Legacy Media Still Covering for Biden

19th July 2025

The Foundry.

Or were White House staffers behind the unprecedented string of autopen signings?

In recent weeks, evidence has been mounting that the former president may not have been in the loop, which is, to be charitable, problematic.

Luckily for us, the folks at NBC News jumped into action with a story headlined, “Lead investigator into Biden’s use of an autopen signed letters with a digital signature.”

In it, reporters Ryan Nobles and Melanie Zanona make an inane equivalence between lead investigator Rep. James Comer signing PDFs using a digital signature—a completely legal thing to do—and Biden allegedly allowing his staff to issue blanket presidential pardons for thousands of people without knowing the names or crimes of the recipients.

As anyone who works in an office can tell you, one of these instances is done for practical reasons. Unless you print, sign, and rescan every single letter you send, the only way to sign a PDF is to use a digital signature. The other signature was used to administer an awesome plenary constitutional power used by the president, and only the president.

It’s not just NBC News. Rather than investigating a possibly immense political scandal, many in the media pedantically focused on the “autopens.”

Straining at fleas and swallowing camels.

The World Woke Up

19th July 2025

Victor Davis Hanson.

In less than six months, the entire world has been turned upside down. There is no longer such a thing as conventional wisdom or the status quo.

The unthinkable has become the banal.

Take illegal immigration—remember the 10,000 daily illegal entries under former President Joe Biden?

Recall the only solution was supposedly “comprehensive immigration reform”—a euphemism for mass amnesties.

Now, there is no such thing as daily new illegal immigration. It simply disappeared with commonsense enforcement of existing immigration laws—and a new president.

How about the 40,000-50,000 shortfall in military recruitment?

Remember all the causes that the generals cited for their inability to enlist soldiers: generational gangs, obesity, drugs, and stiff competition with private industry?

And now?

In just six months, recruitment targets are already met; the issue is mostly moot.

Israel: Minorities Face ‘Deadly Danger’ Under Syria’s Regime

19th July 2025

Read it.

This is news?

Israel on Saturday rejected Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s renewed promise to protect minorities following a wave of deadly sectarian violence, warning that Syria remains a dangerous place for non-Sunnis.

More than 700 people have been killed in Syria’s Sweida province since Sunday, as Druze communities came under attack in escalating clashes involving Sunni Bedouins, Islamist-led government forces, and armed tribal factions. Israel was drawn in after reports of atrocities against Druze civilians.

“Bottom line: In al-Sharaa’s Syria, it is very dangerous to be a member of a minority—Kurd, Druze, Alawite or Christian,” Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar posted on X. “This has been proven time and again over the past six months.”

Saar said the international community has a “duty to ensure the security and rights of the minorities in Syria” and should make any future diplomatic recognition of Syria conditional on the protection of those groups.

On Saturday, Syrian interior ministry forces began moving into the Druze heartland under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. Earlier in the week, Israel had carried out airstrikes on regime forces in Sweida and Damascus in response to reports of summary executions and other abuses targeting Druze civilians.

Israel, which has a sizeable Druze population of its own, said it acted to protect the minority from government violence.

Every Muslim-dominated regime oppresses ‘minorities’ sooner or later; often the ‘minority’ in question is merely a group of people who differ in their interpretation of Islam (‘heretics’). But Christians and Jews are always fair game.

Afghan Deportees Say They’ll Return to Germany

19th July 2025

Read it.

Some of the Afghan nationals deported from Germany to Kabul on Friday have already said they plan to return, according to media reports. The flight, from the city of Leipzig, carried 81 Afghan men, all either convicted criminals or considered security threats.

Upon arrival in Kabul, several deportees told Afghan journalists they would soon try to return to Germany, underscoring the difficulty Berlin faces in enforcing long-term expulsions.

Making return after deportation a capital crime would solve a lot of the problem. Modern politicians are just too soft to do what is necessary.

New Greek Law to Force Migrants Out or Lock Them Up

19th July 2025

Read it.

Greece is set to tighten its migration laws significantly, offering illegal migrants just two options: voluntary return or imprisonment. A new draft law proposed by the conservative government would impose a minimum prison sentence of three years on those who refuse to leave the country.

The Ministry of Migration described the changes as a necessary step to balance the protection of human rights with the enforcement of the rule of law, safeguard social cohesion, and ensure national security. The draft legislation is expected to be submitted to Parliament in Athens in the coming days.

At present, individuals without legal status are typically held in deportation camps, where they may eventually be granted temporary leave. The proposed law would mark a sharp departure from this approach.

Under the draft, prison sentences for unauthorised stay would not be subject to suspension or reduction—except in cases where migrants agree to leave voluntarily, in which case the sentence may be lifted. “From now on, there will be only two paths: return or imprisonment,” the ministry said.

UK to Lower Voting Age to 16, But Could Plans to Garner ‘Socialist Fodder’ End Up Backfiring?

19th July 2025

Read it.

Britain’s left-wing Labour government has announced plans to lower the voting age in time for the next U.K. general election, allowing 16- and 17-year-olds to vote in what it described as sweeping electoral reforms to “modernize democracy.”

Ministers say the move is designed to rebuild public trust, but critics have accused the government of trying to tilt the electoral playing field in its favor, with recent polling suggesting Labour would benefit from a third of the votes.

