Last Monday night there was a little kerfuffle near the German city of Hanover that involved gunshots and running over people with a BMW — just a routine evening in Modern Multicultural Germany. The mainstream media eschewed any mention of cultural enrichment — see, for example, this dpa story via Yahoo News, which only refers to a conflict between “extended families”. Occasionally such battles are described as being between “clans”, but that word, unfortunately, has gradually become synonymous with “Arabs”. So “extended families” will have to do.
