The parole program allowed over 200,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua to enter the United States between January and August 2023. The program did not cover the cost of flights, but allowed them to enter and travel independently.

In a recent development, a House Committee subpoena has forced the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to reveal details of its parole program designed to allow entry for thousands of individuals from several nations.