The voting age reform is part of a broader Elections Bill that will also ease voter ID rules by allowing bank cards as accepted identification and introduce tougher regulations on foreign donations, campaigner abuse, and digital voter registration.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner said the plan would “break down barriers to participation” and deliver on Labour’s manifesto promise to extend the vote to young people who already “work, pay taxes, and serve in the military.”

Minister for Democracy Rushanara Ali called it a “generational step forward.”

No, they just want more votes for Labour from a demographic that has often demonstrated an inability to think things through. There  is a reason that voting is restricted to adults. Indeed, a good case could be made for raising it to 25, which is where the insurance companies (based on actual statistical data) consider people old enough not to do stupid shit in traffic.

Afghan Brings 22 ‘Family’ Members to UK as Vetting Rules Collapse

19th July 2025

Read it.

A single Afghan migrant was allowed to bring 22 relatives to Britain under a secretive resettlement scheme that has now sparked outrage over security, cost, and government transparency.

The unprecedented case emerged this week after the High Court lifted a super-injunction that had concealed the fallout from a 2022 Ministry of Defence data breach—described as the most damaging in British history. The leak, caused by a Royal Marine’s email error, exposed thousands of Afghans linked to UK forces to potential Taliban retaliation.

The government responded by launching a classified evacuation programme, the Afghanistan Response Route. But court rulings significantly expanded the definition of “family member,” allowing claimants to bring in large extended families—regardless of blood or legal ties.

Stop Eating Sugar

18th July 2025

If you’re struggling to lose weight, just remove sugar from your diet. I promise you: you’ll be thinner. Even better if you also skip white flour and other ingredients with a high glycemic index. This should be common knowledge by now, but can’t stress it enough.

If you’re fat and continue eating sugar, you’re choosing to be fat. But I can understand why: sugar is addictive. Not only it tastes good, but it also gives you a dopamine reward. But the cravings will go away after a withdrawal period.

Leave out all added sugar. It’s in everything, so you’ll need to be careful. If you want mayonnaise or salad dressing, you’ll have to do it yourself. Olive oil or vinaigrette is a good alternative.

How Universities Killed the Academic

18th July 2025

UnHerd.

Is it possible to write a satirical campus novel anymore? Satire requires exaggeration and the pointed introduction of absurdity, but it is hard to see how modern university life could be further embellished in these respects. As usual, there were some classic stories served up this week for civilians to laugh at.

In the Daily Mail we read that policies at Glasgow University and Imperial College London now direct staff and students to avoid the phrase “the most qualified person should get the job” because this counts as a microaggression. Over in the US, yet another professor resplendent in beadwork and buckskin has admitted to falsely claiming possession of Native American ancestry. And an article just out in the Applied Linguistics Review provides a brand new excuse to lazy researchers: the requirement of a literature review in some disciplines imposes “particular configurations of privileged knowledge” amounting to an “enactment of symbolic violence”. Or, at least, that’s what students will be telling linguistics lecturers from now on.

Students at Netanyahu’s Pennsylvania High School Want Him Ejected From the Alumni Hall of Fame

18th July 2025

Read it.

More than 200 students at Cheltenham High School in suburban Philadelphia have petitioned for the school’s alumni hall of fame to eject Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who graduated from the school in 1967.

Officers of the school’s alumni association are meeting with school district officials on Friday to consider the petition, according to a report in The New York Times, which said the association’s secretary privately said the group was inclined “to keep Netanyahu up, but maybe with an update in his biography.” Netanyahu was added to the hall of fame in 1999, during his first stint as prime minister.

The petition, submitted last month by roughly 15% of students, cited Netanyahu’s criminal indictment and arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, the newspaper reported. Netanyahu denies the criminal charges against him and Israel rejects the allegation that it has committed war crimes in Gaza, where it has been battling Hamas since Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Netanyahu is an American citizen, as was his elder brother Yonatan, hero of the Entebbe Raid and a Harvard man.

France Frees Pro-Palestinian Terrorist; Far Left Cries ‘Political Prisoner’

18th July 2025

Terrorist Georges Abdallah is to be released from prison after forty years of imprisonment. The Left is hailing the “liberation” of a “resistance fighter,” while the Right is outraged that a dangerous man is once again free, benefiting from numerous political and media supporters.

Following a court ruling, Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a Marxist and pro-Palestinian Lebanese terrorist who has been in prison since 1987 and is now 74 years old, will be released on Tuesday, July 25th.

At the time of his conviction, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for complicity in the 1982 assassination of two diplomats, one American and the other Israeli. After twelve years in captivity, he began to request early release, which was systematically denied until now. He has since become known as one of France’s longest-serving prisoners.

Channel Crossings Surge Past 23,000 as Migrant Crisis Deepens

18th July 2025

Read it.

Over 23,000 migrants have illegally crossed the English Channel so far this year, according to the latest unofficial tally of landings on the Kent coast.

The latest surge—over 320 crossings on Thursday, July 17th—brought the total to a politically charged milestone, now 55% higher than at the same point last year.

Although the Home Office usually issues a ‘Red Day’ warning when good weather encourages crossings, the latest arrivals on Friday, July 18th, happened in heavy Channel fog.

So far, over 46,000 migrants have crossed illegally since Labour leader Keir Starmer became Prime Minister. The strain of housing new arrivals—and reports of crimes linked to some migrants—is fuelling local tensions, most recently in Epping, Essex. Public frustration has grown further after footage emerged showing French police giving water and life jackets to migrants as they waited for boats to take them to England.

