California Typewriter (with Tom Hanks)

The first thing I bought when I got to college in 1974 was an IBM Selectric typewriter. It cost me $1,000, which was a lot of money in 1974, and it was the best money I ever spent. A typewriter was so much a part of my life that when I went home for the summer, having left the typewriter in storage at school, I bought a little Smith-Corona portable so that I would have one available.
Sometimes the old ways are best.
