CNN Grumbles: UK Citizens Turn Tables on Pro-Migration Propaganda with AI-Created ‘Amelia’

4th February 2026

Newsbusters.

An interesting story from the United Kingdom is filling left-wing journalists with horror: Amelia. She’s an Artificial Intelligence creation that has escaped its left-wing government master and been rebadged as a heroine to the anti-mass migrant movement online.

The U.K. is suffering societal backlash and financial pressure due to mass immigration from cultures with little respect for women, yet the Labour Party government is obsessed with patrolling social media to inhibit “far-right” discussion of the migrant problem.

U.K. conservatives have turned the tables, taking an animated character, “Amelia,” the purported purple-haired antagonist of a government-issued left-wing game aimed at U.K. teens, and coding her favorably, not as a font of hate and disinformation, but as a pro-British patriotic meme.

The intent of the “game” — to warn British teenagers that taking anti-migrant stands may lead to police intervention — has backfired, with UK residents opposed to mass immigration adopting Amelia as their own mascot.

Free Beacon Exposes FAKE Hate Crime Peddled by Liberal Media

4th February 2026

Newsbusters.

Free Beacon writer and 2023 MRC Bulldog Award winner Andrew Kerr unleashed a massive investigation on Monday morning, telling readers that a 2021 hate crime trumpeted by a who’s who of the liberal media — where a black teen in Plano, Texas named SeMarion Humphrey was pelted with BB gun bullets and forced to drink urine at a sleepover by white kids — was fake.

Not only did Kerr report the story was deemed fake, a Texas jury found it so in a court of law on January 22 and ordered the boy’s mother Summer Smith and attorney Kim Cole “to pay $3.2 million in damages to” the boy Humphrey claimed to have been the ringleader.

The World Is More Equal Than You Think

4th February 2026

The Economist, a Voice of the Crust.

At first glance the global economy looks more uneven than ever: billionaires’ fortunes keep breaking records, asset prices have soared and voters across rich countries insist that life is getting harder and more expensive. Yet in the 21st century the world economy has kept getting more equal.

Technology will do that. Of course, the Narrative Media are heavily invested in complaining about ‘inequality’, whether in ‘incomes’ or ‘wealth’ or whatever they think you have more of than you ought; it is beneath their notice that ‘poor people’ have access to resources that John D. Rockefeller would have given half his net worth to have.

Ultra-Processed Foods Should Be Treated More Like Cigarettes Than Food – Study

4th February 2026

The Guardian, a Voice of the Crust.

Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have more in common with cigarettes than with fruit or vegetables, and require far tighter regulation, according to a new report.

‘More in common with’ means ‘just as noxious to us’ in Karen-speak. Nobody eats tobacco (except inadvertently), of course, just as no one smokes fruits or vegetables, but the nanny-state totalitarians must have some way to Indicate Their Displeasure with people who follow their own judgment and make their own choices rather than being guided and controlled by the preferences of the Enlightened.

UPFs and cigarettes are engineered to encourage addiction and consumption, researchers from three US universities said, pointing to the parallels in widespread health harms that link both.

The cited author is, of course, female, so the role of Karen in this fable is a good fit. The Narrative Media is never more at home than when telling other people what they ought to do, preferably by government mandate.

Americans Are Watching Two Different Movies as Media Bias Goes Digital

3rd February 2026

Newsbusters.

Media bias isn’t just on TVs or in newspapers anymore. Now, it’s woven into digital devices, and it’s worse than you think.

MRC President David Bozell highlighted the issue in an interview with Laura Trump, host of the Right View Podcast, on Thursday, describing how it feels like Americans are “watching two different movies,” resulting in completely opposing realities.

The dichotomy between the left’s perception of America and the right’s perception of America is wider than ever. So what’s causing this divide? It’s no shock—from the Media Research Center’s perspective—that the elitist media plays an outsized role in shaping how Americans view the world.

STUDY: Broadcast Networks Are Hiding Lemon’s Grand Jury Indictment from t\their Audiences

3rd February 2026

Newsbusters.

When a grand jury on January 29 indicted former CNN host Don Lemon for allegedly participating in the disruption of a Minneapolis-area church service, the corporate media responded with unanimous outrage. But for all of their handwringing, not a single journalist has acknowledged even once on any of the big three broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) that Lemon’s arrest was, in fact, the result of a grand jury indictment.

