Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of the football team Manchester United, has apologised for his previous comments claiming Britain is “colonised” by immigrants after facing backlash from the political left for his views.

Radcliffe issued a statement expressing regret over his remarks, saying, “I am sorry that my choice of language has offended some people in the UK and Europe … It is important to raise the issue of controlled and well-managed immigration that supports economic growth.”

Note that he didn’t retract his remarks; he merely expressed regret that ‘some people’ were offended. This is the non-apology ‘apology’ people put out when they aren’t really apologizing but want to appear polite.

The Football Association (FA) launched an investigation into his comments to see if they breach the organisation’s ‘hate speech’ policies, despite the apology. Another statement by Ratcliffe—”You can’t have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in”—is also under evaluation for potentially breaching the FA’s policies.

He still may get cancelled, since the Football Association appears to have some pretty Woke rules in place. If I where him, I’d look to sell his interest in the team and focus on other hobbies.

Raised on a council estate in Greater Manchester as the son of a joiner, Ratcliffe moved his primary residence to the tax haven of Monaco in 2020 to avoid up to £4 billion of tax.

Climate alarmism has lost at the ballot box time and time again, and last year, even Bill Gates significantly dialed down his support for it. However, enterprising lawyers on the Left are still trying to smuggle in an effective carbon tax through the courts—and the Supreme Court should put an end to it.

It works like this: local governments or activist groups file a lawsuit against oil and gas companies, claiming that the burning of fossil fuels impacts the climate, and these impacts negatively harmed people. Activist lawyers bring cases in state courts that are more likely to rule in their favor, and—presto!—you’ve got a “carbon tax” imposed on oil and gas companies without needing a vote in Congress.

Don’t take my word for it. David Bookbinder, who served as part of the legal team representing the left-leaning city and county of Boulder in suing oil companies, described the climate lawfare as “an indirect carbon tax.”

“Tort liability is an indirect carbon tax,” Bookbinder said on a Federalist Society panel in October. “You sue an oil company, an oil company is liable. The oil company then passes that liability on to the people who are buying its products.”

Tellingly, he added, “I’d prefer an actual carbon tax, but if we can’t get one of those… this is a rather, somewhat convoluted way, to achieve the goals of a carbon tax.”

The thing is, the law isn’t supposed to work that way.

This comes after his investigative video highlighted millions in taxpayer funds vanishing into ghost daycares with no children in sight.

For several years now, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has made the presence of Christian images and symbols in public spaces one of its recurring battles. After Italy was pressured through litigation to remove crucifixes from its schools, Greece is now being targeted over the presence of holy icons in its courts. Italy ultimately won its case. Will Greece succeed in safeguarding this essential part of its historical and spiritual heritage?

Some cases have a long life. In 2009, the ECtHR issued a ruling requiring Italy to remove crucifixes from public schools. The unprecedented mobilisation of twenty-one European states alongside Italy forced it to back down, and two years later, in 2011, in the case known as Lautsi v. Italy, it finally handed down a ruling in favour of Italy’s position, allowing it to keep its crucifixes.

The Lautsi case was followed by a period of relative calm in the fight against the presence of religious symbols (Christian, needless to say) in public spaces.

In 2020, a request was filed inviting the ECtHR to take up another contentious case: the presence of Orthodox icons in Greek courts.

Shortly before Christmas, the U.S. State Department slapped visa sanctions on five individuals whom it described as being agents of a “global censorship-industrial complex” bent on restricting the freedom of speech of Americans. The headliner of the sanctions list was, of course, Thierry Breton, the former EU internal market commissioner, who spearheaded efforts to enforce the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) during the last years of his tenure in the Commission. But the directors of three organizations allegedly involved in censorship activities were also sanctioned: HateAid, the Global Disinformation Index, and the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

As discussed in my recent portrait of HateAid, the German organization is directly integrated into the DSA censorship system as a so-called trusted flagger of allegedly illegal or harmful online content. Under the DSA, online platforms and search engines are required to give priority treatment to the notifications of ‘trusted flaggers’ precisely because they have been certified as ‘trusted’ by EU member state governments—in this case, the German government.

But even though it does not have ‘trusted flagger’ status, another of the organizations targeted by the U.S. sanctions has likewise been a major player in the EU’s efforts to ‘regulate’ online speech, which in fact began many years before the passage of the DSA. Moreover, it, too, has important, if largely unclarified, ties to Germany. The organization in question is the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), whose executive director and best-known figure, Clare Melford, was placed on the sanctions list.

