We have seen the future, and it sucks.

Bring Back the Firing Squad

24th July 2014

The Other McCain has a great idea.

Joseph R. Wood III was 30 when he murdered his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Dietz, 29, and her father, Gene Dietz, 55, in Tucson in 1989. Because our legal system has been encumbered by federal court concessions to the “rights” of murderers, it took 25 years to impose justice on this cowardly hateful killer. Also, because of concessions to the Murderers’ Rights Movement, effective methods of capital punishment — the noose, the firing squad, the gas chamber, the electric chair — have been outlawed, replaced by lethal injection drugs, so that those who callously take human life can be dispatched in a “humane” manner.

This is the guy concerning whom all of the Special Snowflakes are upset because it apparently took him a couple of hours to die. I have no sympathy for him, and nothing but contempt for those who ignore the victims and weep for the victimizer.

Executions used to be brutal and public. That way, people paid real attention to them.

Executions SHOULD be brutal and public. It should be something a jury considers very deeply before signing off. It should be reserved for the very worst of offenders. And it should stand as a very severe warning to other potential offenders – esp. the very young.

Sadly, there are a lot of deserving offenders around.

What has happened with the spineless, hand-wringing leftist courts is that we’ve moved to the very hidden and quiet “lethal injection” so that the poor {sic} criminal won’t suffer. Combine that with sometimes decades of appeals and by the time the bastard hits the table, nobody outside the victim’s family even knows why the event is taking place. It has become an expensive waste of time and resources. Yet even at that, the crybabies are trying to get it shut down.

The process is becoming a slow suicide for society.

What we should do is clean out Death Row. Hang the lot of them. Publicly. With TV cameras rolling. Then do the same for every capital conviction within a reasonable time (I would suggest 90 day max.) Ignore the weenies crying about it. The bad guys will be paying attention, and the need to use capital punishment will drop accordingly.