Despite recent agreements with France and Germany, people-smuggling operations in the Channel show no signs of slowing down.

Illegal Immigrant Accused of Faking ICE Kidnapping to Solicit Donations

An illegal immigrant living in South Los Angeles faces federal charges for allegedly falsely claiming she had been kidnapped by federal immigration agents in a fast food restaurant parking lot, the U.S. Attorney’s Office reported July 17.

According to federal authorities, Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, 41, faked her own kidnapping, and her family used the made-up story to solicit online donations from the community.

Calderon has been charged with conspiracy and making false statements to federal officers.

She is now in U.S. immigration custody and is expected to make her first appearance in Los Angeles federal court in the next few weeks, according to prosecutors.

Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint on July 16 detailing the alleged web of deceit that started last month.

Sorting the Self

18th July 2025

Read it.

“We are unknown to ourselves, we knowers…and there is good reason for this. We have never looked for ourselves—so how are we ever supposed to find ourselves?”1 Much has changed since the late nineteenth century, when Nietzsche wrote those words. We now look obsessively for ourselves, and we find ourselves in myriad ways. Then we find more ways of finding ourselves. One involves a tool, around which grew a science, from which bloomed a faith, and from which fell the fruits of dogma. That tool is the questionnaire. The science is psychometrics. And the faith is a devotion to self-codification, of which the revelation of personality is the fruit.

Far too many people spend copious amounts of time trying to ‘find themselves’. Bullshit. You are who you are. There is nothing to find. If you need to ‘find yourself’, you’re looking in the wrong place; under the lamp-post because the light is better there.

What these people are looking for is someone they can pretend to be. Most people refuse to deal directly with reality, dealing instead through an artificial construct of who they would like to be (or, more usually, who they would like to appear to be) at second-hand. Cary Grant famously said, “I pretended to be the person I wanted to be until I became that person” No, he didn’t. He just got world-class at pretending–he was, after all, an actor, whose living depended on it.

They have a self-image based on their looking at this constructed image through the eyes of others. Depending on the opinions of others, this self-image is beyond their control and very fragile, easily damaged and almost impossible to repair.

Those who prey on such people are invested in this process and its cultivation, like race-hustler Jesse Jackson leading slum children in a chant of “I AM SOMEBODY!”, nobody involved realizing the fact that if you were actually somebody you wouldn’t have to chant about it.

“Find out who you are and then be that person.” No. Just be the person you are. That person knows what is appropriate to The You That You Are without any effort. If you don’t like what that person does, then fix it, but don’t pretend that you are somebody else.

Europe Turns Right on Immigration: Member States Rewrite the Rules

18th July 2025

Read it.

A paradigm shift is sweeping across Europe. From Finland to Portugal, from Greece to Ireland, countries across the continent are steadily tightening their immigration policies. What progressive elites used to denounce as ‘xenophobic rhetoric’ barely a decade ago is now being implemented as laws, decrees, and police operations in response to mounting public pressure led by the social and political Right. Reality, pushed forward by popular discontent, has crashed into the immigration debate with full force.

The facts speak for themselves. Austria has become the first EU country to deport a Syrian national back to his country of origin, and Germany has already announced its intention to follow suit—whether it follows through remains to be seen. Greece, meanwhile, has temporarily suspended asylum applications from North African nationals, a decision prompted by a surge in illegal arrivals on the island of Crete. In an unprecedented move, Italy has established migrant centers in Albania, where rejected asylum seekers are detained until deportation.

This tightening also extends to the regularization of migrants. Portugal has overturned a 2018 regulation that allowed tourists to legalize their status after a year of employment and social security contributions. Greece has gone even further, abolishing the possibility for illegal immigrants to apply for residency altogether, even after seven years in the country.

The Proglodyte Plan of Invade the World, Invite the World appears to be losing steam.

Foreign Births Now Majority as German Fertility Hits Record Low

18th July 2025

Read it.

Germany’s native birth rate has fallen to its lowest level in nearly 30 years, while births to foreign mothers now account for over half of all newborns, according to new official data.

The figures, published by Germany’s Federal Statistical Office, confirm a trend that for years was dismissed as a conspiracy theory: the German people are on their way to becoming a minority in their homeland, thanks to the collapse in birth rates among German citizens, coupled with the steady increase in births among foreign women and mass immigration.

According to the latest official data, only 677,117 children were born in Germany last year, a 2% drop compared to the previous year. The figure alone is alarming, but it becomes even more so when broken down by the mother’s origin: women with German citizenship have a fertility rate of just 1.23 children per woman, the lowest in nearly three decades. Meanwhile, women with foreign citizenship maintain a rate of 1.84.

Nearly Half of Young Dutch Women Avoid Their Own Streets After Dark

18th July 2025

Read it.

In the Netherlands, nearly half of young women regularly avoid areas in their own neighbourhoods they perceive as unsafe, reflecting a broader trend of heightened caution among women across all age groups.

Among women aged 15 to 25, 45% say they take detours to steer clear of risky places—more than twice the percentage of men in the same age group (21.5%). This pattern continues among women aged 25 to 65, with about one-third reporting similar behavior, while men in this age range remain around 19%.

The primary driver behind these precautions is fear of becoming a victim of crime. Women not only take steps to protect themselves on the street, but also at home. For instance, 70% of women over 65 say they avoid opening the door in the evening, a habit shared by 55 to 63% of younger women. In contrast, only about a third of men report the same level of caution.

