic school last month before taking his own life. They also know about the woman identifying as a man who killed three children and three adults at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, in March 2023.

The list of shooters and offenders who identify as transgender has been growing in recent years, which raises uncomfortable questions about potential ties between gender ideology or experimental gender drugs and violence.

Does the rhetoric of the transgender movement encourage hatred against Christians and conservatives? Do the interventions euphemistically termed “gender-affirming care” make people more unstable?

Generation Remigration

8th September 2025

Power Line.

The future of Western Europe is hanging by a thread, as one government after another has collaborated in invasions by hostile foreigners. Indigenous Europeans are irate, and incumbent administrations are panicking. The London Times reports on the latest shakeup of Keir Starmer’s government. Starmer’s new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, says the regime will get serious about immigration:

Another party insider said “nothing is off the table” for Mahmood. They said she was likely to want to reform the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and would be far more radical than her predecessor. The source added she would “start with the unthinkable and work backwards”.

“Far more radical” apparently means being less blatant about selling out the British people, not because they are, after all, the ones Britain’s government is supposed to represent, but in order to “stop the advance of Nigel Farage.” What “radical” measures are Starmer’s government now prepared to consider?

Mahmood’s first big intervention as home secretary is expected to come within weeks when she announces plans to build modular accommodation for single, adult male asylum seekers on Ministry of Defence land.

That is better, I suppose, than housing them in “migrant hotels” across Britain, at enormous expense in both money and criminality. But note the implicit acknowledgment that “migrants” are overwhelmingly “single, adult male asylum seekers.” This is why those who pay attention call it an invasion.

The Weird Rise of American ‘Refugees’

6th September 2025

Read it.

Finally, Europe has found a group of refugees who aren’t welcome—Americans.

As reported by Reuters this week, there is a small but growing number of U.S. citizens attempting to claim asylum in Europe, on the grounds that they are transgender. One such individual is Veronica Clifford-Carlos, a 28-year-old artist from San Francisco, who left the U.S. in June this year, hoping to be granted refugee status in the Netherlands. Clifford-Carlos claimed that the U.S. is no longer safe for trans people, and that “I have people screaming ‘faggot’ at me in the street … I have people threatening my life, threatening to assault me, threatening to follow me home and kill my family.”

Shockingly, for a country that normally appears to accept anyone from anywhere, no questions asked, the Netherlands rejected Clifford-Carlos’s application. In August, the American launched a lawsuit against the rejection—the first of its kind. Clifford-Carlos is not, however, alone in fleeing the supposed dystopian hellscape of Trump’s America. The advocacy group backing the lawsuit, LGBT Asylum Support, says it’s currently working with 20 other transgender Americans to make asylum claims. Official data from the Netherlands show that a total of 29 Americans applied for asylum there in the first half of this year, though the reason for each case is not recorded.

It is exceedingly rare for U.S. citizens to be granted asylum in European countries. Usually, this only happens incidentally, when an American dependent of someone with another citizenship—such as a parent—is given refugee status. For the Dutch government—or any European government—to accept an asylum application from America would imply criticism of the U.S. government. This is something that any European government would, understandably, be reluctant to do.

Memorial for Victims of Migration Removed in Berlin

6th September 2025

Read it.

Police on Friday, September 5th, removed a makeshift memorial dedicated to “the victims of Merkel’s mass migration” near Breitscheidplatz in Berlin.

Concrete blocks, flowers, and photos had been placed at a site close to where a terrorist attacked the Christmas market in 2016, killing 13 people.

According to Deutschland-Kurier, the victims’ photos, including one of police officer Rouven Laur who was killed by an Islamist, were thrown away.

On Thursday, September 4, Berlin police covered the memorial with trash bags, and on Friday morning, a police armored vehicle came to remove the concrete blocks.

Germany Fails to Control Migration as Majority of Deportations Fail

6th September 2025

Read it.

More than half of all planned deportations from Germany continue to fail, highlighting persistent problems in the country’s migration policy.

According to the German government’s response to a parliamentary inquiry by Alternative für Deutschland Bundestag member René Springer, around 250,000 deportations were planned between 2020 and July 2025, but nearly 146,000 were not carried out.

