Tax Credit Increase Would Exclude Millions of Low-Income Children, Study Finds
6th June 2025
New York Times, a Voice of the Crust.
The domestic policy bill passed by the House raises the maximum child tax credit to $2,500. But about a third of children would not receive the full credit because their parents have low wages or lack jobs.
If you have low wages or lack a job, you don’t pay taxes. (Never mind the non-taxable value of public assistance that most such people get.)
If you don’t pay taxes, a tax credit does you no good. Duh. Even so dim a bulb as a writer for the NYT ought to be able to figure that out.
They actually pay people to write this nonsense.