People living alone—regardless of gender—tend to be more cautious than those living with a partner. Still, women consistently report greater concern for their safety across all age and household categories.

Second Night of Unrest Outside Essex Migrant Hotel

18th July 2025

Read it.

Protesters returned to a migrant hotel in Epping, England, on Thursday night, July 17th, for a second demonstration that escalated into violence. Eggs and fireworks were thrown at the hotel and police, and one person was arrested for affray. Much of the disorder occurred after the main protest ended, as people were dispersing.

Residents in the Essex town blocked roads and clashed with police in response to the continued housing of asylum seekers at the Bell Hotel—among them 38-year-old Ethiopian Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu. Kebatu, who crossed the Channel illegally on June 29th, 2025, was later charged with three sexual assaults and is due to stand trial next month at Colchester magistrates’ court. He is now in detention.

Remarkably, state broadcaster the BBC quoted its Essex political reporter Simon Dedman as estimating “there were about 40 pro-refugee protesters and about 400 members of far-right groups” at the scene. In fact, the counter-demonstrators were led by Stand Up To Racism, widely considered to be a front for the far-left Socialist Workers Party (of which its secretary, Weyman Bennett, has been a member). The BBC’s claim about “far-right group members” implies that few, if any, of the protesters were concerned local residents, despite widespread anger over the presence of Kebatu and others like him.

Local Conservative politicians—including district council leader Chris Whitbread and MPs Neil Hudson and Alex Burghart—have called for the Bell Hotel to stop housing asylum seekers. They also criticised the Home Office for what they described as poor judgment in placing migrants in Epping.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

18th July 2025

Read it.

New York Democrats—and the broader party in desperate need of a course correction—continue to double, triple, and even quadruple down on all things woke. They’ve now taken it a step further by openly cheerleading socialism and Marxism. This increasingly radical un-American direction, backed by a network of dark money-funded NGOs, has even drawn criticism from prominent figures like JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who recently described Democrats as “idiots … with big hearts and little brains.”

Democrats “overdid DEI,” Dimon said last week, adding, “I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they’re idiots.”

Dimon isn’t wrong—in fact, he’s spot on. He sees clearly that the party has veered further down a toxic, increasingly un-American path at a time when the Overton Window shifted back toward the center-right after a decade of woke. Yet Democrats seem oblivious to this realignment of what is now socially acceptable in the eyes of the American people.

Meanwhile, Democrats are testing the waters with socialist Bernie Sanders and Marxist New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, posing for a staged photo op.

“The Oligarchs are prepared to undermine democracy & spend tens of millions to buy the election for his opponents,” Sanders’ social media team wrote on X, adding, “We will not allow that to happen. Stand with Zohran.”

Zohran Mamdani Said He Helped Edit the Writings of His Father, a Radical Academic Who Has Called for a ‘Third Intifadah,’ to Make Them ‘More Accessible’

18th July 2025

Read it.

Democratic nominee for New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani said he has helped his father, a radical Columbia University professor who has called for a “Third Intifadah,” edit his writings in an attempt to “stay engaged” with his work, audio reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon shows.

“I will help my parents, like editing their speeches or writings, just as, like, a fresh eye, to make it more accessible,” he said during a resurfaced 2017 interview on the AirGo podcast. “And that’s awesome, because I also get to stay engaged with what they’re saying and doing.”

The comments raise new questions about Mamdani’s support for the extremist views of his father, Mahmood Mamdani. The elder Mamdani’s latest book, dedicated to his son, repeatedly equates Jews with Nazis, rails against the “Judaization” of Israel by “Ashkenazi elites,” and claims that Israel’s existence proves that Hitler’s “Final Solution” worked. He has also appeared to justify suicide bombers as simply a “category of soldier” and called for a “Third Intifadah against settler colonialism.”

The ban, which came about after “French youths with a migration background” continuously caused problems at the pool and in pool bathrooms, including sexual harassment of young girls. The situation even sparked international headlines.

However, the Swiss paper 20 Minuten reported a surge in season ticket sales after the ban was put in place.

“It went very well. Citizens have rediscovered the bathing establishment with the peace and quiet that comes with it,“ said Lionel Maître, the municipal councilor for tourism and leisure in Porrentruy. “We have seen an increase in season ticket sales as citizens have finally regained the long-awaited sense of security. There have been no problems and no new bathing bans since then.”

Maître said that it had become increasingly noticeable that the perpetrators had Arabic names.

Apollo News also reported that the need for security has suddenly disappeared since the ban on foreigners.

La. Gov. Landry: Camp Beauregard Name Returns to Guard Center

18th July 2025

Read it.

Republican Gov. Jeff Landry directed the Louisiana National Guard on Monday to restore “Camp Beauregard” as the name of its training center in Pineville.

But instead of honoring Confederate Gen. Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard as it was intended when the center opened in 1917, it will be named for the general’s father, Capt. Jacques Toutant Beauregard, a member of the Louisiana militia who fought in the 1815 Battle of New Orleans, a defining moment in the U.S. victory over Britain in the War of 1812.

“We’re naming our premier training installation after an American hero and patriot who fought for the freedom of the city of New Orleans, the State of Louisiana, and the United States of America against a foreign invader,” Maj. Gen. Thomas Friloux, adjutant general of Louisiana’s National Guard, said in a news release.