The failure rate has remained consistently above 55%, reaching 60% in 2023 and 60.5% in 2024. In the first seven months of 2025, 35,489 deportations were scheduled, yet 20,982 could not be executed, representing 59.1%.

Springer criticized the federal government, telling NIUS that

the federal government has lost control and is unable to enforce existing law. Those who fail to consistently deport those required to leave the country are turning Germany into a magnet for illegal migration and destroying trust in the rule of law. Springer also argued that the repeated failures of established parties make the AfD the party most trusted by voters to address asylum and migration issues.

Immigration Appeals Court Expands Mandatory Detention for Millions

6th September 2025

Politico, a Voice of the Crust.

A powerful Justice Department appeals panel has declared that anyone in deportation proceedings who entered the U.S. without legal authorization is not entitled to be considered for release on bond by an immigration judge.

Upon which point they vanish into obscurity, and are safe from deportation, becomeing ‘undocumented immigrants’ and near and dear to proglodyte hearts everywhere.

The ruling upends a decades-long understanding of federal law and could subject millions of immigrants to mandatory detention — a loss of liberty that advocates say could cause many to voluntarily leave the country even if they have meritorious cases to remain.

… which ‘understanding’ is responsible for the predicament in which we now find ourselves. People ‘voluntarily leaving the country’ is the desired outcome; ‘meritorious cases to remain’ remain meritorious, just not in the Fashionable Victim sense.

Study: ‘No Global Acceleration of Sea Level Rise’

5th September 2025

A new study conducted by a Dutch engineering consultant found that the average sea level rise in 2020 was around 1.5 millimeters per year, “significantly lower” than the 3 to 4 millimeters often projected by climate scientists and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Hessel Voortman and researcher Rob de Vos checked actual observations of more than 200 tide stations against projections and models.

“It is crazy that it had not been done. I started doing this research in 2021 by doing the literature review. ‘Who has done the comparison of the projections with the observations?’ And there were none,” Voortman told independent journalist Michael Shellenberger.

Sick Freaks Protest Outside Catholic School in Defense of Trans Shooter

5th September 2025

Read it.

In the wake of the tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, where two children were killed and 17 others injured by a deranged transgender identifying individual, a small group of lunatics have sparked widespread outrage by protesting, apparently in defense of trans ideology.

The group positioned themselves directly across the street from the school, where the children were attacked as they prayed,

They heckled Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha as they arrived at the church Wednesday to meet with victims’ families and pay respects. The ‘protesters’ held signs reading “Hate Won’t Make America Great.”

Crazy ‘trans’ people won’t make America great, either. In what respect shooting kids praying doesn’t qualify as ‘hate’ escapes me.

Seattle’s UW Professors Shift to Private Emails to Hide Their Political Campaigning

4th September 2025

Read it.

In a new op-ed Seattle talk radio host Jason Rantz exposes how University of Washington faculty—through the American Association of University Professors (AAUP)—are deliberately trying to keep their political organizing out of public view. The evidence comes from an email circulated by Abraham Flaxman, a UW professor, forwarding AAUP leadership’s warning that:

“Emails that are sent to an employer-issued email address could be accessed by the employer or be subject to records requests from legislators or members of the public, putting our members’ privacy at risk.”

As Rantz points out, this isn’t about privacy in the ordinary sense—it’s about making sure “taxpayers—or the media—[don’t learn] about the ideological activism they push under the guise of academic freedom.”

DOJ Sues Illinois Over Student Financial Aid for Illegals

The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit challenging an Illinois law that provides student financial aid to illegal immigrants, arguing it “plainly violates federal law” by unconstitutionally discriminating against U.S. citizens.

Last month, Gov. JB Pritzker, a Democrat, signed a bill amending the Retention of Illinois Students and Equity Act, known as the RISE Act, to expand eligibility for state-funded scholarships, grants, stipends, and other financial aid administered by local governments and public universities to illegal immigrants in Illinois who are not eligible for federal aid. The law goes into effect on Jan. 1.