MRC analysts examined all coverage of Lemon’s arrest on the big three broadcast networks’ flagship morning (Good Morning America, CBS Mornings, and Today) and evening shows (ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News), from the morning of January 30 through the morning of February 3, 2026. Across the seven different reports about the incident, totaling just over 14 minutes, not once was it mentioned that Lemon’s arrest was not a reckless act by an out of control Justice Department, but rather the result of a grand jury indictment.

All three networks covered the event once on their evening newscasts on January 30, and a second time the following morning — for a total of 163 (ABC), 351 (CBS), and 334 seconds of coverage, respectively. CBS Mornings also ran a report just hours after the arrest on January 30.

PBS Promotes Race-Obsessed Sportswriter and Lionizes a Stalinist Toady

3rd February 2026

Newsbusters.

One way “public” broadcasters demonstrate their dramatic leftist bias is by which books and authors they promote. On January 27, they featured an interview by co-anchor Geoff Bennett of Howard Bryant — former ESPN The Magazine columnist, and perpetual racial grievance machine — lionizing the famous black Stalinist puppet and actor Paul Robeson.

Bennett talked to Bryant about his new book, Kings and Pawns: Jackie Robinson and Paul Robeson in America. That’s a heroic athlete and a villainous communist. But not in the minds of the PBS elite.

Progressive Moral Reasoning and Iran’s Revolt

3rd February 2026

Quillette.

The Iranian revolt of 2026 has exposed a profound flaw in Western progressive thinking. While people in Tehran and Mashhad and dozens of other Iranian cities risk their lives in the name of secular nationalism and constitutional law, progressive activists in the West seem to have nothing to say. If a movement isn’t checking the usual boxes of Western identity politics, they tend to view it as confusing, suspicious, or even reactionary.

Consequently, the Iranian people are showing us, mostly by accident, just how narrow the Western moral imagination has become. Many observers have attempted to interpret the uprising through familiar human-rights and liberationist frameworks, recasting it as another episode of identity-based politics. Others, finding no comfortable place for themselves within it, have chosen silence instead. The result has been a striking absence of sustained global attention.

This is the most pernicious effect of the Narrative Media. Sure, there are other sources of ‘news’, but the Narrative Media, by what they cover, tend heavily to influence what people think they know and especially what they think and talk about.

CNN’s Abby Phillip Corrected After Giving False Information on Charge Against Don Lemon

1st February 2026

Newsbusters.

When it comes to the arrest and charges against former CNN Host Don Lemon, for his role in the invasion of a Church in St. Paul, Minnesota last month, it appears that some in the liberal media are not only willing to support his claims that he was there as a “journalist”, but they are willing to leave out some important information during their reporting. As pointed out by our colleague Alex Christy, ABC and CBS are guilty of doing it, and they are not alone.

Friday night on CNN’s NewsNight With Abby Phillip, the host incorrectly claimed that Lemon was not named in a part of the indictment where he was in fact included, and she wound up being corrected by panelist and New York Post correspondent Lydia Moynihan. Phillip opened the show by claiming, “Freedom of the press is under siege after the arrests of Independent Journalists, former CNN anchor Don Lemon and Georgia Fort for their coverage of an anti-ICE protest that erupted and interrupted a Church service in St. Paul, Minnesota.”

Phillip soon played part of Lemon’s interview with Pastor David Easterwood, who described what was happening as, “unacceptable and shameful,” and at one point said he needed to go and “take care of my flock.” But Lemon continued and eventually accused the pastor of “pushing” him, although it does not appear that way on the video. Phillip then read from the indictment.

ABC and CBS Ignore Lemon Being Asked to Leave by Church’s Pastor

1st February 2026

Read it.

When it comes to the case against former CNN host Don Lemon’s alleged role in a recent takeover of a St. Paul church, the two most serious allegations against him are probably those that state he did not leave when the pastor asked him to and that he obstructed congregants as they tried to leave. However, neither ABC’s nor CBS’s Friday evening or Saturday morning news broadcasts reported on those details. While NBC mentioned the part about Lemon being asked to leave, it joined the other two in not explicitly mentioning the obstruction allegation, even if it showed footage of Lemon by the door.

CBS reporter Matt Gutman was the most vocal against Lemon’s arrest on Evening News, declaring, “Tonight, Don Lemon defiantly addressing reporters after being indicted on that federal civil rights charge.”

After showing video of Lemon at a press conference and from the day of the alleged crime, Gutman didn’t see what the big deal was, “Don Lemon says this act of conventional journalism has landed him in federal court.”

Gutman then profiled co-defendant Georgia Fort, calling her a “Minnesota journalist,” but ignoring her role with the NAACP before playing some clips from Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Trump.