It has come as a shock to many of us in the alternative media sphere when, on December 15, the EU put the esteemed analyst, political commentator, and former Swiss Army colonel Jacques Baud, on its Russia-Sanctions list. He was one of several newly sanctioned individuals (alongside, for instance, the popular French journalist, Xavier Moreau). Baud is already the second Swiss to be sanctioned. In June 2025, the EU announced that Nathalie Yamb, a Swiss-Cameroonian activist against neocolonialism, would be sanctioned.

Being on the EU sanctions list is a devastating event for the people concerned, especially if they reside in an EU country or a closely associated state like Switzerland, Norway, or the UK. It means banks will freeze their accounts, credit companies will cancel their cards, they are not allowed to enter into contracts with EU-affiliated companies or private persons, and no business in the EU is allowed to have dealings with them, which, in theory, even precludes them from buying bread and other necessities of life. Furthermore, many international businesses will cancel all their services to them, including mail providers, social media platforms, etc. Even Swiss banks freeze or cancel accounts, out of fear they might get in trouble if they don’t comply with EU regulations. I recently interviewed two sanctioned people, Nathalie Yamb and Hüsseyin Dogru, and their testimonies are heartbreaking. The U.S. agency that enforces laws banning workplace discrimination said in a court filing Wednesday it is investigating Nike for allegedly discriminating against white people through its diversity policies.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said in the filing that Nike has refused to comply with a sprawling subpoena seeking information such as data on the racial and ethnic makeup of the company’s workforce and a roster of employees chosen for mentoring and development programs.

The commission said it is investigating allegations that Nike intentionally discriminated against white employees and job applicants, including by disproportionately targeting them for layoffs, and that it needed the information to determine whether Nike violated the law.

Club owner Bill Collins cited threats, media frenzy, and street chaos as the reasons for the cancellation. “After discussions with, and concern from public authorities, legal counsel and staff, combined with heightened threats, increasing media attention and civil disorder, we have determined the risks and related liabilities cannot be overcome,” Collins told People Magazine.

One week after the European Commission opened a new formal investigation into Elon Musk’s X under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and expanded a separate probe launched in December 2023, X’s Paris office was raided by France’s cybercrime unit as part of an investigation into the distribution of sexual deepfakes and Holocaust denial content.

“A search is being carried out at the French premises of X by the cybercrime unit of the Paris public prosecutor’s office, together with @CyberGEND and @Europol , as part of the investigation opened in January 2025,” the Paris prosecutors’ office wrote on X early Tuesday.

The Paris public prosecutor’s office also said it is leaving the X platform and will post exclusively on Reid Hoffman’s LinkedIn and Meta-owned Instagram.

Turin, Italy saw scenes of extreme violence on Saturday during a demonstration agains the eviction of the illegally occupied Askatasuna anarchist ’social centre’ last December. The centre was shut down and the property seized at the end of last year by DIGOS, the General Investigations and Special Operations Division (DIGOS) of the Italian Police, after the centre’s activists took part in an attack against the headquarters of Italian newspaper La Stampa.

The Saturday protest quickly escalated and for about an hour, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., it turned into what the authorities describe as urban guerrilla warfare. Reportedly, at one point a large group of demonstrators pulled out homemade shields, and initiating a clash with the riot police. The violent mob burned garbage cans, and threw stones, fireworks and smoke bombs at the police.

Yet another example of why American parents are increasingly pulling their kids out of public institutions and turning to home schooling. Parents at an elementary school in Kansas are upset after students were reportedly told that they were not allowed to list President Donald Trump, late conservative activist Charlie Kirk and even Jesus Christ as their role models for an assignment.

The incident at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka, Kansas occurred in October and only recently came to light because students were originally instructed not to tell their parents about what happened. The American Center for Law & Justice, described as “a politically conservative, Christian-based legal organization,” has filed a formal civil rights complaint with the school.

The complaint accuses the district and Marshall Elementary School of religious discrimination, political or viewpoint discrimination, violation of free speech rights and retaliation. Students say a school guidance counselor, Kacey Countryman, gave sixth-graders an assignment called “Find Your Voice” as part of their “Leader In Me” program. They were asked to identify their role models, but conservative role models were apparently not allowed.

