Although Judge Scott McAfee of the Fulton County Superior Court declined to throw out the whole indictment under the Constitution’s supremacy clause, he found that some charges did “lie beyond this state’s jurisdiction,” including the two counts against Trump and another against his co-defendants.
Willis indicted Trump and 18 others in August 2023, alleging that they interfered in the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
“President Trump and his legal team in Georgia have prevailed once again,” Steve Sadow, lead counsel for Trump in the Fulton County case, said in a formal statement. “The trial court has decided that counts 15 and 27 in the indictment must be quashed/dismissed.”

A school of political science founded in Lyon by Marion Maréchal MEP has been vandalised by Antifa-style militants, protesting the visit of Transmania author Marguerite Stern, who was scheduled to give a lecture on transgender ideology.
The Institute of Social, Economic and Political Sciences (Institut de Sciences Sociales, Economiques et Politiques, or ISSEP) set itself the goal of training a new elite of committed people who are off the beaten track of ‘woke’ correctness—allowing Maréchal to continue her political struggle by other means. It boasts a teaching team keen to host personalities who speak a different political language.
Stern’s visit is scheduled for Thursday, September 19th. In an attempt to prevent the conference from taking place, antifascist groups in Lyon launched an intimidation campaign against the university. After sending threats by email and on social media, the activists took action by spray-painting graffiti on the façade of the institute, which read, among other things, “hi, trans fight back!”, or “Stern get lost”.

Who would have guessed that EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s embarrassing (and frankly, undemocratic) obsession with reaching the desired gender balance in her new cabinet would backfire so spectacularly that it might even cripple the entire formation process? Well, nearly everyone but her, apparently. Coupled with von der Leyen’s biggest weakness, transparency—or the lack thereof—the political storm she stirred up in Slovenia perfectly encapsulates everything that’s wrong with her rule.
As we explained in several articles before, von der Leyen began forming her second Commission by pleading with member states to nominate both male and female candidates for her to choose from, even though the treaties say that should be none of her business. When she inevitably got “a middle finger” from countries instead, as one diplomat put it, she began pressuring smaller and politically weaker member states to change their picks to women by dangling more influential portfolios in front of them if they did.
She did manage to persuade one country—Romania—before the official deadline for nominations came to pass, and later, another one—Slovenia—but only after its initial male candidate, Tomaž Vesel, was locked in and the liberal PM Robert Golob said he was “confident” he was the right man for the job.

The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO)–global guardian of trademarks and patents–is cracking down on the use of so-called masculine terminology in its communications and documentation.
Out go such words as ‘forefathers,’ ‘lumberjack,’ and ‘cavemen,’ and the phrase ‘brotherhood of man.’ In comes a series of stretched neologisms, with all the charm of something thrown together by committee—if not by a veterinarian trying to reassemble animals amid a butcher’s shop window display.
Despite widespread mockery, the process of eliminating ‘problematic’ words also has a sinister side. The Geneva-based organisation’s new Guidelines on inclusive language document claims that using “masculine-specific” terms risks giving the impression that “women are not represented in certain groups or do not possess certain skills.”

When The New York Times tells you that the United States Constitution is a threat to democracy — As it did on the front page of its August 31 edition — you know that you are in thrall to exceedingly subtle minds. The Times only employs persons, both birthing and other, of the subtlest minds. You can tell because they are credentialed by our country’s finest institutions of educational credentialing.
They come to The Times fully equipped with the armamentarium of advanced, progressive, innovative, nuanced, cutting-edge modes of understanding our world — which, you’ll agree, is a pretty goshdurned complex place, and rather niggardly in yielding its secret workings. Hence, The Times has concluded that the Constitution is flawed, perhaps fatally, because it allowed for the election of Donald Trump once, and now, possibly, a second time.