Illinois has more than 27,000 illegal immigrants enrolled in higher education, according to data from Higher Ed Immigration Portal.

How Greta Thunberg Could End Up in an Israeli ‘Terror Centre’

1st September 2025

Read it.

Israel was fairly soft on Greta Thunberg following her first failed Gaza ‘aid mission.’ The Swedish eco-zealot-cum-Gaza activist-cum-“human trafficker” accepted deportation after reportedly refusing to watch a film documenting the atrocities of Hamas’ October 7th terror attack, while the tiny amount of aid she transported—just about enough for “maybe a dozen people,” according to some commentators—was transferred to Gaza through proper humanitarian channels.

But Benjamin Netanyahu’s team appears now to have run out of patience and is preparing a much tougher response to Thunberg’s latest endeavour to deter any future so-called “Palestine rescue missions.” Indeed, the activist has already threatened to “go back” if her expedition is again cut short by Israeli forces.

After Greta and co. left Spain on Sunday on the largest flotilla yet bound for Gaza, Israeli paper Israel Hayom reported that Netanyahu’s ministers are drawing up plans to put the activist in detention “under terrorist conditions” and to convert her ships into a police fleet.

They ought to turn her over to Hamas and see how long she would last.

‘EU Capital’ Official Normalizes “Rotten Areas”

1st September 2025

Read it.

“These incidents do not occur where international officials live and work. They happen in the rotten areas of the city, in Anderlecht, in Molenbeek, in places like that,” Alain Hutchinson, Brussels’ commissioner for Europe and international organizations said in a recent interview, downplaying the wave of violence hitting the Belgian capital. He even claimed that in the European quarter, “we have never had this kind of problem” and that expats “have nothing to worry about.”

However, that discourse, intended to reassure the thousands of EU officials living in Brussels, apart from showing complete disregard for ordinary people, clashes head-on with the official data. Far from being confined to a handful of neighborhoods, violence is spreading across the city and has reached levels more akin to a town at war: since January, there have been 57 shootings, 20 of them in just three summer months.

The offensive classism draws a clear line between the lives of European officials and those of ordinary citizens who must learn to live with the increasingly deteriorating security situation in ‘the capital of Europe.’

Defiant

1st September 2025

Freeberg nails it.

The Director of the CDC is refusing to step down after Trump has fired her.

I’m picking up a pattern here, what with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass pledging not to be intimidated by President Trump…um…attempting to clean up her city?

Defiant liberals who refuse to be intimidated, are all over the place. We could use them as landfill. But I notice you haven’t got long to wait until you see the next one, being defiant, refusing to be intimidated. And I also notice they’re never up to anything good.

In fact, it occurs to me. When a duly elected President fires your ass, and you defiantly refuse to move out of there for whatever reason. That’s a “Deep State,” right? That’s what it is. Unaccountable to The People. Can’t dislodge it. Not going anywhere.

Are they really committed to these bad policies they want to keep going, by refusing to budge? Because if not, and all they really want to do is show how defiant and hard it is to intimidate them, maybe we could come up with some special environment like a deserted island, or an empty lot, over which they can do their ruling and reigning and whatever. Then out here in the real world, we could enact some sensible policies and lower the crime rate, with them out of the way. They could lord over their little bottle-worlds and continue to show anyone paying attention how defiant and not-intimidated they are.

Just an idea.

A flotilla carrying aid and activists including Greta Thunberg, is to leave Barcelona on Sunday, August 31st, to try to ‘break the blockade of Gaza,’ organizers said. The exact number of ships and the departure time were not given.

More boats are expected to leave from other Mediterranean ports, like Tunis, on September 4th. The flotilla aims to reach Gaza by mid-September.

Organizers call it the largest solidarity mission so far involving activists, lawmakers, and public figures from several countries.

The activists have not signaled intention to raise their voices for the Israeli hostages still held in Hamas dungeons in the Gaza Strip.

Half Of American Schools Require ‘Equitable’ Grading and Most Teachers Are Opposed: Survey

Lackluster student performance has plagued the Schenectady, N.Y., city school district for years.

