    We’ve had hydrophobic treated absorbents since the early 1980’s. Waste cooking oil is not something cheap or widely available. (Good stuff for making biodiesel.) I’m not aware of stockpiles of sulfur. Most comes from refineries and gets sold for making sulfuric acid, mercaptans, or similar sulfur compounds. Once you’ve got oil sucked up into this new Aussie material, what are you going to do with it? Can’t burn it because it contains so much sulfur. Very tough to get the sulfur out.
