What the Arday Case Signifies

It signifies that the ruling clerisy is composed of idiots.
By now you probably know that Cambridge professor Jason Arday has quit his position without acknowledging guilt. The final straw was apparently that he had claimed to have written a book that doesn’t exist. He blames his decision to resign on harassment by the people who uncovered his lies.
It’s really an extraordinary letter, under the circumstances – the circumstances being that Arday was caught in an enormous number of lies, and with having issued other statements about his history that were so suspicious as to probably be lies. And yet he claims both integrity and victimhood, even as he leaves the fray.
