A friend who is a retired pilot tells me that the description of the debris would indicate an explosion. According to reports, the tower lost contact around 8,000 feet, which happens to be when pressurization begins. My friend theorizes that a pressure activated bomb would be the most likely cause. Today a piece that may be part of a missile was found, so that’s the broadcast theory. I would expect plenty of red herrings from the Iranians over the next week (i.e., when the press loses interest).
