In 2025, Laura Lee Yourex was arrested for illegally registering her dog to vote and casting a ballot in her dog’s name: twice.
The second time after the dog had died.
Lest you should worry that California had somehow reformed and would attempt to rein in illegal voting like this, you’ll be happy to know Yourex just had all her charges dropped.
Bear in mind, one of those votes was actually counted in the gubernatorial recall election, so this wasn’t a harmless act!
