Third Chinese Scientist Charged With Smuggling Bio-Agent Into US

10th June 2025

Read it.

A Chinese scientist was arrested while arriving in the U.S. at the Detroit airport, the second case in days involving the alleged smuggling of biological material, authorities said Monday.

The scientist is accused of shipping biological material months ago to staff at a laboratory at the University of Michigan. The FBI, in a court filing, described it as material related to certain worms and requires a government permit.

“The guidelines for importing biological materials into the U.S. for research purposes are stringent, but clear, and actions like this undermine the legitimate work of other visiting scholars,” said John Nowak, who leads field operations at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

NYT: Hamas Tunnel Under Gazan Hospital ‘One of the War’s Biggest Rorschach Tests’

10th June 2025

Read it.

The New York Times confirmed Sunday that Hamas operated a tunnel beneath the European Gaza Hospital weeks after casting doubt on its existence. Instead of condemning Hamas for using a hospital as a terror base, however, the paper framed the tunnel as a matter of clashing narratives.

“What we saw in that dark and narrow tunnel is one of the war’s biggest Rorschach tests,” Times reporter Patrick Kingsley wrote in a Sunday article after touring the site, calling it “the embodiment of a broader narrative battle between Israelis and Palestinians over how the conflict should be portrayed.”

“To Israelis, the location of an underground passageway highlights Hamas’s abuse of civilians,” the article’s subheading reads. “To Palestinians, Israel’s decision to target it highlights Israel’s own disregard for civilian life.”

The Times last month cast doubt on the tunnel’s existence, quoting the hospital’s director as saying such a tunnel was unlikely. Two weeks later, Muhammad Sinwar—the de facto leader of Hamas and younger brother of slain October 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar—was killed inside the tunnel, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

While the left-leaning paper confirmed the tunnel’s existence on Sunday, it cited a hospital spokesman lamenting that “Israel should have found other ways to eliminate any wanted commander.”

“Call me crazy, but I think Dem politicians in LA publicly encouraging riots helps explain why they’re also incapable of issuing building permits for the fires months ago.” —Mark Hemingway

And pretty soon, expect action in a dozen other states, you can be sure, because just as it was in the scorpion’s nature to sting the frog crossing the river in the old parable, it is likewise in the Party of Chaos’s nature to sow chaos in an American summer.

The operation to cue riots over the removal of illegal immigrants has been well-planned in advance. Chief lawfare artists Norm Eisen and Mary McCord have engineered the legal strategy to oppose enforcement of US immigration law. They will clog the courts with lawsuits to prevent it and enlist their allied federal judges to issue injunction after injunction paralyzing the deportation process. They will work day and night to get their violent street cadres out of jail, just as they did in the 2020 George Floyd riots, so that these mutts can go back into the streets to loot and burn some more.

The Posse Comitatus Act Explained

9th June 2025

Read it.

The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty. However, recent events have revealed dangerous gaps in the law’s coverage that Congress must address.

I suspect the author to be of the progressive persuasion, if not an actual Trump-hater. But this is the only useful discussion of the Act that I could find, and people need to know about it.

Couple Steal Back Their £46k Car After ‘Police Fail to Act’

9th June 2025

Daily Record (UK).

A stunned couple were forced to steal back their own Jaguar after police told them they couldn’t offer immediate help.

Mia Forbes Pirie, 48, and partner Mark Simpson, 62, were shocked when they discovered their £46,000 Jaguar E-Pace had vanished from outside their Brook Green home In West London on Wednesday morning, reports the Mirror.

The pair had fitted the SUV with an Apple Airtag, allowing them to trace it to a street in Chiswick by 10.30am. However, after calling 999 they were not able to confirm when police would investigate.

With no help on the horizon, the furious couple decided to take matters into their own hands. Mark said he was “nervous” as he and Ms Forbes Pirie made the four-mile journey to the car’s new location.

They discovered the car abandoned on a quiet back street, with the carpets and interior stripped by thieves who had attempted to access its wiring.

The car was also fitted with a ‘ghost immobiliser – an ant-theft device that prevents the car from starting unless a specific sequence of buttons is pressed on the dashboard.