Between hysterical outrage and blasé indifference in the face of mass murder is a post-war state religion, organized around the doctrine that Hitler was not a human being, but literally the devil.
According to the precepts of Hitlerian Satanism, never explicitly formalized but everywhere visible through the distortion effects they exerts, World War II was not a political conflict, but a crusade against evil. It could not have been averted, and none of its destructive consequences, including the holocaust, could have been prevented except maybe by earlier action.
Because they were fighting the devil, all of the measures adopted by the US-led forces were justified, including the military alliance with a Soviet terror state which, over the previous decade, had murdered perhaps twenty million of its own citizens in concentration camps and politically engineered mass starvations, which are today widely defended as logistical errors. This criminally sadistic regime, which started the war in alliance with Germany and ended it as the ally of the Western democracies and the master of an Eastern European police empire, following a campaign of mass rape, and indiscriminate murder of European civilians, was our noble Antifascist ally, now and forever: nobody today will face consequences for being a Stalin-apologist.
Most of the time of the ‘thought-leaders’ (if such they can be called) of the modern Crust is devoted the The Hunt For The New Hitler, meaning any non-Woke person who achieves any kind of notoriety. Now it’s Trump; before that it was a broad assemblage of people from Rush Limbaugh to Mitt Romney; and before that it was anyone who had ever been in the same room with Richard Nixon without puking.
Indeed, if there hadn’t be a Hitler, the Left would have been forced to invent him.
By 1953, Leo Strauss, himself a refugee from Hitler’s Germany, had noticed the emerging intellectual maneuver of the reductio ad Hitlerum or the rhetorical move, in which a thought is held to be refuted or illegitimate because it is said to have been held by Hitler: a principle which finally generates the condemnation, not only of his deranged ideology, but also all of the ordinary thoughts that he held as a man of his time.
People need to be reminded constantly that just because Hitler said or believed something is not sufficient to make it wrong.

After all the culture-enriching knife carnage in Solingen last month, followed by this month’s antique rifle jihad in Munich, the German Green Party wants to solve the problem of “radicalization” by shutting down Twitter.
There’s no denying that the Internet helps accelerate the transformation of ordinary observant Muslims into raging mujahideen. But the mosques are also well-known as hotbeds of “radicalization” — so why not shut down the mosques? No, of course we can’t do that. It would be racist and Islamophobic. Better to keep everyone off X and Telegram instead.

A lawmaker for the German anti-immigration party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has had his bank account closed for unknown reasons. Sascha Schlösser, a recently elected member of the Thuringia state parliament, made the public aware of his plight in a post on X on Thursday, September 5th.
“The DKB [Deutsche Kreditbank Aktiengesellschaft] did not miss the opportunity to congratulate me on my election as a member of the state parliament for the AfD and has terminated all my accounts,” he wrote, attaching a photo of the letter sent to him by his bank. The bank did not give a reason for the closure, but all signs point to yet another ‘debanking’ scandal—where financial institutions get rid of clients for political reasons.

After the Biden coup, Kamala phoned Rev. Amos Brown to pray for her political campaign. Kamala, an “old timer” and “dues paying” member of Brown’s church had turned to one of the most hateful political figures in her old city to offer spiritual inspiration for her presidential bid.
“America has not changed” since the days of segregation, Kamala’s pastor had argued while revisiting the killing of Emmett Till. “This sin of race is so deep, so pervasive in the body politic of America that if we don’t find a remnant to help turn things around, America is going to go down.”
Rev. Amos Brown, a politically influential minister known to some as the Sharpton of San Francisco, had a long history of race-baiting and of accusing America of racism.

Harvard University has refused to cooperate with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office’s investigation into the assault of an Israeli business school student that occurred during a protest in October 2023. That decision has delayed the ongoing criminal case against two of the students caught on camera accosting their Jewish classmate, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.
Assistant District Attorney Ursula Knight, who leads the office’s Civil Rights and High-Risk Victims Unit and is prosecuting two of the students who participated in the assault, during a Wednesday hearing admonished the university.
“Harvard police essentially refused to investigate,” she said, according to an attendee, adding that the school’s behavior “has been a shock to the Commonwealth.”