That’s because the teachers are crap. They won’t admit that, of course.

The school district, like many others, implemented a “grading for equity” policy in response to dismal test scores.

All of which is designed so that Fashionable Minorities can get better grades than they actually deserve, which incidentally hiding the fact that their teachers are crap.

However, as Aaron Gifford reports below for The Epoch Times, a recent national survey indicates that most teachers feel grade equity actually hurts students long term, although more than half of the schools and districts across the nation engage in the practice.

Schenectady’s 2022-2023 academic report said 95 percent of its high school freshmen were behind in math by three or more grade levels.

A year later, the district reported that in the first quarter of the 2022-2023 school year, more than half of its middle school students (grades 6-8) were three or more grade levels behind in both reading and math, while the daily attendance rate for high schoolers had dipped below 79 percent.

Florida Probe Uncovers Migrant CDL Test Cheating With Hidden Cameras

Florida investigators say some migrants have been using hidden cameras and earpieces to cheat on commercial driver’s license (CDL) exams, allowing them to operate 18-wheelers despite not knowing English, according to WTLV-TV and Breitbart.

According to WTLV-TV, applicants used tiny cameras to transmit test questions outside DMV facilities, where an accomplice provided answers through an earpiece. Police in Jacksonville recently arrested several migrants in the scheme. One man was sentenced to eight months in prison, another was turned over to ICE, and others had cases dismissed after court-ordered conditions.

Officials describe the cheating operation as “highly organized” and likely active nationwide. It comes amid a rise in fatal crashes involving non-English-speaking truckers.

The Harsh Truth About Life In Canada Today

29th August 2025

Canada is often portrayed as a land of freedom, opportunity, and prosperity. Reality, however, tells a different story.

Statist policies, crushing taxes, bloated bureaucracy, and a society overtaken by woke ideology have shattered Canada. This is a cautionary tale for those looking at Canada as an ideal living space. If you are asking yourself what living in Canada is like, let me explain: Canada is not a land of fulfilled dreams but of enduring harsh conditions and barely getting by.

As if economic hardships aren’t enough, Canadians are also oppressed by the Orwellian newspeak that woke culture is creating. If you speak your mind, you’re labeled a fascist. If you question social policies, you’re accused of microaggressions.

There are no best places to live in Canada anymore. As a Canadian, I see little chance of Canada becoming livable again. Since I founded Expat Money in 2017, I have been helping expats build their Plan-Bs to protect their wealth and freedom and leave countries like this one.

Let’s look at the unfortunate condition that Canada has fallen into.

Blue State Blues: California Faces High Pump Prices as Phillips 66 Shuts L.A. Refinery

29th August 2025

Read it.

Phillips 66 will begin shutting down its 139,000 bpd Los Angeles-area refinery as soon as next week, sources told Reuters, moving forward on a closure plan announced last year. Units at the plant will idle in phases through Q4 2025, with the facility permanently offline by year-end.

The decision isn’t a surprise—Phillips 66 said in October it would exit the site, citing “market dynamics.” But it comes with fallout: about 600 employees and 300 contractors will lose their jobs by December, with only a handful reassigned to the company’s marine terminal. The company insists it will support workers through the transition, though local officials remain worried about the economic hit.

California, meanwhile, is staring at a bigger problem. Between Phillips 66’s LA facility and Valero’s Benicia refinery, scheduled to close in 2026, the state is set to lose roughly 17% of its refining capacity. That’s a dangerous haircut in a state already paying the nation’s highest pump prices. Analysts warn that by late 2026, California gasoline could top $8 a gallon if supply disruptions collide with fewer in-state refineries.

Read it.

The Justice Department has opened an investigation into the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) over the department’s focus on racial equity when hiring, promoting and retaining employees.

The government on Wednesday sent a letter to the agency claiming that CalEPA “may be engaged in employment practices that discriminate … based on race, color, sex, and national origin” due to a document titled “Practices to Advance Racial Equity in Workforce Planning,” which advocates for diverse interview panels and for “applying a racial equity lens to every phase of workforce development.”