Ther pair, both legal professionals, made the decision to install multiple layers of security after a previous car theft. The last AirTag signal had gone off outside their home at around 3.20am, suggesting the car was likely taken overnight.

Neighbours then reported hearing unusual noises during the night. Mia and Mark believe the theft was “reasonably sophisticated” and likely involved a tow or flatbed truck.

It is cold comfort to realize that the UK is worse than the US … for now. But for how long? It would not surpriseme to have something like this happen in New York or L.A. or Chicago or Detroit or San Francisco.

Who Organized the LA Anti-ICE Protests That Escalated Into Riots?

9th June 2025

The Foundry.

When anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agitators took to the streets in the Los Angeles area over the weekend attacking officers, setting cars on fire, and looting, they drew attention to the left-leaning activist groups that may have helped instigate the riots.

Three major organizations have come under increased scrutiny: the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles; the Party for Socialism and Liberation; and the Service Employees International Union. One of these groups, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles, has received millions in government funding.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Los Angeles forms part of the LA Rapid Response Network, a group of organizations in Southern California that aim to monitor and counter ICE activity. The coalition has denied playing any role in the protests and the riots, but it helped organize protests before the weekend, and it has called protesters to action on behalf of David Huerta, president of the SEIU’s California chapter.

Washington’s Wager on Religious Liberty

9th June 2025

The American Mind.

With 235 years of hindsight, we can see that Washington was making a threefold wager: he bet that believers would, despite religious differences, obey the law and act loyally toward the United States. Washington also bet that should differences of religious opinion spill over into illegal conduct or violent conflict, the government, operating with the united force of its citizens, would restore peace and enforce the law. Finally, in keeping with Masonic and Enlightenment notions of a just and merciful God, he wagered (very differently from Pascal) that God would not punish Americans for failing to uphold true religion against its false, fraudulent, or heretical competitors.

What are the challenges posed to Washington’s triple wager today?

As we approach a quarter century since 9/11, Muslim supremacist organizations are more active and more powerful in America than ever before. According to the vigilant observers at the Middle East Forum, they have built effective and occasionally murderous alliances with non-Muslim leftist activists.

As we all know, since October 7, 2023, American campuses have been convulsed by demonstrations in favor of or opposing Israel’s war against Hamas, a Palestinian outgrowth of the worldwide Islamist Muslim Brotherhood movement. The anti-Israel demonstrations have in many places violated criminal laws against trespass and vandalism, and civil rights laws that require schools to prevent hostile environments for Jewish and Israeli students. Until January 20, 2025, these demonstrations went largely unhindered—as Senator Chuck Schumer reportedly told Columbia University officials, only Republicans were concerned about anti-Semitism on campus.

Islam is an oppressive totalitarian ideology, masquerading as a religion, with which no co-existence is possible.

That Was Quick: Democrats Postpone ‘Sista Soulja Moment’ to Defend Illegal Immigrants and Rioters Waving Mexicans Flags on Burning Cars

9th June 2025

Washington Free Beacon.

Most Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants and crack down on the violent protests that erupted in Los Angeles over the weekend in response to immigration raids. Doing what comes naturally, elected Democrats rallied in opposition to Trump’s popular agenda as hooligans threw bricks at police officers, ransacked local shops, set fire to cars, and spit on American flags (while waving Mexicans flags).

So much for the Democratic Party’s short-lived efforts to rebrand as a no-nonsense party capable of understanding the concerns of normal Americans.

They ought to have known it wouldn’t work. Too much scorpion to live with the frog.

How We Came to Be Ruled by Death Eaters

9th June 2025

Read it.

There are two primary methods of coercion used to enforce societal norms. The most visible is hard coercion, apparent in militias and police as well as courts, prisons, and institutional force of all kinds. The far more powerful form, without which the hard coercion would not be tolerated, is seductive coercion.

Seductive coercion comes in two forms. The first is used to create society and involves social acceptance and approval as motivators. This form of seductive coercion produces love, loyalty, and other forms of social bonding.

The second form is used to create hate and enmity and to reject another society, go to war against them or persecute them in another way. This form of coercion uses group affiliation, fear, dehumanizing propaganda and dissociation.

