The Computers Rejecting Your Job Application

I suspect that removing the humans from the process is designed to insulate against charges of racism.
If it has the added benefit of selecting intelligent over unintelligent people, that’s gravy.

The HR people at work use some sort of algorithm to select candidates for open positions. I’ve found that it’s best to reject the first 100 to 200 resumes they provide to me. Their first-cut seems to give me people who say the right key words in their resume, but don’t have the real background that it’s going to take to be successful. The more complex the sorting method – and especially AI – the more likely you are eliminating anyone who isn’t a boring, sub-average moron whose only real talent is that they’ve learned to project politically correct, passive-aggressive responses.
