America’s leading practitioner of Democratic Socialism is the current mayor of New York City. He has a theory that little-used, second-homes in the City put an extra strain on municipal resources and must be taxed more to compensate.
Of course that’s nonsense, he just wants to punish “the rich” for the crime of being rich. But the reality of this new tax is not as advertised.

So, around a million or so New Yorkers must prove in less than 30 days that they don’t fall under a tax meant to hit just 10,000 or so. The list of those hit with the new tax include long-time, current, full-year residents, commercial properties, homes worth only a few hundred thousand dollars, etc. Instead of using a rifle bullet, the city has used a nuclear bomb.
