Even Blue States Pass Midterm’s Biological-Reality Ballot Measures
5th November 2026
All four midterm ballot measures recognizing the biological differences between males and females appear to have passed Tuesday, as even voters in Blue states chose to protect girls’ and women’s sports.
In the Blue state of Washington, for example, Initiative 638 prohibiting biological males from competing in girls’ sports will be approved by a wide margin, capturing nearly 60% of the vote. It requires students wishing to compete with girls to provide a health care provider’s statement verifying the student’s sex.
Likewise, in solidly Blue Colorado, Proposition 134, a measure requiring student athletes to participate only on those teams designated for their biological sex is on course to pass with about 52% of the vote. Additionally, it requires schools, colleges and athletic associations to designate whether sports teams are male, female or coeducational.
Similar measures banning males from female sports in Nebraska (Initiative 442) and Arizona (Proposition 318) enjoy wide margins of voter support. In both cases, the measures strengthen already-existing protections for female sports.
Consider the state of a nation in which actual legislation is required to keep boys out of girls’ sports.
