Thousands of Migrants Charge Through Ceuta
19th September 2026
Thousands of migrants charged through the streets of Ceuta on Friday as police attempted to move them to a new camp.
The migrants, the majority of whom had travelled to the Spanish territory from Morocco, had been sleeping rough on beaches for weeks, waiting to be relocated to an official camp in the port area.
The crowds reportedly became impatient when only a few officials arrived to facilitate the move, and began running towards the new camp just before 7am on Friday.
Footage taken from above showed people stampeding along the Ceuta seafront, cheering and shouting as they ran.
