A Historic Number of Electors Defected, and Most Were Supposed to Vote for Clinton

20th December 2016

Read it.

In Washington, a state where Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont had strong support in the Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton, three of the state’s 12 electoral votes went to Colin L. Powell, the Republican former secretary of state. One more elector voted for Faith Spotted Eagle, a Native American leader. Another Democratic elector in Hawaii voted for Mr. Sanders.

Two Texas electors voted for different Republican politicians: Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and former Texas congressman Ron Paul.

In addition, three Democratic electors, in Colorado, Maine and Minnesota, initially declined to vote for Mrs. Clinton. Two were replaced by an alternate, and one ended up changing his vote.

Hippie Walks Across America Barefoot To Protest Globalchange Climatewarming

7th December 2016

Read it.

It can’t be that this is a mass delusion, Mark. It’s not that you’re being conned by people with a political and financial interest in manipulating your emotions. This really is the most important crisis of our time. It really is just like World War II. And you’re proving them right by walking across the country. Barefoot. It all makes sense.

Must be nice to have nothing better to do with your life.

As for how this American hero is financing his months-long journey, he says he “won a poetry fellowship for the state of Rhode Island.” So this story is pretty much perfect.

Glad I don’t live in Rhode Island and see my hard-earned money wasted on drones like this one.

Black Activists Launch Monthly Fee System For Whites To Pay Blacks

5th December 2016

Read it.

I am not making this up.

Liberal black activists have launched a monthly “subscription box” designed for white people to “to not only financially support Black femme freedom fighters, but also complete measurable tasks in the fight against white supremacy.”

The subscription service is called Safety pin box and was launched last week. Wearing a safety pin has recently become a symbol within the liberal community for one to show solidarity with minorities.

The group headed by Leslie Mac and Marissa Jenae Johnson. Johnson is one of the black lives matter protesters who interrupted Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during a speech in Seattle last year.

There are four different types of subscriptions offered by the group. The “e-ally box” is $25 a month and is “an electronic form of solidarity.” It comes with “exclusive ‘calls to action’ when urgent ally services are needed in times of crisis.” Ally is a term used by black lives matter activists to describe white comrades.

Kudos to the smart guys who found a way to monetize White Guilt (and SWPL stupidity).

When it comes time to cull the herd, their customer list will come in handy.

Killer Mike Offers Self-Righteousness for Sale Package

17th November 2016

Read it.

Ever tried to bring attention to an issue close to your heart, but didn’t quite have the star power to do it? Well fret no more because rap supergroup Run the Jewels is here to help.

Through the music website Daylight Curfew, the famed duo of Killer Mike and El-P are offering an exclusive “Self-Righteousness for Sale” package, where for the price of $350,000, the two artists promise to spend six months “pretending to care about whatever you care about.”

This pretending to care will include “eloquent and timely speeches,” a co-authored info packet, a “heartfelt” video about the purchaser’s cause, and travel to a maximum of three events. As if all of this weren’t enough for any cash-laden social justice warrior, Run the Jewels will even compose an original song entitled “WE’VE GOT TO BRING _______ TO AN END” as part of the package.

One of the perennial conundrums of being a Bleeding Heart Liberal is figuring out a way to monetize it. This milestone appears to have been achieved. (Actually, I think that Bill Clinton was the first guy to do this ‘We feel your pain’ but he never got it to scale.)

Hunter Gets Impaled by Elk He Just Killed

9th November 2016

A hunter who shot and killed an elk while on a trip near Oregon’s Maury Mountains has been impaled by the animal’s antlers as he attempted to drag it back to his camp.

Gary Heeter, 69, from Bend, Oregon, was hunting with a group on Saturday morning when he killed the elk.

Mr Heeter attached the elk to his four-wheeler and began driving back to the camp. But when he encountered a steep hillside his vehicle flipped upwards and the hunter was sent backwards onto the animal, becoming impaled in the back, The Oregonian reported.

Fire Chairman Seeks ‘Compromise’ After American Flag Controversy

17th August 2016

Read it.

The chairman of the Arlington Fire District board said he’s reached out to Chief Tory Gallante to discuss the possibility of a compromise about the use of American flags on fire trucks.

American flags were removed from three Arlington Fire District trucks Tuesday, sparking heated discussion on social media and disappointment from union members.

What possible reason could there be to REMOVE American flags from fire trucks? In fargin Poughkeepsie?

Arlington Fire Commissioner Chairman Jim Beretta said the board majority feel the flags are a “liability during normal operations for our people and other motorists,” and that the board had not been consulted before the flags were mounted.

How could American flags be a liability during normal operations for fire trucks in an American city?

