I’m old enough to remember when the PTB were trying to persuade us that everyone was equally at risk from HIV/AIDS. When the disease was first identified, it was hard to get normal people worked up about it, since most of us figured it was easily avoided by declining to participate in behaviors that transmitted it. But the PTB wanted us in a state of terror, so they propagated the lie that EVERYONE was at risk. Now history repeats.
