A program that pays farmers not to farm isn’t saving the planet (Politico) If the government would quit subsidizing food prices, the price would drop to where half of the people now farming couldn’t afford it and would have to do something else, thereby producing the same effect as paying people not to farm. Most government programs are merely expensive (to the taxpayer) ways of trying to fix the bad effects of earlier stupid government programs.