Insurrection, LA style

9th June 2025

The New Neo.

This is the way it goes.

First you realize that summer is coming, and it’s the best season for riots. Next, you prepare the ground by choosing your favored cause, and make sure the MSM misrepresents it properly. Protecting criminal illegal aliens and opposing their arrest and deportation is a cause that’s a mite tricky to convince people to rally around. But after all, you don’t just want disruption and chaos – although you do indeed want that – but you also want the ordinary Democrat voter and even a few Independents to be sympathetic to your side. If the MSM does its job the way you want, they have delivered the message over and over that ICE is deporting ordinary illegal aliens (you call them “undocumented workers,” of course) and not dangerous people or criminals.

Once that’s done, you organize the riots. There’s no dearth of people willing to riot for money and/or for fun and/or for the leftist cause du jour. The venue is a blue city in a blue state, so that the mayor and governor won’t rein you in very much or very hard, if at all.

Brown skins rather than brown shirts, but it’s still the same old play-book.

Spate of Stabbings Marks Violent Weekend in Germany

9th June 2025

Read it.

The disturbing trend of knife violence continues in Germany, with several attacks with bladed weapons over the weekend injuring a number of people.

In Munich, a 30-year-old woman attacked members of the public at the location of an Oktoberfest celebration. While her two victims were treated for minor injuries, the attacker was shot by police and taken to hospital where she died of her injuries.

Two separate knife attacks occurred in Berlin early Saturday. In Hellersdorf, a 35-year-old man was injured during an attempted robbery. In Wedding, a bar altercation ended with a 38-year-old man stabbed in the stomach. Both victims were hospitalised, and police are investigating.

On Sunday, a 40-year-old man reportedly bought a knife and a pair of scissors in a Lichtenberg, Berlin, supermarket, and attacked a 22-year-old after leaving the shop. He then went on to stab a 66-year-old a few paces further away, inflicting life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled—only to be arrested later—while the victim underwent emergency surgery in hospital.

None of the attacks appear to be directly related, aside from the growing levels of violence in European cities. In all cases, to date, the attackers’ motives have been described as ‘unclear.’

Wisconsin law excuses religious organizations that are “operated, supervised, controlled, or principally supported by a church or convention or association of churches” from paying state unemployment tax.

Temporarily Successful Paupers

9th June 2025

ZMan points the finger.

The most vexing problem of the current crisis for most people is why nothing gets done to address the known issues when the solutions are fairly obvious. On the one hand, there is an industry that exists to explain why the politics of each issue is such that the right answer can never be considered. On the other hand, there is libertarianism and conservatism that offer escape from the reality of the problem. These are the people who start every sentence with “all we need to do is…”

The corruption and escapism surrounding the question of why the issues that plague the country are never addressed are not explanations. They are part of the set of things that are caused by the core issue. We have gotten a hint of this in the first months of Trump’s second attempt at the wheel. He simply did things, like void longstanding executive orders on affirmative action. Suddenly, a man with the will to act was acting on a problem of politics, and the problem stopped being a problem.

What the first months of the new Trump term show is that leaders can simply act, and their actions can change the rules of the system. The racial rackets are suddenly in crisis because one man signed his name on some paper. We are seeing the same thing with immigration, where the political center is now speeding so quickly in the direction of the patriotic position that people are struggling to keep pace. It is as if there is a revolution going on in elite opinion.

Government-Sponsored Insurrection [Updated Again With Mexican Flags]

The insurrection against federal authority in Los Angeles continues. As always, when confronted with a well-organized and well-funded riot, the most pertinent question is: who is behind it? In this case, a significant part of the answer is a non-profit called the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, or CHIRLA.

“The Show Is Over”: Israel Stops Greta’s Stunt Ship to Gaza

9th June 2025

Read it.

Israeli forces stopped Greta Thunberg and her crew on board the Madleen from reaching Gaza on Monday—just as they had promised to do in the hope of deterring future stunts—seizing the vessel and preparing to send the activists back home.