“When a student identified Charlie Kirk as a role model, the guidance counselor got very uncomfortable and refused to allow this name to be written on the board, yelling that he was ‘not a hero,’ and that he was not a role model,” the complaint says. When a student chose Trump as their role model, the guidance counselor reportedly had the same response.

Irish teacher Enoch Burke has been returned to Mountjoy Prison after defying a High Court order concerning a school policy on transgender students.

Burke, a teacher of German and history and an Evangelical Christian, was arrested by Gardaí at Wilson’s Hospital School in Co. Westmeath on the morning of January 19th and taken to the High Court in Dublin.

Burke had been released from prison just days earlier to prepare legal proceedings against a disciplinary appeals body reviewing his dismissal from the school. His release was conditional on avoiding the school premises, but he appeared there multiple times, stating that it was “my duty to be at my workplace.” The High Court ordered his immediate return to prison after finding that he repeatedly breached the court injunction.

Enoch Burke has been imprisoned multiple times since late 2022 for breaching a High Court injunction that barred him from the school.

The dispute originated when Burke objected on religious grounds to a request from school management to address a transitioning student by a new name and the pronoun “they.” Burke has consistently argued that complying would violate his Christian beliefs and constitutional rights. Over the course of the legal proceedings, he has spent more than 560 days in prison and faced fines totaling €225,000.

Conservative activist Jake Lang was physically assaulted Saturday during an “anti-Islam” rally in downtown Minneapolis, leaving him with scrapes and bruises as counterprotesters overwhelmed the small demonstration, local reports say.

Lang, a controversial figure pardoned this year by President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot, organized a protest in support of federal immigration enforcement.

As he left the area, a crowd of counterdemonstrators confronted the group and Lang appeared to be struck, suffering noticeable injuries. Police intervened and ordered crowds to disperse.

A man was seen on video allegedly being chased into a parking garage and struck in the head with a flagpole by a mob of apparent anti-ICE agitators, as violent protests unfolded Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis.

The mob continued following the unidentified man, who was walking to a car in the garage to leave, and allegedly pepper sprayed a gash on his head and struck the wound with their hands.

“I’m trying to be done, but you guys keep harassing me,” he told the crowd, his jacket soaked with blood.

A protester could be heard shouting into a megaphone, “Hey no seriously, this guy needs medical help—he needs mental help. The bleeding is natural for Nazis, but he needs mental help.”

“F— you Nazi,” agitators shouted as they followed him into the garage.

The Irish schoolteacher who became famous over his perseverance in protecting his freedom of conscience returned to his former workplace on Thursday morning, January 15th, less than 24 hours after being released from prison, despite a High Court warning that doing so could see him jailed again.

Enoch Burke, a German and history teacher and an Evangelical Christian, arrived at Wilson’s Hospital School in central Ireland shortly after 9.15 a.m., one day after walking free from Mountjoy Prison in Dublin.

Burke had been released on Wednesday by the High Court to allow him to prepare legal proceedings against a disciplinary appeals body reviewing his dismissal from the school.

The judge warned that the release was conditional on Burke not presenting himself at the school and stated that he would be returned to prison if he did.

Melissa Martin, a veteran Texas educator with some 30 years of experience, was thrilled when the state passed a law in 2025 that required the state’s 9,000 public schools to post the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

For Martin, it was a bright spot—a swing back toward classical education rooted in Western civilization in an otherwise liberal teaching environment.

Her excitement quickly turned to disappointment at the Houston-based public charter school in which she works.

“I was real surprised when they didn’t jump at putting the Ten Commandments up,” she told The Epoch Times.

?Texas’ Senate Bill 10 has sparked the nation’s largest state-led effort to put the Ten Commandments into schools—and it is facing concerted legal challenges. A hearing on the constitutionality of the new law is scheduled before the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals this month.

The majority of debanking cases in the US are a result of government pressure, rather than individual banks’ policies, according to a new report from the American think tank the Cato Institute.

Cato Institute analyst Nicholas Anthony explained in a report on Thursday that debanking could take several forms: religious or political, the idea that a financial institution closes accounts solely due to political or religious belief or affiliation; operational, when a bank chooses to close a customer’s account as it’s no longer in the bank’s interest; or government, when a government pressures a financial institution to close a customer’s account.