The Elitist Media Still Impose a Dominant Partisan Narrative

1st February 2026

The Foundry.

Conservatives could look at today’s incredibly fractured media environment and wonder why anyone would need to worry about the elite media, considering their trust numbers are in the basement (except among liberals) and their audiences keep eroding.

But just breathe the media air any day, and what we used to call the “dominant media” still dominates in setting the political agenda—in determining what everyone talks about. There was an old maxim that the media can’t tell you what to think, but they’ll tell you what to think about.

This again came to mind when MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace interviewed Oliver Darcy, whose current business is energetically trying to reinforce the ideological rigor of the leftist press. Wallace told Darcy, “I still think that story selection is the most power we have, what you decide to shine a light on, especially now in the second Trump term.”

Right now, that dominant story is the allegedly heroic resistance in Minneapolis to federal attempts to enforce the immigration laws. The daily narrative is that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are murdering innocent protesters in the streets. It’s not just choosing the subject. It’s the tone and tenor of the coverage. When it’s 93% negative against ICE on the evening newscasts, it’s a combination of time and tone intended to transform public opinion.

Never Let Leftists Say They Are the First Amendment Stalwart

31st January 2026

The Foundry.

The leftist media cabal constantly imagines itself as the grand embodiment of democracy and freedom of speech, even as it seeks to put Republicans in jail and hopes to censor them from speaking on social media. It doesn’t live up to its First Amendment boasting.

For example, there’s “CNN International” host Christiane Amanpour, whose leftist ravings are also broadcast on PBS stations. On Jan. 23, Amanpour led off her show with this attack on President Donald Trump: “He says he’s bringing free speech back to America, but one year into Trump 2.0, few presidents have done as much to degrade civil liberties and muzzle the free press. Former Washington Post Executive Editor Marty Baron joins me to discuss how American journalism can survive.”

Oh, the overwrought ardor! How will journalism survive as they seek to destroy Trump 24/7? Any pushback on their destruction campaign will be painted as an attack on freedom of the press.

I’m sure you’ve seen hand-wringing articles in the Narrative Media about the so-called “doomsday clock”, one of the most Useful-Idiot scams of the Cold War.

It’s the opening session of the three-day 2025 Nobel Laureate Assembly for the Prevention of Nuclear War. The gathering is convened by scientists and nuclear security experts alarmed that a new arms race, eroding global cooperation, and the rise of artificial intelligence in warfare—among other factors—are pushing civilization closer to catastrophe. Timed to the 80th anniversary of the Trinity Test, the world’s first nuclear explosion, the assembly aims to produce a declaration urging world leaders to reduce the nuclear threat.

The same urgency drives the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists and its iconic Doomsday Clock, the stark graphic that represents how close we are to self-annihilation. The clock is set yearly by the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board chaired by Daniel Holz, PhD, a theoretical astrophysicist at the University of Chicago.

In January, six months before the Nobel Assembly, Holz stood at a lectern at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., to announce the time. “It is now 89 seconds to midnight,” he said, as four solemn presenters swiveled a turntable to reveal a pared-down quarter clockface, a white wedge rimmed by black dots for numbers, the hands angled so sharply they overlapped. It was the closest to midnight since the clock’s inception in 1947.

BBC News Is Out of Step With UK Society, Britons Say

28th January 2026

The Times (UK).

Seven in ten Britons think BBC News needs to change to meet the requirements of society, according to the findings of a landmark government study.

The Value of BBC News survey, commissioned by the culture secretary Lisa Nandy, found the majority of adults were satisfied with the broadcaster’s news coverage. Almost three quarters of respondents found it valuable personally and to the nation.

But while almost a quarter of the 3,325 people polled believed the BBC met society’s needs extremely well, a majority felt changes were required.

The results emerged as Nandy commissioned the first research in a decade into public attitudes towards the BBC as a whole. Both studies will influence the way in which the government approaches crucial negotiations with the BBC for its new charter in January 2028.

How is this a surprise?

The Worst People in the World

27th January 2026

The Other McCain.

You think you hate the liberal media enough, but you don’t — and that’s probably a good thing. It would be psychologically unhealthy to hate anyone as much as the liberal media deserve to be hated.

Heather Schwedel is a writer for Slate, which was one of the pioneering political commentary sites back in the dial-up modem days of the 1990s. If you’re old enough to remember when AOL discs came in a box of cereal — seriously, that actually happened for a few months in 1996 — you may remember when Microsoft hired Michael Kinsley (former New Republic editor and then co-host of CNN’s Crossfire) to be editor of Slate.