The group set out from Italy at the beginning of June, intending to distribute aid among Palestinians—though, as critics pointed out, they barely had enough to feed a dozen people. After seizing the boat, Israel’s foreign ministry announced that “the tiny amount of aid that was on the yacht and not consumed by the ‘celebrities’ will be transferred to Gaza through real humanitarian channels.”

Give them to Hamas and see how it feels to be a hostage of Muslim terrorists.

Blasphemy Laws Are Returning To Europe

9th June 2025

Read it.

In February this year, a man was viciously attacked outside the Turkish Consulate in London for burning a copy of the Quran. Fifty-year-old Hamit Coskun was assaulted by a random passerby, who appeared to slash at Coskun with a knife. When Coskun fell to the ground, the man reportedly kicked him, spat on him, and threatened to kill him. Incredibly, a second man—who looked to be a food delivery rider on a bicycle—also stopped to give Coskun a kick while he was on the ground.

The first trial relating to this case came to a close this week. Only it was not Coskun’s attackers who are being convicted for any crime right now—their time in court is still to come. Rather, it was Coskun himself who was guilty of a “religiously motivated public order offence.”

On Monday, district judge John McGarva convicted Coskun under the ACT at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. The judge determined that Coskun’s actions were “highly provocative” and motivated, at least in part, by a supposed “deep-seated hatred of Islam and its followers.” Coskun was fined £240, with an additional statutory surcharge of £96.

“We’ll Do It Ourselves!” Dutch Vigilantes Stop Cars at German Border in Protest Over Illegal Migration

9th June 2025

Read it.

A group of Dutch citizens staged an unauthorized border control operation this weekend between Ter Apel and the German village of Rütenbrock, citing frustration with what they describe as uncontrolled illegal immigration.

Wearing reflective clothing and wielding torches, the group of around 12 men began stopping vehicles on Saturday evening along the N366, a key route between Germany and the Netherlands.

The vigilantes, who pulled cars over and even inspected trunks, say they took action because authorities are failing to secure the border and stem the flow of asylum seekers entering the country. “Nothing is happening. Then we’ll do it ourselves,” said one activist, as cited by Algemeen Dagblad.

The primary job of government is the safety of its people. When government refuses to do that job, citizens have to do it themselves.

Paul Krugman Couldn’t Smell ‘Corruption’ If It Rolled Over and Died in Front of Him

9th June 2025

Newsbusters.

The same deranged, former columnist for The New York Times who spent years praising President Joe Biden as the best thing since sliced bread is now trying to sound the alarm on so-called “corruption” within the Trump administration.

Did Krugman forget that the internet he claimed in 2005 wouldn’t really amount to anything still exists? Krugman is literally on record calling Biden in 2024 “the best president of my adult life” just months before CNN anchor Jake Tapper released his book confirming what anyone with eyes knew about the corrupt cabal that covered up the former president’s cognitive decline for years.

But now Krugman is supposedly ready to convince everyone he knows what “corruption” smells like, right? In comparing Republicans to Democrats, Krugman actually had the nerve to put in writing that “[y]ou don’t have to love the Democratic Party to recognize that it does, in fact, expel politicians who engage in egregious corruption.” Talk about writing while under the influence! We say this politely to Paul, with tears in our eyes: Gag us with a spoon!

Israel Seizes Greta Thunberg Activists’ Boat Before Reaching Gaza

9th June 2025

Read it.

Israeli forces seized a Gaza-bound aid boat and detained Greta Thunberg and other activists who were on board early Monday, enforcing a longstanding blockade of the Palestinian territory that has been tightened during the war with Hamas.

The activists had set out to protest Israel’s ongoing military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which is among the deadliest and most destructive since World War II, and its restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, both of which have put the territory of some 2 million Palestinians at risk of famine.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which had organized the voyage, said the activists were “kidnapped by Israeli forces” while trying to deliver desperately needed aid to the territory.

While the West Cries Islamophobia, Sexual Slavery Continues Unchecked

8th June 2025

Read it.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel. They murdered 1,200 people, burned families alive, and wounded over 5,000. They tortured and raped women, and abducted roughly 250 hostages, including babies, children and women, many of whom were later killed.