“In publicly available guidance documents, CAL EPA highlights ‘hiring, promotion and retention practices and policies’ that indicate it may be using protected characteristics to ‘advance racial equity,'” the letter stated. “Further, [the California Air Resources Board] CARB, a division of CAL EPA, appears to use these policies to engage in discriminatory employment practices in its ‘Racial Equity Framework,’ which aims to advance race-based decision-making within the agency.”

Trump is obviously going to keep the pressure on Blue States to eradicate as much DEI nonsense has he can. Once he breaks the seeming right-side-of-history inevitability of Wokeness, we might be able to keep things on a more even keel … but it will take work and constant vigilance.

Remember, Trump hasn’t even finished his first year of this term. I suspect that Democrats are going to become very tired of losing before he passes the torch in 2028.

USDA Ends Biden-Era Program Favoring Farmers Based on Race, Gender

28th August 2025

Read it.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is no longer defending a Biden administration program that gave preferential treatment to farmers based on race and gender for loans, commodities, and conservation assistance, the Washington Examiner reported.

The USDA submitted a motion in a legal case declining to stand behind the initiative, according to a court filing obtained by the Examiner.

The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty had sued the USDA on behalf of a Wisconsin dairy farmer who said he was being discriminated against because he was white, the Examiner said.

Have you ever seen a ‘black farmer’? Ever heard tell of one? I was born and raised in Indiana farm country, and I never have. I suspect that this program was another race-based grift: Hey, black people! Pretend to be a farmer so we can give you money we don’t have to give to white people!

Dept of Education Probes Public School Sex Survey

28th August 2025

Read it.

The Department of Education has put the Burlington, Massachusetts, public school district on notice that it is reviewing the district’s actions of forcing students to take a sex and risk behavior study despite parental decisions to opt their kids out of participation.

The DOE posted that some parents denied the district permission to include their children in the survey, which included the sensitive topics of sexual behavior and gender. But those parental wishes were ignored by the district, and their children were still forced to complete the survey.

The survey was shared by the DOE. It involved extremely personal questions about sexual activities with graphic descriptions, including forced sexual activities. A question regarding gender included the statement: “Your sexual orientation is not the same as your gender identity.”

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser Praises Donald Trump’s Police Takeover

28th August 2025

Huffington Post, a Voice of the Wokerati.

Mayor Muriel Bowser on Wednesday praised President Donald Trump’s surge of federal police into the city, saying it had significantly reduced carjackings.

Officers from various federal law enforcement agencies have backed up the city’s Metropolitan Police Department on patrol in the city for the past two-and-a-half weeks, with the White House taking credit for more than 1,000 arrests assisted by federal officers.

“We greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what MPD has been able to do in this city,” Bowser said at a press conference. “The difference between this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year represents an 87% reduction in carjackings.”

You can almost see the raised eyebrows….

It’s Time for Americans to Start Talking About “Soft Secession”

28th August 2025

The Existential Republic, a Voice of the Crust.

Behind closed doors, blue state leaders are planning. They’re war-gaming scenarios where federal agents show up and continue to transgress further and further past what is “legal.” Daily the courts are showing that that something is legal when Trump wants it to happen, and illegal when he doesn’t. How does a government function under these circumstance?

For many state Attorney Generals and Governors, the legal briefs are already drafted. The strategy sessions have been running since December. “We saw this coming, even though we hoped it wouldn’t,” former Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum told The 19th days after Trump’s inauguration.

This is what American federalism looks like in 2025: Democratic governors holding emergency sessions on encrypted apps, attorneys general filing lawsuits within hours of executive orders, and state legislatures quietly passing laws that amount to nullification of federal mandates. Oregon is stockpiling abortion medication in secret warehouses. Illinois is exploring digital sovereignty. California has $76 billion in reserves and is deciding how to deploy it. Three sources on those daily Zoom calls between Democratic AGs say the same phrase keeps coming up, though nobody wants to say it publicly: soft secession.

Not the violent rupture of 1861, but something else entirely. Blue states building parallel systems, withholding cooperation, and creating facts on the ground that render federal authority meaningless within their borders.