That was 30 years ago. In 2004, the Washington Post purchased Slate, but when Jeff Bezos bought the Post in 2013, he had no use for Slate, which is now property of a separate firm, Graham Holdings. This trek down memory lane doesn’t do much to explain why Heather Schwedel is on Slate’s payroll, but it does give you some sense of the downward trajectory of Slate’s prestige. The latest milestone on this descent into infamy is Schwedel’s article with this headline, “Well, That Is One Way for J.D. and Usha Vance to Respond to the Erika Kirk Divorce Rumors.”

The Shit-Losers: Amanda Marcotte, Jennifer Rubin, Will Bunch, Greg Sargent, Philip Bump. Their entire job is thinking up new names to call Trump. That’s all they do. Report on the news? Sorry, ain’t nobody got time for dat.

What the Left Doesn’t Want You to Know About Alex Pretti, the Man That Border Patrol Shot

26th January 2026

Read it.

Mainstream media outlets rushed to paint Alex Pretti as a blameless ICU nurse gunned down by heartless Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis on Saturday. They highlighted his work caring for veterans and seized on video snippets showing him holding a phone. The New York Times ran with that angle, running the headline “Man Killed by Federal Agents in Minneapolis Was Holding a Phone, Not a Gun,” and claimed that footage captured Pretti only with his phone in hand, insisting that agents had no reason to believe he was armed during their encounter.

Media outlets are also quick to point out that Pretti held a valid Minnesota concealed carry permit and legally owned the gun, as if that absolved him for his actions against the Border Patrol agents.

Others point out that he had no criminal record, just traffic tickets.

This, they argue, proves he was an innocent victim, not an agitator.

But what the mainstream media isn’t telling you is that Pretti wasn’t just some random bystander.

According to Jeanne Massey, a neighbor, Pretti was part of a “Signal ICE” group chat of volunteers who organized a sophisticated operation to track ICE activity in real time and alert each other when agents were in the area.

These folks patrol streets, blow whistles, alert residents, and film operations to disrupt arrests.

That puts him not on the sidelines but plugged into the very network that coordinated responses to federal enforcement operations.

Mother Jones profiled the group just last week.

This Is PBS: Renee Good ‘Killed,’ Murdered National Guard Member Merely Shot

24th January 2026

Newsbusters.

Intentionally or not, the PBS News Hour exhibited a liberal double standard in descriptions in a story by Liz Landers from Minneapolis, where residents are apparently being persecuted under ICE.

A long 13-minute Thursday segment, which was capped with two guests, one from the Trump administration and one from the Obama administration, twice underlined that anti-ICE protester Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, but the November murder of another federal law officer in Washington, D.C. was downgraded to a mere “shooting.”

The story did lead with a strong statement from Vice President J.D. Vance from on the ground in Minneapolis.

Deportation Law

24th January 2026

The New Neo.

You may have noticed that many people criticize the deportations by saying that overstaying a visa isn’t a criminal act but is a civil offense. They’re right that it’s not criminal – although many of those being rounded up are also guilty of crimes. But let’s just stick with overstaying a visa. The fact that it’s a civil offense does not protect the alien; in fact, it removes the protection afforded to defendants in criminal cases. Nor are those people who’ve overstayed visas (or otherwise entered illegally, but are not criminals) being given prison sentences, as in the criminal system. They are being deported, which is a civil action.

You will no doubt have seen headlines in the Narrative Media about illegal immigrants being deported who ‘have no crimila record’. Whether or not they have a criminal record is irrelevant. They are here illegally, and are subject to deportation when caught.

The government does not need to prove you committed a crime to remove you; it only needs to prove you are removable under immigration law.

Exactly so.

Politico Absurdly Skips Extreme Anti-Trump Political Bias of Firm Conducting Focus Group

24th January 2026

Newsbusters.

Politico, leaning entirely on the results of a focus group consisting of nine (count ’em, NINE) people has been able to somehow determine what they see as a big political trend out there reflected in the title of this story on Friday by Samuel Benson, “These Gen-Z Trump voters don’t want JD Vance in 2028.”

The subtitle reinforces what looks to be a dire (as projected by Politico based on the focus group NINE) political future for Vance: “A recent focus group of 18- to 24-year-old Trump voters suggests weaknesses for Vance among young Republicans.”

CNN Boosts Story of ‘Disabled’ Woman Arrested by ICE, She’s a ‘Social Justice’ Activist

21st January 2026

Newsbusters.