Reconciling the Right

18th July 2025

Curtis Yarvin:

After an energetic start, the Trump administration has started to slow down. The most worrisome trend is its increasing tendency to focus its efforts away from public drama and

If this trend continues, everyone currently in the administration is likely to end up in prison—or at least, spend the rest of their lives in legal meetings. Why? We’ll see in a moment.

Perhaps even worse, the administration has gone through an ugly public breakup with its largest, most energetic, and most creative supporter—who is now threatening to pour his energy into a literal third party, an idea as promising as a butter-fueled rocket.

What is going on? Who are we? What are we doing? Let’s review?

The regime

The current American regime was born in the de facto monarchy of FDR, which after his death became an institutional oligarchy or “meritocracy.”

Critical institutions in this oligarchy are both inside and outside the formal state: agencies, courts and Congress inside the line, nonprofits, press and universities outside the line. The “Deep State” is the body of the regime; the “Cathedral” is its brain. The complex web of financial and procedural connections between brain and body renders the symbolic distinction between “public” and “private” historically nugatory.

Only for-profit corporations are arguably independent of the government. But even they are enmeshed in a web of regulation and press that leaves them generally compliant. A defense contractor is effectively an agency and operates like one. Yet even a social network has no choice but to bend its public mind to the whims of the powers that be. These powers are decentralized powers. They are no less real for that, and much harder to kill.

Beyond this oligarchy, there is nothing. The hotbed of democracy, the Congress, has a 98% incumbency rate and a seniority The monarchical aspect of the old Constitution—the President—is largely symbolic. We saw this vividly when we spent four years with a senile President, without the public noticing or even being told.

The White House is much more than the President. The White House resolves interagency conflicts. Some mechanism is needed to resolve interagency conflicts. But if we assess that these decisions are pretty random anyway, that mechanism could be as easy as a coin toss.

A good test for the reality of political change is whether a man on the street would notice the change, if he didn’t read the newspaper. Using this test, few Americans could tell the difference between a Democratic President and a quarter. Alas, the Presidency is going the way of the old European monarchies, which in many countries have stuck around in symbolic form. There will always be ceremonies, banquets and photo-ops.

In the contest between this oligarchy and democracy, democracy always loses. Not only does public opinion not control the regime—the regime controls public opinion. In most cases, the mind of the ruled class can be counted on to follow the mind of the ruling class, if sometimes with a lag of decades. Fashion flows downward.

Even in cases where the people are stubborn—there is no country where mass immigration has ever been popular—regime ideology prevails at a policy level. And mass immigration is the final solution to the democracy problem. As Bertolt Brecht said: would not it be easier for the government to elect a new people?

The hobbit army

Today’s Republican Party is the voice of democracy, or as some call it “populism.” It exists to oppose the oligarchy. Or perhaps, to appear to oppose the oligarchy.

The spectrum between controlled opposition, ineffective opposition, and weak opposition is hard to measure. But ever since FDR chose Wendell Willkie, a Democrat until six months before the election, as his opponent in 1940, Republicans have been on this spectrum.

While Nixon and Reagan were certainly sincere in their populism, their administrations had no lasting positive effect on the regime—indeed, Nixon is responsible for affirmative action and Reagan for immigration amnesty. Could Democrats have sold these policies?

Trump is different. He started his first administration with enormous roars about crossing the Rubicon. Then he marched up to the Rubicon, sat down and fished.

It is not a healthy place to fish. Clouds of infected mosquitoes rise from this river. Trump spent the whole administration on the defensive. And when he finally fled, the bugs pursued him. The lawfare did not stop until he was elected again.

While the second Trump administration has not crossed the Rubicon or come remotely close, it is not sitting around and fishing. It charged in ankle-deep, momentarily terrifying the mosquitoes—who are at least on the defensive.

Moreover, the new administration even passes the man-on-the-street test—at least if we can believe the reports that deportation has decreased congestion on Los Angeles freeways. Migrants are no longer flooding across the southern border, and the administration may even complete a coast-to-coast fence (albeit cuttable in 90 seconds with an angle grinder).

But except in foreign policy, with the miraculous and almost accidental closure of USAID, no significant damage has been done to the regime. To the contrary: the opportunity to oppose Trump has rejuvenated it.

Four years of a senile President, plus a four-year hangover from the ecstatic great awakening of 2020, had done more damage to the regime than any Republican administration ever. As radical elite perspectives crossed over and went mainstream, they became stale. The regime lost its self-confidence and raison d’etre.

Now, with Trump splashing like a grizzly in the shallows of the Rubicon, not just bellowing loudly but actually doing huge, shocking things— slaying USAID, decimating the Education Department, immuring migrants in a cartoonish “Alligator Alcatraz,” suing even Harvard itself, etc, etc—mere self-defense has brought the regime’s animal spirits back to life.

The elven lords

America in the late 20th century is not divided by class. It is divided by channel. A hobbit is an ABC-NBC-CBS American. An elf is an NPR-PBS American. Left and right are literally the spectrum on your radio dial.

Most elves are “high elves”—faithful believers in the regime, or at least in its ideas. Worshipers of the Cathedral. But in the castles of the elves, nay even in their loftiest temples, new, seditious doctrines are heard. Who knows what face a man wears beneath his cloak?

These are the whispers of the new “dark elves”—from basement-dwelling X anons to the King of X himself. Who are these men—and their age-gap art-ho women? Some call them dorks. In reality, they slay. What do they want? A line from Ernst von Salomon comes to mind: “what we wanted, we did not know. What we knew, we did not want.”

