DHS Debunks 7 ‘Lies Spread by Mainstream Media’ About Austin Shooting

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a document Monday debunking “lies spread by the mainstream media, far-left activists, and sanctuary politicians regarding the shooting of a criminal illegal alien” by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Austin, Texas.
Wilber Rafael Garces Perez, an illegal alien from Venezuela who entered the U.S. during the Biden Administration, was shot Sunday by an ICE officer who tried to arrest him, prompting a hailstorm of anti-ICE media and accusations, prompting DHS to issue a statement correcting the record.
“Sanctuary politicians and the mainstream media have wasted no time in spreading lies about an ICE officer-involved shooting of an illegal alien in Austin, Texas,” DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in the statement.
