The owner of a stately home used as Wayne Manor in the film Batman Begins has been told he could lose the property unless he conducts bat surveys.
The Grade I-listed Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire has been served a formal listed-building repairs notice after a significant deterioration in the building’s condition.
Simon Halabi, the Syrian-born British investor who was once valued at £3bn and owned stakes in the Shard, bought the mansion in 1999, but it has since fallen into disrepair.