“While media and political narratives often attribute these closures to political or religious discrimination, this study finds that the majority of debanking cases stem from governmental pressure,” he said.

A shocking scene played out in a Latin American country Thursday, but this time it’s not Venezuela, but nearby Honduras.

A Honduran legislator from the country’s conservative National Party of president-elect Nasry Asfura was speaking to the press within the halls of the Honduran national congress, or just outside, when suddenly an explosive device was thrown, detonating just behind her head. The disturbing incident, which she survived, was filmed given the many cameras around at the time of the attack.

Deputies had been summoned to meet, and the attack victim – Gladis Aurora López – collapsed to the floor during the explosion, her jacket left torn apart.

Witnesses immediately rushed her to begin giving her medical attention, and authorities in a later update announced that her injuries were thankfully not life-threatening.

Violence is a primary political tool for those on the Left. Their calls for ‘revolution’ leave no doubt of that.

John Solomon’s Just the News reports that a dark-money NGO network tied to CCP-linked communist billionaire Neville Roy Singham was allgedly activated as a command-and-control support node to organize nationwide anti-ICE protests just hours after the deadly shooting in Minneapolis.

“China may be helping astroturf far-left protests against ICE via a financial network in league with radical-left financier and multi-millionaire Neville Roy Singham. Singham funds a network of groups expressing anti-American sentiment,” Solomon’s team wrote in a note.

On Wednesday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) wrote on X, “I have formally made a motion to subpoena Neville Singham, an American billionaire with ties to the CCP.”

During a House Oversight Committee meeting earlier that day, Luna said the China-based Singham “has been funding extremist organizations that fuel division and civil unrest in this country, especially regarding the anti-ICE riots last summer.”

A teacher in an English school was accused of posing a risk to children and referred to the Government’s counter-terrorism programme after showing Donald Trump videos to his US politics class.

The teacher, who is in his 50s, has told The Telegraph he was “likened to a terrorist” after showing the videos, including one of Mr Trump’s inauguration, to A-level students.

Henley College, a sixth-form in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, with more than 2,000 students, reported the politics lecturer to the local child safeguarding authority, which concluded a referral to Prevent, the Government’s counter-terrorism programme, was a “priority”.

‘Sixth form’ is a two-year program corresponding to 11th and 12th grades in the U.S. Typically British education stops at what Americans would consider the 10th grade, with the final two years only given to people intending to continues to University. Students completing the ordinary course take the test for GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) or ‘school-leaving certificate’ (which used to be called ‘O-levels’), which is sort of the British equivalent of the American high-school diploma. A ‘sixth-form college’ will give students an additional two years of college prep, after which they take the ‘A-level’ exams to find out what university admittance they can expect. It’s the sort of highly-centralized government-centric sytem that underscores the contrast between how the British do things and how Americans do things.

On the first day of AmericaFest, Turning Point USA’s convention in Phoenix, Ben Shapiro lit into a host of conservatives that he said were “frauds and grifters.”

He listed Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Steve Bannon as “charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty.” Together, he said on Thursday, they presented a danger to the conservative movement.

Shapiro was extending an assault that he began earlier in the week during a speech at the Heritage Foundation, a heart of conservatism that has been thrown into turmoil by its president’s backing of Carlson after Carlson hosted the Holocaust denier and avowed antisemite Nick Fuentes on his podcast.

An Orthodox Jew and avowed supporter of Israel, the conservative pundit has been mounting a public effort to repudiate antisemitism and similarly aligned forces within his own party. His campaign comes as the GOP’s younger flank have become increasingly disillusioned with American support for Israel in the aftermath of its war in Gaza.

The reason it’s Not Going Well is that “The Right” doesn’t have the same dog in this fight that Ben Shapiro and the Jewish Telegraph Agency do.

I understand that Jews in general are very sensitive to sniffs of antisemitism because they’ve been on the receiving end of genocidal expressions of the same, but that doesn’t justify going all Hunt for Heretics and Sinners on people who have different points of view that, quite frankly, don’t actually comprise meaningful antisemitism.

This is the same sort of CrimeThink expedition in which the Left has been engaged for the last fifty years; it doesn’t look any better when worn by pro-Israel people, and actually hurts the cause they nominally support by providing fodder for the real antisemites who are watching from the sidelines rubbing their hands with glee.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D–N.Y.) celebrated that “deplatforming works,” though she worried about the long-term implications.

