The problem with ‘intellectual property’ is that everyone feels comfortable stealing it.
The essence of property is that it is EXCLUSIVE — if person A is using something, then nobody else can. So-called ‘intellectual property’ never has fit that description; no matter how many people have a copy of a book or musical recording, every single one of those people has an unimpaired ability to use it. This makes the whole ‘intellectual property’ scam untenable in the long term, and we’re watching it crumble and disintegrate in realtime.