The deadline for EU member states to put forward their picks for the next European Commission passed on Sunday with all 27 capitals successfully naming their candidates. The ball is now in President-elect Ursula von der Leyen’s court to divide the portfolios between them as she sees fit before the incoming commissioners stand before the European Parliament for the approval of MEPs.
But von der Leyen has a problem: only nine candidates are women (excluding herself) and 17 are men, something she sees as unacceptable in the current age. In order to reach gender parity, she even asked countries to put forth two names this year—a man’s and a woman’s—for her to mix and match for the best results. However, as commissioner nominations are an exclusive member state competence, all but one country (Bulgaria) ignored this ridiculous (and frankly, undemocratic) request.
When your priority is quotas rather than competence, you’re going to lose.

There’s nothing remarkable about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Mongolia on Tuesday — he’s due to meet the country’s leader, hold talks on developing bilateral ties and attend a gala reception.
What is unusual is that Mongolia, as a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), should have arrested the Russian president as soon as he landed on Mongolian soil Monday evening.
Putin is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the ICC in March 2023. The court alleged that he is responsible for war crimes, with a particular focus on the unlawful deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia.
At the time, the Kremlin described the ICC’s actions as “outrageous and unacceptable” and said they had no effect on Russia, which is not a member of the ICC.
Mongolia has now found itself in hot water as Putin visits the country — his first visit to an ICC member state since the arrest warrant was issued — with apparent impunity.
Under the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the ICC that came into effect in 2002, ICC member states are obliged to detain and surrender to the court any persons who are subject to an ICC arrest warrant, if they set foot on their soil.
The court has no way to enforce the rule, however, and Mongolia defied it by welcoming Putin with a guard of honor as he met President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, on Tuesday.
The do-gooders establish these feel-good institutions that parade around at the expense of taxpayers, and do absolutely nothing except provide well-paying and pompous-sounding jobs for favored apparatchiks. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee yesterday that the government pressured his company to censor content during the Covid-19 pandemic and said he regrets following their wishes. The committee described his comments as a “big win for free speech.”
Meta produced thousands of documents for the committee’s investigation into alleged government censorship and Zuckerberg wrote the supplemental letter to outline what he had learned during the process. “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain Covid-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree,” he said. Zuckerberg said content related to Hunter Biden’s laptop was also in the sights of government officials, as the FBI approached Meta and warned stories of Biden family corruption were part of a “potential Russian disinformation operation.” Meta complied by demoting articles related to these issues.
“Like I said to our teams at the time, I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any administration in either direction,” Zuckerberg wrote. He promised that his company would be ready to push back on government pressure in the future and said he wished he had handled the situation differently ahead of the 2020 election.

If you’re of a certain age, like I am, you probably remember those bumper stickers that exhorted us all to Question Authority. It was the mark of a thinking person not to take everything at face value, in particular the words of the government or government agencies.
I remember once going to an SDS meeting when I was in college. I was never a leftist but I suppose I was toying with it a bit at the time (this was during the Vietnam War). But what I saw and heard at that meeting repelled me on a gut level and I never went back. That one meeting cured me of any interest in taking the left as an authority on anything, except their angry, ranting, incoherent, narcissistic selves.
I wish I could remember what was said, but I don’t. I only remember the sense I had of dangerous people who were also stupid, and yet very very arrogant. That just about summed it up.

A Pennsylvania teacher who was fired for allegedly attending the U.S. Capitol “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, has won a wrongful termination lawsuit after a two-week trial.

But on Jan. 7, the district issued a news release stating a district employee “was involved in the electoral college protest.” In it, Superintendent Thomas Parker did note the district “has an obligation to respect the First Amendment rights of our staff.”
District Solicitor John Freund also had said “only after knowing all the facts” could the district act in a manner that “balances First Amendment rights with the higher standards set for public school teachers.”
These standards include “teachers’ duty not to participate in or advocate un-American or subversive doctrines.”

Robin DiAngelo, the best-selling author of White Fragility, is a big believer in citing minorities.
In an “accountability” statement on her website, which makes repeated reference to her Ph.D., DiAngelo, 67, tells “fellow white people” that they should “always cite and give credit to the work of BIPOC people who have informed your thinking.”
It doesn’t matter if their contribution is just a few words. “When you use a phrase or idea you got from a BIPOC person,” DiAngelo says, referring to black, indigenous, and other people of color, “credit them.”
But the white diversity trainer has not always taken her own advice. According to a complaint filed last week with the University of Washington, where DiAngelo received her Ph.D. in multicultural education, she plagiarized several scholars—including two minorities—in her doctoral thesis.