The world watched in horror, shocked by the astonishing brutality. But this was not the first instance of jihadists kidnapping and enslaving Jewish women and families. In fact, the first victims of Islamic sexual slavery were Jewish women and girls in Arabia during the seventh century.

Arab Muslims’ first military target was Arabia, which was then home to a thriving Jewish community. For almost a thousand years, Jews had lived in the Arabian Peninsula’s oases of Teyma, Khaybar, and Yathrib (later known as Medina).

Islam’s treatment of Jews was violent and annihilationist from the start. Muhammed eliminated the Jewish tribes of Medina, namely the Banu Qaynuqa, Banu Nadir, and Banu Qurayza tribes.

Meet the Companies Helping to Trans Kids and Hide It from Parents

8th June 2025

Read it.

In these last two years, the march to pull companies back to neutral has outperformed everyone’s expectations. But in this process of rolling back decades of corporate wokeism, one thing is clear: this isn’t over. No matter how much success conservatives have, not everyone will go quietly. When it comes to LGBTQ activism, some businesses are playing for keeps.

While most of this week’s coverage seems to be about who isn’t joining the parade, there’s a proud contingent of CEOs who have no intentions of backing off their radicalism. To those who would shrug and say, “It’s just a few splashy logos. What’s the big deal?” the reality is much more sinister. This isn’t about slapping a few Progress flags outside headquarters or queering the Sesame Street puppets. It’s about financing a dangerous enterprise to keep children in bondage and parents in the dark.

The corporate darling of this year’s celebration, The Trevor Group, isn’t just another rah-rah LGBTQ crusader. Billed as a youth suicide prevention organization, one look under the hood shows that this group is anything but uncontroversial. And yet, sponsors are lining up to finance the group—to the tune of millions of dollars. The heavy-hitters, who are giving upwards of six-figure donations, are mostly familiar names: Macy’s, Petco, Abercrombie & Fitch, Pure Vida, Guess Watches, Kohl’s, Lululemon, MAC Cosmetics, and a collection of lesser-known brands.

Israel Reveals Tunnel Under Gaza Hospital, Says Body of Sinwar’s Brother Found There

8th June 2025

Read it.

The Israeli army said on Sunday it had retrieved the body of Hamas’ military chief Mohammed Sinwar in an underground tunnel beneath a hospital in southern Gaza, following a targeted operation last month.

Another senior Hamas leader, Mohammad Shabana, commander of the Rafah Brigade, was also found dead at the scene along with a number of other militants, who are still being identified, said IDF spokesperson, Brigadier General Effie Defrin.

Israeli forces gave a small group of foreign reporters a tour of the tunnel that had been uncovered beneath the European Hospital in Khan Younis, which Defrin said was a major command and control compound for Hamas.

A rather direct illustration of how Hamas and other Muslim terrorists use schools, hospitals, and mosques as ‘human shields’ in their activities, then whine and moan if they are attacked.

When Diversity Divides

8th June 2025

Read it.

When it was recently reported that protesters disrupted Columbia University’s graduation ceremony, one might ask: which one?

In addition to its main commencement, Columbia hosts no fewer than 10 separate graduation ceremonies, often referred to as affinity graduations. These include distinct events for black, Latino, Asian, LGBTQIA+, Jewish, native, international, disabled, and first-generation/low-income students.

While Columbia claims that it has a “long history” of offering race-based and other segregated graduation ceremonies, this practice only dates back to 2005.

To put this in perspective, Columbia was founded in 1754. For more than 250 years, the university held a single, unified commencement ceremony for all graduates, celebrating their shared academic achievements without division by race, ethnicity, or gender identity.

Harvard Is the Enemy

8th June 2025

The Foundry.

During his 2024 campaign, President Donald Trump correctly assailed elite universities like Harvard as controlled by “Marxist maniacs and lunatics.” He received a popular mandate to take them down. They deserve it.

The bill of indictment against Harvard is long. It is teaching students to hate America, to become modern-day Benedict Arnolds. It is teaching students to love Hamas and terrorists. It is instructing students to provide them with material assistance—a federal crime. It is promoting antisemitism, hatred of Israel, and the canard of a genocide in Gaza.