Gee, right-wingers used to talk about such a system and the Wokerati (a) trash-talked it as being unAmerican and (b) made sure to come down like a ton of bricks (using their control of the levers of power) on anybody who tried it.

Sauce for the goose….

Why Red States Can’t Govern

27th August 2025

The American Mind.

Conservatives often imagine that winning statewide elections means gaining control over the machinery of government. But this is wrong—and dangerously so. For far too long, red states have confused the two. The assumption that political victory automatically confers political authority is one of the chief falsehoods circulating on the Right. It is the reason Republican states often look like Democratic ones, only with different bumper stickers.

This is an uncomfortable but necessary message for conservatives to hear: red states are facing a major crisis of governance.

The State Leadership Initiative’s new Index Report lays out the evidence in extensive detail. By the most basic measures of lean, accountable, and ideologically grounded government, red states are failing. Many of the policies their representatives are voting for and their governors are signing into law are profoundly out of step with the wishes of voters. Bureaucracies are bloated, universities multiply administrators faster than scholars, there are fewer teachers than administrators in schools, New York-style regulations pile up in red states like Texas, and seven of the ten most federally dependent states wear the Republican label.

‘This Is Lawfare’: AGs Draw Attention to Leftist Group Training Judges to Push Climate Alarmism

27th August 2025

Read it.

Twenty-three Republican state attorneys general sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, demanding the EPA investigate funding for the Environmental Law Institute, which the AGs said attempts to “rig the courts” against American energy.

The EPA confirmed receipt and reiterated Zeldin’s dedication to cutting down on wasteful spending from the previous administration. The EPA canceled two grants to the Environmental Law Institute in May.

“It’s outrageous that the Biden EPA has funneled over a million taxpayer dollars to an organization actively working to sway the judiciary in favor of climate nuisance lawsuits,” Jason Isaac, founder and CEO of the American Energy Institute, told The Daily Signal in a statement Tuesday.

“The Environmental Law Institute’s Climate Judiciary Project isn’t education; it’s a backdoor lobbying effort targeting judges with materials crafted by climate activists and litigation insiders,” Isaac added. “Taxpayer dollars should never bankroll a scheme to rig the courts against American energy. This is the kind of corruption President [Donald] Trump was elected to root out, and it’s time for the EPA to stop the grants.”

Female Students Seeking Bathroom Privacy Required to Fill Out ‘Mental Health Accomodation’ Form

27th August 2025

American Greatness.

A California school district has enacted a new rule for young girls who are uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with biological males pretending to be girls, requiring the girls to file a mental health accommodation request.

The Temecula Valley Unified School District TVUSD has reportedly enacted a rule that tells female students who feel uncomfortable sharing bathroom space with biological males must file a mental health accommodation request under federal law if they want privacy.

The move has prompted outrage from parents and others who say that the rule treats those girls who object to sharing private space with biological males as the problem and treating their request for privacy as a type of disability.

3 States Face Federal Cuts Over Trucker English Enforcement

27th August 2025

Read it.

California, Washington, and New Mexico could lose millions of dollars in federal funding if they continue failing to enforce English language requirements for truckers, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Tuesday.

An investigation launched after a deadly Florida crash involving a foreign truck driver who made an illegal U-turn on Aug. 12 found what Duffy called significant failures in how all three states are enforcing rules that took effect in June after one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders. He said the department was already reviewing enforcement before the crash.

Truckers are supposed to be disqualified if they can’t demonstrate English proficiency. Duffy said the driver in the crash should not have been given a commercial driver’s license because of his immigration status. The crash has become increasingly political, with the governors of California and Florida criticizing each other, and Duffy highlighting the administration’s immigration concerns.

Virginia School ‘Brands My Son a Predator’ for Desiring the Same Bathroom Privacy Afforded to ‘Male Staff,’ Mom Says

26th August 2025

Read it.

Parents are condemning as hypocrisy the fact that a Northern Virginia high school notorious for allowing boys in girls’ bathrooms and girls in the boys’ locker room also has a bathroom specifically designated for “male staff only.”

“This sends a mixed signal to everybody about the expectations of privacy,” a father of a junior at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview Tuesday.