Unfortunately, in Washington, or in any system of power, you are nothing unless you agree with yourself. The tech lords do not agree on anything—except that they disbelieve in everything. But that means they believe in nothing. And there is no flag of nothing.

The great schism

Right now, the opposition forces are in chaos—divided by personal and cultural rifts. Jeffrey Epstein emerges to challenge Adolf Hitler as the world’s most important dead person. Or is he dead? Many Americans are starting to suspect that they will never even know.

When the regime is united and its enemies are divided, it always wins. The regime is always united. The Democrats have perfect discipline. The Republicans have—no idea what they want. Some want this. Some want that. The Democrats all want the same thing—power.

One nice thing about people who just want power: they never take things personally. If you stab them in the ribs, for instance, they will do one of two things: either mercilessly plot to destroy you, or smile and wish you a nice day. There is no useful option in between. But try explaining this to some great elven lord who has not in decades felt the shiv’s prick?

Actually, the lord was not even touched. But one of his men was stabbed, brutally, in an alley—by some Neanderthal from the lowbrow faction that I’ve taken to calling the “Presidential Retard Caucus.” The Caucus, like all power players, loves to show its strength. The stabbed man? A homosexual. A Protestant. Something like that. Did it matter? He was the lord’s retainer. The lord was obliged to beef.

This sense of reciprocal loyalty is absolutely essential in the feudal world of the elf-barons. In Washington? If you want loyalty, get a dog. People get stabbed. It happens. Idk maybe hire him yourself.

This attitude, completely normal in the reptile enclosure of DC, where betrayal is oxygen, is completely despicable on the savannah of Silicon Valley, where loyalty is life. Without loyalty, a large organization cannot execute as if it was a single institution. Washington cannot execute, because it is not really an organization—just a pit of snakes.

If your goal is to clean up a snakepit, though, you have to learn the ways of the snake. If you need power, not for the usual self-indulgent and onanistic reasons, but because there is some important problem which power is needed to solve: learn from the masters of power. That their reasons are not yours makes them

In general, the pattern of elf-lord failures in Washington is that they fail these types of “shit tests.” Lacking either an instinct or a doctrine for what to do when they get stabbed in the ribs, they yell, cry, complain, run away, fight, etc. To the experienced snakes in the pit, these responses all say the same thing: you are not a snake. This is a pit of snakes. You do not belong here.

And the elves are completely devoid of positive ideas. No one has ever taught them the ancient art of statesmanship. They can think only of cutting budgets.

Not that the hobbits are innocent in this schism! They are anything but innocent. Fundamentally, the hobbit is living in a dream—a kind of virtual Shire, superimposed on his senses by augmented reality, over the grim rotting Yookay that is everywhere around him. America has its own Yookay, with a helot class that speaks Spanish and not Urdu. Does he want the truth? He can’t handle the truth!

Even when the hobbit sees that he is not living in Norman Rockwell America, he is never far from the idea that “acting as if” will get it back. Hobbit politics is fundamentally a form of “manifesting.” Because this cargo-cult creed is incoherent and fake, any situation in which hobbit politicians are making actual decisions will be mercurial and unpredictable. In fact, as happened in February 2020, the high elves may have to turn their platform on a dime (“we have always been at war with Eastasia”) to navigate the hobbits’ mercurial turn.

How can these groups knit themselves into a single effective political force? I despair. Everyone despairs. And—

The brutal future

“I have seen the future,” sang Leonard Cohen, “and it’s murder.”

The staffers in the Trump administration have not quite absorbed the full reality of their predicament. Like Duke Leto in Arrakis, everyone in the administration—from Trump himself on down—is in a trap.

They have one and only one way to stay out of the jaws of this trap: *never lose another election*.

What most Trump staffers don’t realize is that, in the next Democratic administration, lawfare will be *industrialized*. Everyone who worked for the administration, everyone who took money from the administration, will be targeted. Think there aren’t enough prosecutors? There will be enough prosecutors. Thousands of trespassers were targeted after January 6. Trump appointees are not technically trespassing, but the principle is the same. When swine enter the temple, a great purification is necessary. This purification calls for blood—your blood.

The executive branch? No such thing. Everyone in every job in every agency has a mission which is defined by law. Didn’t follow the letter and/or spirit (either will do) of the law? You broke the law. And was there a budget involved? Uh huh. Thought so. You’re an embezzler. You’re a thief. To protect the public—you need to be in jail. You broke the law. This is America. Break the law—go to jail. Criminal! Thief!

The problem with the second Trump administration is that they’ve actually gotten their feet wet in the Rubicon. Like the crowds on January 6—this may not be effective opposition, but it is certainly not controlled opposition. Or at least, the control could be improved.

Revolution in medicine: A Molecule Produced by Gut Bacteria Causes Atherosclerosis, Responsible for Millions of Deaths

17th July 2025

Read it.

The in-depth study of Santander employees using advanced medical imaging equipment soon revealed another shocking finding: atherosclerosis was ubiquitous. The volunteers were apparently healthy, aged between 40 and 55, but 63% of the participants showed signs of the disease. The new results show that some gut bacteria, in certain states, produce imidazole propionate, a simple molecule with six carbon atoms, eight hydrogen atoms, two nitrogen atoms, and two oxygen atoms (C?H?N?O?). This compound enters the blood, interacts with immature white blood cells, and triggers an inflammatory reaction in the arteries, which promotes the buildup of fatty plaques.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for it to reach your local doctor.

