Police Released Afghan Migrant Hours Before He Stabbed Dog Walker

Police failed to arrest a violent Afghan national hours before he fatally stabbed a dog walker despite being told he posed a danger to the public, The Telegraph can reveal.
Dawood Safi, 28, carried out a triple stabbing in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge on Oct 27 which resulted in the death of Wayne Broadhurst, 49.
Two other people, 45-year-old Shazhad Farrukh, Safi’s landlord, and a 14-year-old boy were injured in the attack.
At the Old Bailey last week, Safi, who entered the country illegally in the back of a lorry in 2020, was found guilty of the attempted murder of Mr Farrukh.
He had previously pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Broadhurst through diminished responsibility.
