If This Is Real, We Are Cooked…

Footage circulating purporting to be from the North African desert shows what looks like an enormous column of sub-Saharan African men moving under escort.
Some estimates put the number at a hundred thousand. Commentators claim Algerian military vehicles and personnel are shepherding them toward the coast.
If the scale and direction prove accurate, Europe faces another deliberate pressure wave on top of the chaos already unfolding in Ceuta.

If the Algerian government is involved in this operation, if it is facilitating it – then such should be regarded as an act of war by Spain. There is a vast difference between a few boats and other small watercraft carrying “migrants” and a group of 100,000 of them. The former is a nuisance, whereas the latter is an invasion force.
If Spain means to keep its island possessions off of N. Africa, then it must be prepared to defend them with force, if it comes to that. The same goes for the Spanish mainland.
The interlopers, who are largely military-age males, should be given every opportunity to turn around and return home – but if they reject such requests more than once or twice, then more-draconian measures should be used. Tear gas, water cannon, etc. – non-lethal measures. But if those fail, then border guards ought to be issued with live ammunition and automatic weapons, and cleared to open fire if necessary.
Moreover, Spanish officials should harden their territory via the use of walls and other physical barriers, razor wire, electronic sensors, and if push comes to shove, mine fields and armed drones. Heavily-armed soldiers with dogs should patrol the boundary lines also, or their water-borne equivalents, as needed.
A few would-be trespassers will probably lose their lives, which is regrettable – but the rest will learn that “No Trespassing” really does mean “No Trespassing”….
Under international law, a nation is well within its rights to use such measures to protect itself again invaders…
