The article is wrong. Finnish schools change the handwriting from cursive to printing, but continue to use paper, pencils and pens, thus not abandoning handwriting in favour of keyboard skills. Do not trust the Guardian.
Outside school, Finnish kids even learn a few letters of Fraktur, i.e. how to read “Sisu”:

“Do not trust the Guardian” is good advice for all occasions.
