Why Are Muslim American Politicians Uniformly Democrats?

They both want to destroy Western civilization?
The principles and values of Islam, as far as I can tell, are in total contrast to the values and principles that define today’s Democratic Party.

Internationally known assassin-for-hire and terrorist Carlos the Jackal, a.k.a. Venezuelan born Ilich Ramírez Sánchez (b. 1949), was hunted for years before finally being located by legendary U.S. Special Forces veteran Billy Waugh working in cooperation with French authorities. Arrested, tried and convicted, Sánchez was imprisoned in the 1990s in France. As an inmate, he converted to Islam and took a Muslim woman as his wife (his defense attorney).
Sánchez also authored a book, published in the French language, entitled in English, “Revolutionary Islam.” He also carried on a correspondence with such figures as Osama bin Laden, for whom he expressed admiration. In his tract, the old revolutionary expressed the view that only an alliance between communism and Islam could “bring down the West” and the United States along with it.
Politics, it is said, makes for strange bedfellows. The same is apparently true of geopolitics for at first glance Islam and modern leftism (communism) bear very little in common. The left celebrates all manner of sexual perversion and hedonism, whereas the Muslims throw homosexuals off tall buildings – and so on.
However significant their differences, they are united by something stronger, their shared enmity and hatred of the West and Christianity. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, indeed.
Many leftists in places like America and Europe are already making the profession of faith – saying the shahada – and becoming Muslims. It has become quite fashionable in certain circles. Obviously, they intend to start over, vis a vis what it is they believe. Whether such action does in fact wipe the slate clean is unknown for now – but the trend is real. Those communists who refuse to recant, however, are probably going to learn the hard way that the Muslims don’t fool around when it comes to sharia law.
For the curious, there are GOP betrayers also, people who have gone over to the other side – aligning themselves for Islam and against their civilization of birth. But at the moment, at least in the U.S.A., this phenomenon has been mostly on the left.

Another aspect of why Muslim politicians are always Democrats has to do with the composition of the 21st-century Democrat Party.
Fifty years ago in the 1970s, it was the party of working-class whites, as well as upscale liberals. But starting around that same time, the party and leftist America in general started demonizing white males, in particular working-class white males, as the ultimate cause of every wrong and evil in our society. It took time, but the blue collar folks eventually got the message, and migrated to the GOP in much larger numbers.
The Democrats faced a problem: Their old coalition was breaking down, and they needed a new formula. The new formula was to form a coalition of different racial-ethic and other identity groups based around the shared idea of victimhood at the hands of the evil white man. Feminist women (especially single ones), the LGBTQ+ crowd, blacks, Latinos, atheists, etc. – and Muslims.
Muslims made a natural ally to the New Left since membership was contingent upon hatred of the United States and the West, and also Christianity. These are the very same things Islam is trying to destroy.
Many Democrats of old, men like George McGovern and Hubert Humphrey – may have disagreed with conservatives and the GOP about things like the amount of taxes people should pay or the extent of welfare benefits but they were patriotic Americans and many were Christians. That party does not exist any longer. The “True Believers” who now comprise the New Left hate the U.S. & the West and Christianity with a white hot intensity that could melt steel. Many hide this hatred well-enough to appear normal in mixed circles, but it is still there.
The coalition of identity & grievance groups that forms the New Left makes a perfect growth medium in which Islam can flourish and it has done so.
And the Sunni Arab oil kingdoms have been very skilled at using their immense oil wealth to buy influence on both sides of the aisle.