A federal court ruled last week that an Ohio school district violated the First Amendment rights of a Christian teacher, which experts are hailing as a victory for free speech and religious liberty.
Hired as a full-time English teacher at the end of the 2021 academic school year, Vivian Geraghty had resigned from her position in 2022 after being told to use a student’s “preferred pronouns.” The argument she gave in her lawsuit was that the use of pronouns that didn’t reflect the child’s biological sex “would force her to embrace the concept of gender identity against her religious belief that God created two unchanging sexes, male and female.”
According to district court Judge Pamela Barker, the Jackson Local School District “compelled Geraghty to use the students’ preferred names and pronouns.” In doing so, it forced the teacher “to utter what was not in her mind about a question of political and religious significance.”

ADF has pointed to numerous instances of what it describes as debanking, though the banks in question claim the denials of service were not religiously or politically motivated.

The Civil War tore America apart and left 600,000 dead. Still, despite its ferocity, it had at its heart only one big issue: whether the Constitution’s promise of individual liberty overrode states’ rights to govern themselves. Otherwise, Americans were much the same: the Bible, hard work, heterosexuality, the nuclear family, anti-crime, etc.
America today actually faces a more profound schism than it did then because we’ve become two entirely different people.

MPs voted for legislation last year that would ban silent prayer within ‘buffer zones’ 150 metres around the location of a clinic or hospital providing abortion services.
However, this has not come come into force and guidance was subsequently published allowing silent prayer within ‘safe access zones’ where activists would be able to hand out leaflets and engage in conversations with women considering abortions.
The guidance stated that, “Silent prayer, being the engagement of the mind and thought in prayer towards God, is protected as an absolute right under the Human Rights Act 1998 and should not, on its own, be considered to be an offence under any circumstances.”
The issue shot to public attention in March 2023 when campaigner Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was arrested by police for silently praying in front of a British Pregnancy Advisory Services clinic that was subject to a ‘buffer zone’ order.

Do you want a perspective other than the stifling woke orthodoxy being imposed on society through classrooms, TV shows, and corporate boardrooms? Tired of seeing “LGBTQ” this and “BIPOC” or “AAPI” that? Do you want a discussion of ideas without constant identity politics?
You just might be a white supremacist.

The top practitioners of critical race theory just held a weeklong “summer school” in Nashville, Tennessee, to strategize, assess the movement, and debate how best to proselytize the next generation. It was an instructive six days of revolutionary agitprop.
Two things immediately stood out. The first is that, yes, despite its protestations to the contrary, the architects of CRT know they must focus intently on those who participate in the teaching profession. If CRT is a tool to be used for “revolutionizing a culture,” as its intellectual godfather, Derrick Bell, once put it, it must be implemented by teachers starting in K-12 and through graduate school.
K-12 teachers, along with students at all levels, were given special ticket prices to the CRT conference at a deep discount, as my colleague and friend Jonathan Butcher pointed out. K-12 principals also were given a special package, though at a smaller discount.

We have witnessed two types of rioting here in the UK since three little girls were murdered in the northern English town of Southport on July 29th by the son of Rwandan immigrants.
There have been physical riots in assorted towns and cities; local outbursts of brick-chucking violent unrest involving clashes with police, and some reprehensible attacks on hostels holding migrants or mosques. These riots pose an immediate problem of public order; they may have abated, at least for now.
And then there is the national counter-riot of political prejudice staged by the Labour government, the mainstream media, and the rest of the liberal establishment, left-handedly hurling brickbats at everybody from Nigel Farage to Elon Musk.
Unlike the incoherent protests on the streets, this top-down political riot has a clear aim: exploiting the unrest to try to shift the blame for Britain’s problems onto “far-right thugs,” smear the white working class as racists, and justify a new crackdown on free speech and democracy.
