Has the West Given Up Protecting Its Citizens?
4th January 2026
Survey says: Yes.
The fundamental deal was that citizens gave the state a monopoly on violence and punishment, in exchange for the state keeping them safe. But is that deal still holding?
In Charlotte, North Carolina, in August, Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death on a train by a fare-jumper who was out on bail after countless prior arrests. Her killer was walking free because a local judge didn’t think his obvious mental illness and violent past merited prison. And transit authorities, like many across America, didn’t enforce the requirement to buy a ticket.
In Chicago in November, another young woman, Bethany MaGee, was set on fire on public transport by another recidivist. In December, an illegal immigrant who had previously been deported allegedly stabbed a man on the same light rail line where Zarutska was murdered.
These are just three of so many tragic, preventable instances where the state failed its part of the bargain. It failed to keep dangerous, unstable people in jail or institutionalized. To enforce basic civility like having to buy a ticket to access buses and trains. To keep out dangerous foreign nationals who have no right to be here.

Re: “The fundamental deal was that citizens gave the state a monopoly on violence and punishment, in exchange for the state keeping them safe. But is that deal still holding?”
No, it is not. The deal has been violated so often over recent decades that it makes a mockery of the idea of equal justice under the law. Worse, it isn’t a total absence of law – but its selective enforcement on some groups in society but not upon others. Protected classes in this new America can break the law with impunity and largely without consequences, but unprotected identity groups/classes cannot so much as cross the street against a light without incurring the wrath of the authorities.
The late social commentator Sam Francis labeled this phenomenon “anarchotyranny,” for its mix of tyranny and anarchy.

The fact that the West has given up defending its own people is seen most clearly in nations such as Great Britain, Germany, France and others.
“Grooming gangs” have been an unpleasant and dangerous fact of life in Britain for at least thirty years, yet the authorities there – and their political bosses – have done virtually nothing to combat the problem, let alone solve it. Scores of young women and girls (and sometimes boys, too) are taken and addicted to narcotics and then used as sex slaves and prostitutes, by gangs of young Muslims (Pakistanis, but others as well).
How bad has it gotten?
Recently, it has come to light that many U.K. police departments have not only been doing little to stop this scourge, but many are collaborating with the gangs!
A teenage girl was recently raped and assaulted recently in the U.K. When the assailants received a ridiculously lenient sentence from the courts, her grand-mother took to the street in a demonstration to protest. She was arrested. Her “crime”? Holding up a placard questioning immigration…
In Sweden, one of the safest nations in the world a mere thirty years ago, now has one of the highest per0capita rates of rape in the world, almost all of which are committed by “migrants” a euphemism all known to mean Muslims arrived from the Middle East and Africa. These same gangs routinely throw grenades at police stations.
In France, hundreds of Christian churches and cathedrals are burned every year. In some cases, priests and nuns are slain inside them before they are torched. One favorite pass-time for disaffected migrant youths – a.k.a. gangs of young Muslim males – is to set on fire hundreds of vehicles parked in major cities of France. The response of President Macron? To increase the flow of immigrants into the nation!
Old Europe is under attack and is being invaded by its oldest and most-determined enemy, the sons of Allah. And this enormous effort is being aided and abetted by a hostile ruling class which has seized control over the continent.