The Illegal, Democrat-Linked Pot Farm the Left Wants You to Ignore

17th July 2025

Victor Davis Hanson

I want to talk about a big controversy. And that is Immigration and Customs Enforcement was recently deployed to the largest pot farm, cannabis farm, in California: Glass House Farms, run by Graham Farrar. He is the owner of it. And he was employing well over 300 illegal aliens, openly, in front of everybody.

It’s in the wider Los Angeles area, in Ventura County. And ICE went there. Of course, as it happens now, people within the government, the bureaucracy, tip off protesters. So as soon as ICE got to the pot farm, there were people. The usual crowd: academics, leftists, Latino organizers that are radical.

And of course, they were waving the Mexican flag. The flag that the people who were going to be detained do not want to go back to. They were not waving the American flag, of the country in which they are desperately eager to stay, even under illegal auspices.

But here’s the irony. This raid typified or exemplified or was emblematic of all the strange things that are going on with illegal immigration.

Climate Jihadi Allegedly Skyjacks Plane After Declaring Global Warming Will Turn ‘Earth into Venus’

17th July 2025

Read it.

A man charged on Wednesday with allegedly hijacking a plane in Canada also appeared to post on Facebook that he is the “messiah sent to save humanity from climate change,” according to local reports and police.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) charged 39-year-old Shaheer Cassim with one count of hijacking after he “acted with an ideological motive,” allegedly threatened a flight instructor and hijacked a plane before landing at Victoria International Airport (YVR), according to the RCMP website. The former commercial pilot allegedly posted on his social media and personal blog that the “angel Gabriel” gave him a “message from Allah” that the Arctic Sea ice is melting and will soon “turn Earth into Venus.”

“Investigators have determined the suspect acted with an ideological motive to disrupt airspace,” Sergeant Tammy Lobb, media relations officer with the Canadian Federal Policing Pacific Region said. “Thankfully, no one was injured during this incident.” (RELATED: ‘Palantir Powers ICE’: Climate Libs Arrested After Blocking Office Entrance)

The RCMP and YVR did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment. Cassim could not be reached.

Meet the Forever Maskers

17th July 2025

Read it.

There exists today, in 2025, a small group of people still fanatically obsessed with COVID-19. They think national governments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organisation are conspiring to hide the truth about the pandemic. They have lost trust in mainstream scientific research, and instead do their own research on wacky cures and remedies.

These people are not ‘far-right,’ anti-vaxx conspiracy theorists, as you might expect. Rather, they are convinced that the COVID-19 pandemic never ended.

Years after the last lockdown measures were lifted, since the daily press briefings stopped, and since the posters instructing us how to properly wash our hands were quietly taken down, for a small, committed group, the pandemic goes on. These are the ‘forever maskers’—people who continue to wear their N95 masks in public, refuse to meet friends and family indoors, and disinfect every item they touch.

You may have come across them on social-media sites like X, berating others whom they deem to be less virtuous than they are, for not abiding by these insane, self-imposed rules. They insist that the pandemic isn’t over, that it will never be over, and that not taking the ‘right’ precautions could literally kill you or your loved ones.

Hey, you gotta look for yourself … nobody else is going to.

UC San Diego Thought It Found a Loophole to Offer Race-Based Scholarships. Now It’s Being Sued Under the KKK Act.

17th July 2025

Read it.

In 1983, the University of California, San Diego, created the Black Alumni Scholarship Fund (BASF). Operated and funded by the university, the scholarship subsidized the tuition of black students—who at that time made up just 2 percent of UCSD—and provided them with mentorship and study abroad opportunities.

Then Proposition 209 passed.

California’s ban on affirmative action, which went into effect in 1997, meant that state universities could no longer offer scholarships like UCSD’s. But rather than shut down the program, the university found a loophole to keep it up and running.

With help from private donors, UCSD transferred the scholarship to an off-campus nonprofit, the San Diego Foundation, that was not subject to Prop. 209. The move allowed the scholarship to continue operating under the auspices of a private institution, even though the program is only available to UCSD students and uses racial data provided by the university.

Now in its 42nd year, BASF has doled out more than $800,000 on behalf of UCSD. It is part of a family of race-based programs, including those in Texas and Michigan, that are financed by private nonprofits but support students at public schools, an arrangement critics say is used to outsource discrimination to the private sector.

A new lawsuit threatens to chip away at the legal foundations of that arrangement. In a complaint filed against UCSD and the San Diego Foundation on Wednesday, a conservative law firm is arguing that both entities conspired to deprive students of their civil rights, thereby violating a 19th-century law meant to rein in racial vigilantism.

‘Flat Out Terrible’: Fewer Than 1 in 5 Voters Approve of Congressional Democrats, New Poll Finds

17th July 2025

Read it.

Congressional Democrats’ job approval rating has plunged to a record low, with less than 20 percent of registered voters approving of their performance and a majority of Democratic voters expressing disapproval, according to a new poll.

Only 19 percent of voters are satisfied with how Democratic officials are performing in Congress—the lowest rating ever recorded by Quinnipiac University since its pollsters began asking the question in 2009. Seventy-two percent said they disapprove, while 10 percent offered no opinion, the Wednesday poll found.

