‘Boring’ Couple Files Interesting Lawsuit Against Google

You know it had to happen sooner or later.
Problem is, I can’t really blame them. I wouldn’t want somebody putting street-level pictures of my house on the Internet, for sure.

I’d be pissed too if I lived in that crappy a house and the entire world could now see it. The problem is that I don’t see anything actionable in their circumstance. If the road is public, then the drivers working for Google have as much right to be there as anyone else for personal or professional reasons.
Our neighborhood was apparently one of the first to have been put on street view and very fortunately for us it was right after the landscape work had been completed. Having this sort of information online should eventually be tremendously valuable to the individual. I can imagine that people searching for a new place to live might find it extremely useful to be able to view comparable selling prices on Zillow and do a virtual drive through of the neighborhood before investing the time in a physical visit. Not a big deal for across town, but for cross country moves this would be a godsend.
BTW, your neighborhood is about the only one in your zipcode that isn’t in street view.