Two board members “had no problem with it as long as it was safe and not in the way of operations,” Beretta added. Three board members “did have a problem with it for normal operations, citing liability and distraction to other motorists.”

And if you believe that one, they’ll tell you another one.

Despite Two DC Homes Worth Millions, Dem Sen Hopeful Evan Bayh Insists He Never Left Indiana

16th August 2016

Read it.

Bayh loudly announced in 2010 he would not seek re-election after two terms because of supposed hyper-partisan gridlock due to the “distorting influence of money in politics.”

Almost immediately upon leaving office he reportedly proceeded to help rich folks do the alleged distorting. Within weeks of leaving the Senate, according to the Indianapolis Star, he joined a huge private equity company and quickly became partner at the Washington powerhouse law firm McGuire Woods. He has since amassed “lucrative corporate board appointments” earning “at least $3.7 million in cash, stock awards and other compensation.”

The Woman Who Brought a Legal Complaint Against the “Balcony Man” for Insulting the Munich Shooter

10th August 2016

Read it. And watch the video.

On July 22 a young man named Ali David Sonboly went on a shooting rampage in Munich, murdering eight people before committing suicide. During his peripatetic massacre he was briefly on the roof of a parking garage. While he was there, he was hectored from the balcony of a nearby apartment building by a local Bavarian man. A video of the exchange later went viral. The “balcony man”’s new-found notoriety drew the attention of the authorities, who are now considering prosecuting him for his insults against the culture-enriching shooter, presumably under the law against Volksverhetzung.

Below is a video made by the woman who brought the complaint against the balcony man, explaining and justifying her actions. I’ll let her high-minded rectitude speak for itself, without further commentary.

Academic Abomination of the Week: Time Traveling Dogs?

9th August 2016

Read it.

The time-travel trope of so many science fiction stories are hard enough to take, but what do you get when you cross time-travel with feminist theory?

In this article, I analyze a painting by Modoc/Klamath artist Peggy Ball through a Native feminist reading methodology. The painting, Vanport, is named after a city that disappeared in a flood in 1948. The artist survived that flood, and displacement as did thousands of others. The painting is a rememory map of dislocations and hauntings and disappearances. The painting remaps gentrified dislocations, telling stories that focus on the relationship of the present to the past and the past to the future. The painting itself is a Native feminist practice. The travel to places gone, to places that will reappear again; by people gone as well as by people presently alive; into times that existed, that never existed, that will exist again; to times made contemporaneous by time traveling dogs; with people co-present through desire—at the heart of all this time travel is recognition and survivance.

Hey, tenure doesn’t grow on trees, you know.

UK Man Acquitted of Rape Forced to Give Police 24-Hour Notice Before Sex

6th July 2016

Read it.

A British man acquitted of rape is threatening to go on a hunger strike after police issued an order requiring him to give them 24-hour notice before any sexual encounters.

The 40-year-old man, who legally cannot be named, was given a retrial in 2015 and acquitted of rape. Despite the ruling, police issued a “sexual risk order” against him. Under the order, the man must “disclose the details of any female including her name, address and date of birth… at least 24 hours prior to any sexual activity taking place.”

While it sounds dystopian, sexual risk orders are perfectly legal in England and Wales after the passage of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act of 2014. Under the act, courts need only to find that a person is likely to commit a sexual offense “on the balance of probabilities,” even if they have never been found guilty.

This is what life is like in a country with no Bill of Rights.

Yet more reason to celebrate Independence Day.

Dicaprio Flies His LA Friends 6,000 Miles Around the World So They Can Listen to His Speech on Global Warming

4th July 2016

Read it.

When Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio hosts a reception for a string of A-list stars, supermodels and wealthy philanthropists later this month, he will make an impassioned plea for more action to be taken on global warming.

But instead of holding the event in Los Angeles, where most of his guests are based, they will fly halfway around the world to the glitzy French resort of St Tropez – at enormous cost to the environment.

Last night, green campaigners were quick to criticise 41-year-old DiCaprio, who in February used his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Oscars to warn about the dangers posed by climate change.

Green is for thee but not for me….

One guest who attended last year’s gala said: ‘It’s basically a big party for Leo and his showbusiness friends and models. The models, of course, do not pay for tickets, and neither do the VIP guests – they get to have a nice big free party.’

The Mail on Sunday has learned that guests opting for the Grand Earth Protector Package – ‘prime dinner seating for 12 guests’ at a table near to DiCaprio – costs £125,000. The more frugal Earth Protector Package – seating 12 at a slightly more distant table – costs £82,000, while those content with social Siberia can choose the Ocean Steward Package, at a mere £58,000 for 12 diners.
