Green Party Targets Gorton & Denton Voters With Leaflets in Urdu
26th February 2026
Parked outside Longsight Market, a big-screen-topped van shows scenes of humanitarian aid being delivered to Gaza. Trestle tables filled with badges and pamphlets on ending “British support for Zionism” crowd the pavements.
This is one of the most ethnically diverse parts of Manchester. According to census data, more than half of Longsight residents are Muslim. It holds the city’s lowest percentage of white residents — 23 per cent — and the highest number of residents who do not speak English — some 371 people.
To target these voters, who form part of the Gorton & Denton constituency heading to the polls on Thursday, the Green Party has been producing material in languages including Urdu and Bengali, which calls on residents to “punish” Labour over Gaza.
Britain under Labour is what Democrats are attempting to create in America.
