Doctor ‘Bullied Out of Job’ After Raising Concerns About Gender Treatments

Dr Sarah Redvers said she felt “silenced” after she passed on complaints doctors had brought to her about whether another GP was appropriately assessing the needs of young people who were questioning their gender identity.
Dr Redvers claimed that when she had made complaints about Dr Sam Hall, a transgender doctor whose care quality had prompted colleagues to raise concerns, she had been accused of transphobia and harassed out of her job.
Dr Redvers told an employment tribunal hearing that she had been put under investigation after raising issues about the quality of treatment and the prescription of puberty blockers at WellBN clinic in Brighton.
In June, nearly six years after she raised her concerns, a separate NHS investigation found that dozens of children aged 13 and above had been inappropriately prescribed drugs at the clinic, with 78 children having potentially been harmed by being prescribed puberty-blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones without proper checks.