“I also kind of feel like I’m waiting for the cut scene at the end of a Marvel movie after all the credits have rolled, and then you like see the villain’s hand reemerge,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

As it turns out, every major star gets a sequel. Trump is back in the White House, and Carlson has a bigger audience than ever before.

What we’ve learned is that deplatforming doesn’t work.

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has reportedly suffered another setback as his gun licence has been revoked. It’s understood that the former prince agreed to surrender the certificate following a visit from the police to his Royal Lodge residence in Windsor.

The activist group StopAntisemitism has awarded the conservative personality Tucker Carlson its ignominious honor of “Antisemite of the Year,” citing his frequent invocation of classic antisemitic stereotypes.

The announcement comes as Carlson sits at the center of controversy on the American right about whether extremists should be welcomed in the Republican Party. It also marks the second year in a row that StopAntisemitism has selected a right-wing figure for its accolade, after years of awarding the mantle to mostly left-wing figures.

“Carlson mainstreams antisemitism by platforming and praising Holocaust revisionists and Nazi apologists, while hiding behind irony and plausible deniability,” the group said in a statement. “By legitimizing extremist voices and weaponizing conspiratorial imagery at massive scale, he has helped drag antisemitic ideas back into the mainstream.”

This is obvious nonsense, surpassed perhaps only by the urge by every Woke Karen on the Left to find racism under every bush. No matter what kind of nutjob Candace Owens has turned into, Tucker Carlson is just doing what he thinks as his job as a journalist, and the CrimeThink inquisitors on both the Left and Right just can’t tolerate any dissent.

Any selection of an Antisemite of the Year that doesn’t name the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah, or perhaps somebody from CAIR,  is infantile.

There are moments in public life when you read something and genuinely wonder if someone is having you on.

The briefing on the supposed rise of far Right activity by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), the leading teachers’ union in Scotland, is one of those moments.

Scotland’s far Right is so tiny it could hold its AGM in the disabled toilet at Wetherspoons and still have room left for a flipchart. Yet here is the country’s largest and most influential union producing a 16-page political field manual that treats this microscopic fringe as if it is marching on Holyrood with flaming torches and matching armbands.

None of this resembles safeguarding. It is not professionalism. It is certainly not education. It is politics in fancy dress, and it insults the intelligence of teachers, parents and pupils alike.

Over the past year, a new ideological framework, which I’ll call neo-decolonialism, has been taking hold in activist, academic, and political discourse. This framework has the potential to reopen and reinflame a vast number of conflicts. This is where slogans like “globalise the intifada” ultimately lead—to a world in which no political settlement is ever final, and no peace is durable.

It’s important to make a clear distinction between actual decolonisation and what I am calling neo-decolonialism. Real decolonisation was a concrete, historically specific process in which empires withdrew from territories they had been administering, as exemplified by the end of the Raj. These withdrawals changed legal and political realities on the ground: e.g. British colonial governance in India ended, and two new sovereign states, India and Pakistan, emerged.

This is not to say that the end of empire erased the effects of colonialism. Political borders, legal systems, and economic structures often outlived the formal withdrawal, and many societies still live with deep, measurable legacies of colonialism. It is one thing to argue for civil rights, equal representation, or institutional reform within an existing civic order.

But neo-decolonialism is not about dismantling real empires—even though some empires still exist today, such as the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Instead, it retroactively reclassifies political arrangements as “colonial” based on contemporary group dynamics, racial or ethnic categories (e.g. “whiteness”), and the question of which side has the most power.

For years UK officials turned a blind eye to rape gangs because it might look racist to crack down on foreigners. Now, suddenly, the real problem is young boys who are ‘radicalized’ into becoming misogynists. The only solution is of course Orwellian; and includes an agenda to reeducate British boys showing “signs of misogyny” (anti-wokeness).

According to the BBC, teachers will be given training to spot and “tackle” misogyny in the classroom, while high-risk pupils could be sent on behavior courses as part of the government’s strategy to halve violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The goal is to ‘prevent the radicalization of young men’ by addressing misogyny early in order to prevent escalation into violence. Safeguarding minister Jess Phillips called violence against women and girls a “national emergency,” adding that the government’s goal is to be “so ambitious that we change culture.”

