Donald Trump’s Idea to Ship Illegal Immigrants to Sanctuary Cities Is Ridiculous and Wrong

… but the idea that you can use human beings as pawns to punish your political enemies is not only repugnant, it’s politically disastrous.
They are already being used as pawns, by the other side. It’s disingenuous to say that we have to play by the rules but they don’t. This is how losers talk, and (no surprise) the record of National Review writers for recommending losing political strategies is second to none. The number of illegal immigrants is RIGHT NOW greater than our capacity to handle them, hence the policy of ‘catch and release’ that is now in place. If they must be released, what’s the argument against releasing them in communities that have indicated a favorable attitude toward them by proclaiming their Sanctuary City status? There is none, and of course French doesn’t even try to make one. His whole argument boils down to I Don’t Like It So Therefore It’s Wrong, which is what (dare I say it?) what proglodytes do, not (supposed) conservatives.
