Entirely appropriate — if Columbus (or some other European) hadn’t ‘discovered’ the Americas, ‘native Americans’ would have remained stone-age barbarians raiding and massacring each other for centuries.
Any ‘native American’ who can read, write, do arithmetic, or live past age 40 should thank the nearest person of European descent.