This sounds like the system used in the old Soviet Union to ensure socialist loyalty among the proletariat.

The fact is that both misogyny and Islamophobia are entirely justified in these degenerate modern times.

The Southern Poverty Law Center was deeply involved in setting federal policy during the Biden administration, as well as law enforcement and even school policies across the country, despite labeling mainstream right-of-center organizations as “hate groups,” experts told a House panel Tuesday.

The SPLC previously claimed it was not anti-Christian, citing how it did not label Focus on the Family on its “hate map.” However, earlier this year, the group did add Focus on the Family to the list–and removed the defense of being anti-Christian from the website, said Tyler O’Neil, senior editor of The Daily Signal and author of “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

The “hate map,” is intended to chill speech, O’Neil told the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government on Tuesday.

“This contributes to the hostile climate in which conservatives keep their mouths shut in order to avoid being accused of racism, Islamophobia, or hate,” O’Neil said. “It is no accident that activists use this hate map to deplatform conservatives, or that activist groups have tried to pressure donor advised funds to blacklist the SPLC’s targets.”

A left-wing protest against “police rule” in the small town of Schwarzenberg quickly turned violent on Saturday, December 13th.

Hundreds of demonstrators, including Antifa activists from major cities such as Dresden and Leipzig, travelled to the town (pop. around 15,000) to protest against what they described as “state repression and right-wing forces.”

Police broke off routine Advent season duties and were forced to halt the march several times, after smoke bombs and other pyrotechnic devices were set off and bottles were thrown at officers—despite an official ban on such items.

A right-wing group known as “Freie Sachsen” also appeared at the scene, accusing left-wing protesters of attempting to break into a nearby Christmas market—an allegation an Antifa spokesperson dismissed as “right-wing incitement.” Several people were arrested during the clashes, and police reported injuries on both sides.

The events in Schwarzenberg echo other recent violent protests in Germany, where tensions between police, political activists, and local residents have escalated into confrontations.

Left-wing Canadian lawmakers are working to introduce a new bill that would end existing protections for people of faith against prosecution under national “hate speech” laws.

Canada’s Criminal Code, which bans what the government deems “hatred against any identifiable group,” contains a so-called religious exemption that protects Canadians who “in good faith” cite religious texts or beliefs. But the left-wing Liberal and Bloc Québécois parties are currently negotiating new legislation, Bill C-9, with an amendment that would remove this exemption.

The bill’s sponsors say it is necessary to combat hate crimes, but conservatives warn that it could be used to suppress Canadians’ most basic civil rights.

Conservative political commentator and podcaster Tim Pool said nobody was hurt despite his West Virginia home being fired upon late Friday night.

Pool, who has a large online following, said Saturday on X that a vehicle approached his property and “opened fire.”

He added that no one was injured and that his security team is reviewing what happened and will forward a report to law enforcement.

An a cappella group at Kent State University is being accused of allegedly restricting certain solo parts to “people of color,” and later disciplining a student member after he questioned whether the race-based policy conflicted with university non-discrimination rules.

According to emails obtained by Campus Reform, the emails detail how the group, Vocal Intensity A Cappella, limited certain solos to nonwhite students, with group leadership asserting that white students performing those parts would amount to “cultural appropriation.”

The board later reaffirmed its stance, according to the report, stating the solos would remain restricted to Black students unless overturned by a vote.

Home Depot pushed back after an activist coalition called for a nationwide boycott over alleged cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

The group We Ain’t Buying It has accused the home improvement retailer of “allowing and colluding with ICE to kidnap our neighbors” — a charge Home Depot flatly denies.

In an email to Newsweek, a company spokesperson said, “We aren’t coordinating with ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] or Border Patrol.”

Derek Chauvin’s defense attorneys have filed a new petition that challenges the 2021 murder conviction that sent Chauvin to prison over George Floyd’s death. The petition includes over 50 former and current MPD officers who made sworn declarations that the technique Chauvin used to restrain George Floyd was part of the official training they received.

The 71-page petition was sent to Hennepin County District Court, where Attorney Greg Joseph stated that “this case simply never made sense.” The petition asserts that the case involves two key issues: intent and causation. Did the restraint of Floyd follow policies and procedures of the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD); and, did the restraint cause Floyd’s death