“How do they have their own bathrooms if our own students don’t have their own bathrooms?” the father asked.

The Daily Signal reached out to Loudoun County Public Schools and Stone Bridge Principal Timothy Flynn for comment but did not receive a response by press time.

The Student Debt Racket

26th August 2025

Read it.

The student debt crisis isn’t a natural market phenomenon; it’s the predictable result of decades of government interference. Since 1980, average tuition and fees have increased by 1,200 percent, while consumer price inflation has risen only 236 percent over the same period. This massive increase has left students and families struggling to keep up, often forcing them to take on substantial debt just to attend college. Today, over 42.7 million Americans owe a combined $1.69 trillion in federal student loan debt. A combination of federal policies, including subsidized loans, government grants, bloated university budgets, and a complete lack of accountability, has fueled the relentless rise in tuition costs. As a result, higher education—once seen as a path to opportunity—has become a debt trap for millions.

‘Unhinged Judge’ Who Released Abrego Garcia From Jail Blocks His Deportation After ICE Takes Him into Custody

26th August 2025

Newsbusters.

A judge deemed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be “unhinged” has blocked the deportation of infamous illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia just hours after U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) took him into custody three days after the judge released him from jail.

“An unhinged judge in Maryland ordered [Abrego Garcia’s] release, despite his status as an MS-13 gang member, being indicted by a grand jury for human trafficking, and being subject to arrest under immigration law,” DHS reported on Friday.

On Monday, U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that ICE had taken Abrego Garcia into custody and intended to deport him to Uganda.

Abrego Garcia’s attorneys immediately filed a habeas corpus petition – and Judge Xinis promptly complied, telling DHS that “Your clients are absolutely forbidden at this juncture to remove Mr. Abrego Garcia from the continental United States.”

Judge Xinis also suggested she will block the deportation of Abrego Garcia to Uganda – because it’s not the illegal alien’s “country of choice,” ABC News reports:

Airport Boss Blasts Wealth Taxes and ‘Wokery’ in Starmer’s Britain

26th August 2025

The Times (UK).

He is the boss of one of the UK’s busiest private airports and spends his days catering to Hollywood celebrities and global pop stars. Will Curtis, however, has Sir Keir Starmer in his sights.

Curtis, the managing director of London Oxford airport and London Heliport, claims Britain has become “borderline uninvestable” under Labour.

He said the consensus among ultra-high-net-worth individuals was that “ever-increasing taxation” and “misguided regulation” has led to millionaires not seeing the UK as an attractive place to invest in any more.

Restoring the U.S. Census

25th August 2025

The American Mind.

In 1790, the first United States census was a straightforward affair. Marshals rode on horseback, counted people where they lived, and returned with ledgers that would determine representation in Congress. The idea was as simple as it was profound: political power should follow the actual number of people—not estimates, not probabilities, not manipulated figures—residing in each state. This “actual Enumeration,” written into Article I, Section 2 of the Constitution, was meant to be one of the republic’s great safeguards of equal representation.

Two hundred thirty years later, the Census Bureau turned that safeguard upside down and thwarted the will of voters. In 2020, it implemented “differential privacy,” an opaque algorithm that deliberately injects false numbers into small-area data. Supposedly designed to protect privacy and identities, it instead scrambled population counts in ways that Harvard researchers found made it “impossible to follow the principle of ‘One Person, One Vote.’”

At the same time, the incoming Biden Administration dismantled the Administrative Records Project, the Trump-era initiative that would have allowed the bureau to use existing federal data to determine citizenship and correct census errors. The result was a census that was riddled with miscounts, opaque to challenge, and constitutionally suspect.

The decision to implement differential privacy was made at the precise moment it became clear that President Trump intended to exclude illegal aliens from apportionment counts in the 2020 census. By scrambling block-level data and erasing the probability of independent verification, the permanent bureaucracy insulated itself from oversight and judicial review. This was the administrative state’s “insurance policy”—to create an algorithm that would outlast any presidential term and ensure that apportionment would inflate blue states. Citizenship status was also buried under layers of statistical noise.
