The Perils of Being Visibly Jewish in France

The latest report on Jew-hatred concerns a violent incident that occurred last week in France.
It has become quite risky to be “visibly Jewish” in most Western countries, at least in urban areas that enjoy the benefits of cultural enrichment. A few weeks ago the Israeli government warned Israelis who were travelling to or lived in Canada not to wear any symbols or garments that would identify them as Jewish, for their own safety.
It used to be that it was far less likely to see such kinetic manifestations of Jew-hatred in the USA, but that has been changing recently, especially on university campuses. I haven’t seen any statistics on violent incidents targeting Jews in public, but I assume that the vast majority of the perpetrators have a “migration background” and are of the Muslim persuasion.
Hungary seems to be an exception, possibly because of its sane immigration policies. I think Jews are actually safer now in Budapest than they are in Tel Aviv.