On Tuesday’s Inside Politics, CNN attempt to give credence to a story that an unfortunate “disabled” woman was accosted and arrested by ICE for supposedly no reason while trying get to a doctor’s appointment. But a simple search of the woman’s name, Aliya Rahman, turns up a treasure trove proving that she had a long history as a professional liberal activist working with far-left organizations that promote “racial,” “criminal,” and “social justice.” With part of her focus being against law enforcement.

“We’re hearing for the first time from Aliya Rahman, the woman ICE officers dragged from her vehicle while she shouted that she was disabled and trying to get to her doctor’s office,” announced host Dana Bash.

What followed up was a soundbite of Rahman claiming that even someone without her cognitive processing problems would have an issue understanding the ICE agent’s order to move her car out of their way.

Piers Morgan, 60, shared a picture to his social media from his hospital bed and told fans that he had fractured his femur so badly, he required a hip replacement.

The former Good Morning Britain host explained he had tripped while at a restaurant and would have to use crutches to aid his mobility for several weeks. He’s also not allowed to take long-haul flights for the next three months and in a rather unexpected twist, placed the blame on his long-term friend, President Donald Trump.

German Media Report That Current Frigid Weather Can Be Explained by Arctic Warming!

12th January 2026

Read it.

Germany’s online Frankfurter Rundschau (FR) just published an article titled: “Why the cold winter is no evidence against warming.”

The article explains why severe winters in Germany do not contradict global warming. The core argument lies in the distinction between weather (short-term events) and climate (long-term trends). That of course gets ignored by the media when there’s a hot summer day.

Experts, the FR reports, emphasize that a single cold winter is merely a statistical fluctuation, while the global trend points upward. “Weather is what you see outside; climate is the statistics over a long period of time,” the FR reports. “A cold winter does nothing to change the long-term warming trend.”

Apple News Reaches New Milestone, Suppressing Right-Leaning Outlets to Close Out 2025

9th January 2026

Newsbusters.

Apple News failed to link to a single right-leaning media outlet among its top 20 daily articles during the month of December. Out of the 620 opportunities analyzed at approximately 10:00 a.m. each day by the Media Research Center, Apple News whiffed every single time.

Instead, dozens of times Apple News published articles from leftist outlets like The Washington Post, NBC News and NPR and center outlets like Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and the BBC.

You have to go all the way back to Nov. 5 of last year to find the last time Apple News deigned to link to a single right-leaning site. That story was from British outlet The Telegraph covering the atrocities taking place in Sudan: “In Sudan’s genocide, Only Those Who Pay Survive.” Ironically, Apple hid the article behind the Apple News+ paywall and only paid subscribers could read the full article.

NPR Anchor Inskeep: Much Evidence of Our Liberal Bias Is ‘Imaginary’

6th January 2026

Newsbusters.

As you should expect, NPR Morning Edition anchor Steve Inskeep is a cheerleader for his “news” network. On his Substack page came a titled “Public radio may be stronger in 2026.”

Inskeep objected to a recent puff piece on NPR’s CEO by Benjamin Mullin in The New York Times, as it discussed the “terrible blow” of losing taxpayer funding, the system is “far weaker overall.” Inskeep argued his visits to local stations didn’t match that verdict, and insisted that internal ratings reports suggested his show was up a million listeners last spring. But the part about NPR’s bias was ludicrous:

All you need to do is look at what they cover and what they ignore. The bias is obvious.

Does the Supreme Court Favor the Rich?

6th January 2026

Eugene Volokh.

Today’s New York Times reports on a new study by three economists purporting to show that the Supreme Court’s decisions are increasingly tilted toward the interests of the rich, and suggesting that this may play a role in rising economic inequality.

The study, “Ruling for the Rich: The Supreme Court Over Time,” by Andrea Prat, Fiona Scott Morton, and Jacob Spitz, was posted as an NBER working paper, and has not yet been peer-reviewed or (to my knowledge) accepted anywhere for publication. But that did not stop it from getting a the full-article treatment in the NYT.

Having looked at the study, I don’t think it does much of anything to reliably substantiate its claims. It is both conceptually muddled and poorly executed. At most it shows that (surprise!) Republican Supreme Court nominees have become more conservative over time (a point I made to the Times), but that is hardly a revelation.

Of course, to the New York Times (and other Voices of the Crust), anything that ‘favors the rich’, whether deserved or not, whether benefitting the country or not, is to be deplored.