The president of Harvard, Alan Garber, has repeatedly acknowledged an epidemic of antisemitism at the university: “It is present on our campus. I have experienced antisemitism directly, even while serving as president, and I know how damaging it can be to a student who has come to learn and make friends at a college or university.”

Bank Connected to Left Wing Billionaire Giving Loans to Illegal Immigrants to Fight “Systemic Racism”

8th June 2025

Read it.

A bank connected to leftwing billionaire Tom Steyer is giving loans to illegal immigrants using a financial loophole—claiming it’s a way to fight “systemic racism”, according to the Daily Wire.

Beneficial State Bank, based in Oakland, California, offers loans to immigrants without legal status by using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) instead of Social Security numbers.

The bank says this is part of its mission to promote fairness. “Beneficial State Bank is committed to addressing financial inequalities that disproportionately affect communities of color, a result of centuries of systemic racism,” the bank said in its 2022 impact report.

“A key initiative is lending to immigrant customers who may not have Social Security numbers but possess Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers.” In 2022, it issued $25 million in auto loans to 707 ITIN borrowers

The Daily Wire writes that in 2023, the bank continued to push this strategy. “Because many financial institutions require social security numbers, people without them, such as recent immigrants to the United States, can face barriers to qualifying for the loan they need to purchase a car,” the report reads.

Tensions Erupt in Congress Over Vote to Condemn Boulder Attack

8th June 2025

Axios, a Voice of the Crust.

What would otherwise be an uncontroversial congressional vote to denounce the Boulder attack is devolving into a contentious partisan feud, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: Language praising ICE and labeling “Free Palestine” an “antisemitic slogan” are sparking fury from some Democrats, who see the provisions as a GOP maneuver to force them into a difficult vote.
  • “It’s sheer politics,” said one senior House Democrat, speaking on the condition of anonymity to offer candid thoughts about a sensitive vote.
  • A second senior House Democrat told Axios: “It’s unfortunate that they’re using a serious antisemitic terrorist attack as a wedge opportunity to divide Democrats. They knew what they were doing adding something like that in there.”
  • “Nice little catch to put Democrats on the board,” vented a third House Democrat.

Quotation of the Day

8th June 2025

ZMan:

Something I did not cover in the show, but will probably be an issue this week, is the role of the usual suspects in the Los Angeles riots. Mike Benz has been posting about the fact that the National Endowment for Democracy has tentacles in these riots. Karen Bass, the Los Angeles mayor, was a long-serving member of the board of directors at NED. When she was in Congress, she was on a committee that oversaw the organization.

This is how the regime operates. It has access to hundreds of billions of dollars it uses to place its people in key posts inside the administrative state and get its friends elected. This is why it is impossible to cut a cent of spending from the budget. Instead of starting a race war, this time they are hoping to create a legume rebellion. This time, it seems that the Trump admin is prepared and maybe even let the Los Angeles thing play-out so they had a reason to go hard on it.

California’s Oligarchy

8th June 2025

Read it.

“It is an American oligarchy,” Gov. Gavin Newsom accused the Trump administration.

But it’s California’s Democrat elite who much more closely resemble an oligarchy. Take Gov. Newsom, the son of Judge William Alfred Newsom III a friend and lawyer of the Getty clan, whose father Newsom II had been a crooked political machine man who financed and ran future Gov. Pat Brown’s campaign. Gov. Pat Brown held down two terms in office. His son, Gov. Jerry Brown also held two terms and his daughter, Kathleen Brown became the State Treasurer.

Newsom II’s daughter, Barbara Newsom-Pelosi, married Ron Pelosi, the brother of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for twelve years. Newsom III, Gavin’s dad, and Ron Pelosi both ran for state senate. And Rep. Nancy Pelosi is the daughter of Thomas D’Alesandro Jr, a congressman and the 41st mayor of Baltimore and the sister of Thomas D’Alesandro III, the 44th mayor of Baltimore.