Even among Democratic voters, disapproval outweighed support. Fifty-two percent said they disapprove of their congressional leaders, compared with just 39 percent who approve. Nine percent declined to answer.

Arkansas Critical Race Theory Ban Cleared With Ruling

17th July 2025

Read it.

An Arkansas law banning the teaching of critical race theory in classrooms will be allowed to proceed after a federal appellate court lifted a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit filed by teachers, students, and others who said the law suppresses free speech.

The U.S. 8th District Court of Appeals, in ruling for the state on Wednesday, said that it concluded that “the district court erred by granting a preliminary injunction to the students because they are not likely to succeed on their free speech claim,” reports ABC affiliate KATV.

The ban is part of the LEARNS Act, signed in 2023. According to Section 16 of the legislation, the “indoctrination” of students through the teaching of critical race theory, which covers teaching in schools about race in connection with American history, is prohibited.

Yet anotther win against Wokery.

CBS Reporter Says Trump Supporters Gave Him PTSD After Trump Was Shot

17th July 2025

Newsbusters.

The media’s desire to make themselves the main character in the story reached the Platonic level on Wednesday as CBS correspondent Scott MacFarlane joined former moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd, on his appropriately named podcast: The Chuck Toddcast. According to MacFarlane, he was diagnosed with PTSD after the first assassination attempt against President Trump, not because of the shooting, but because of the reaction of Trump supporters. Meanwhile, Todd thought this was a completely reasonable thing to claim.

MacFarlane recalled, “For those of us there, it was such a horror because you saw an emerging America. And it wasn’t the shooting, Chuck. This was—I got diagnosed with PTSD within 48 hours. I got put on trauma leave, not because, I think, of the shooting, but because, you could, you saw it in the eyes, the reaction of the people. They were coming for us. If he didn’t jump up with his fist, they were going to come kill us.”

A perfectly reasonable reaction, I think.

Grenell Calls Out Newsom Palisades Land Grab

17th July 2025

Read it.

Richard Grenell, President Donald Trump’s envoy for special missions, called out Gavin Newsom on social media, slamming the California governor for lying to residents about his administration’s intentions for their properties, which were devastated by the Palisades and Eaton wildfires earlier this year.

“@GavinNewsom lied,” Grenell wrote Wednesday night on X. “He said he wouldn’t grab the land where homes burned down in the Palisades to build low-income housing facilities – but he and Karen Bass just did.

“They are changing the character of the Palisades and Malibu to fit their woke agenda,” he continued. “They don’t care what residents want. They can’t even deliver building permits properly.”

I delineated the Democrat playbook on this Tuesday.

Jill Biden Aid Pleads 5th: Refuses to Answer Questions on Autopen Scandal

17th July 2025

Read it.

With the recent shocking admission by Joe Biden that he did not personally approve at least some of his sweeping presidential pardons and that they were signed by autopen, millions of Americans are questioning how many decisions in the Biden White House were actually being made by his unelected wife, criminal son, along with a shadow government of bureaucrats and aids.

Emails indicating that then-White House chief of staff Jeff Zients approved the use of the notorious White House autopen. Biden’s team used an autopen on 25 warrants for pardons and commutations in December and January of last year, but two of those warrants granted clemency to thousands of people.

In a House Republican investigation on the autopen signatures and Joe Biden’s mental state, a former senior aide to Jill Biden, Anthony Bernal, became the second person to invoke the Fifth Amendment and decline to answer questions.

Trump Administration Pulls $4 Billion From California High-Speed Rail Project

17th July 2025

CNBC, a Voice of the Crust.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has formally terminated $4 billion in federal funding for the California High-Speed Rail Authority, weeks after putting the CHSRA’s bullet train project on notice

In a termination letter to the authority’s CEO, Ian Choudri, dated Wednesday, Federal Railroad Administration acting Administrator Drew Feeley wrote that the CHSRA “breached the commitments” it made in its original agreements, specifically by displaying an “inability to complete” the goals it set out to reach.

“After over a decade of failures, CHSRA’s mismanagement and incompetence has proven it cannot build its train to nowhere on time or on budget,” Duffy said in a statement. “It’s time for this boondoggle to die.”

From the Antiplanner (2018, SEVEN years ago):

Finishing the high-speed rail line from San Francisco to Los Angeles is now expected to cost $77.3 billion, says the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s latest cost estimate. This is a big jump from the 2016 estimate of $64.3 billion and an even bigger jump from the $25 billion estimated in 2000, which was the only one available when voters approved the project in 2008. Completion has also been pushed back from 2020 in the 2000 plan to 2029 in the 2016 plan to 2033 in the latest plan.

While the cost increase has gotten a lot of media attention, less noticed is the fact that this $77.3-billion plan is for trains that will go at “speeds exceeding 200 miles per hour” and “typically” take “under three hours” to go from Los Angeles to San Francisco. The 2000 plan called for trains going 220 miles per hour and taking two-and-a-half hours from LA to San Francisco.

Of course, 220 “exceeds” 200 and two-and-a-half hours is “under” three hours, but the softening of the language makes it clear that the authority doesn’t expect to meet the original 2000 targets. This is partly because of a 2013 law effectively limiting speeds in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. A further quibble is that the “under three hours” estimate is for non-stop trains, and most trains “typically” won’t go non-stop.

Calling this a ‘boondoggle’ is being kind. It is the poster child for Blue State Incompetence.

Government is the reason we can’t have nice things.