The Newsom-Pelosi families made a good deal of their money from a crooked arrangement with Gov. Pat Brown’s administration in which Newsom II and John Pelosi, Nancy’s father-in-law, partnered together on a former 1960 Winter Olympics site that was summed up as California “paying for everything and getting nothing.” Pat’s son Jerry then appointed Gavin’s father to a judgeship and Gavin later replaced Brown as governor of California.

Why Would an ‘Independent Fact Checker’ Use the Term ‘Gender-Affirming Care’?

8th June 2025

Newsbusters.

One easy test of whether a media outlet is truly “fact-based” is the claims and lingo of transgender advocates. That goes double for “independent fact-checkers.” If you call hormone blockers or amputation surgeries “gender-affirming care,” then you are using the fact-mangling rhetoric of activists, not caring for facts. These types of “care” are clearly denying the actual and factual gender. It’s like using the term “life-saving abortion.”

Wood Pellets: America’s Underrated Power Play

8th June 2025

Read it.

In an energy conversation dominated by buzzwords and breakthroughs, it’s easy to overlook the quiet, proven solutions that are already delivering results. Exhibit A: wood pellets.

These compact cylinders aren’t flashy or trend on social media. For the uninitiated, they are carriers of renewable carbon and energy, sourced from responsibly managed forests; a real, scalable, domestic resource that delivers energy security, climate value, and rural jobs while sustaining and growing forests. Wood pellets are emerging as one of the smartest plays in America’s energy and climate portfolio.

Kash Patel Announces New Discovery That Could Finally Take Fauci Down

8th June 2025

Read it.

FBI Director Kash Patel sat down with Joe Rogan in Austin, Texas, where he dropped a series of revelations about the Bureau’s ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, including a promise to release jail cell surveillance footage and newly uncovered evidence that could implicate Anthony Fauci.

During Trump’s first term, Patel was in charge of counterterrorism for the White House and National Security Council. In that role, he helped lead one of the administration’s most overlooked achievements.

“Hostages, we can talk about that forever too,” Patel said. “Counterterrorism was a big portfolio, I ran it for the White House and National Security Council in the first Trump administration.”

Then he dropped the number: “We brought home—people don’t know this—President Trump in his first term, brought home and rescued over 50 hostages and detainees from around the world.” He added, “That’s more than every president before him combined.”

What Is a Virtual Reed Calligraphy Pen, Coming to iPadOS 26?

8th June 2025

Read it.

Among the many iPadOS 26 features Apple plans to unveil at WWDC next week, one curious addition stands out: Apple Pencil reed calligraphy, as reported by Bloomberg. But what does that actually mean?

Last year, Apple introduced the Apple Pencil Pro, bringing squeeze gestures, barrel roll detection, and haptic feedback to its stylus lineup for the first time. Now, with iPadOS 26, it’s pairing those hardware upgrades with a new software feature that’s bound to resonate with Arabic users and calligraphy enthusiasts everywhere.

A few weeks ago, Mark Gurman reported on his Power On newsletter that Apple had “been expanding its retail footprint” in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and India, and that Apple was on track to announce two features that would please users in those regions.

Cysteine Depletion Triggers Adipose Tissue Thermogenesis and Weight Loss

8th June 2025

Read it.

Caloric restriction and methionine restriction-driven enhanced lifespan and healthspan induces ‘browning’ of white adipose tissue, a metabolic response that increases heat production to defend core body temperature. However, how specific dietary amino acids control adipose thermogenesis is unknown. Here, we identified that weight loss induced by caloric restriction in humans reduces thiol-containing sulfur amino acid cysteine in white adipose tissue. Systemic cysteine depletion in mice causes lethal weight loss with increased fat utilization and browning of adipocytes that is rescued upon restoration of cysteine in diet. Mechanistically, cysteine-restriction-induced adipose browning and weight loss requires sympathetic nervous system-derived noradrenaline signalling via ?3-adrenergic-receptors that is independent of FGF21 and UCP1. In obese mice, cysteine deprivation induced rapid adipose browning, increased energy expenditure leading to 30% weight loss and reversed metabolic inflammation. These findings establish that cysteine is essential for organismal metabolism as removal of cysteine in the host triggers adipose browning and rapid weight loss.
