It would be a stretch even for Jen Psaki to connect the collapse of the Ghani Administration to the retreat of glacial ice cover in the Hindu Kush, and from there to Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accords.

It was obvious to any sentient observer in 2020. In defending himself on Afghanistan, Joe Biden fumbled his words, made weird comments and generally didn’t seem up to the job of being president. And the media pretended there was nothing to see. This week Newsmax host Greg Kelly took the problem head on from a media perspective.

Afghanistan, Kelly observed with accompanying quite vivid video, “is a full blown disaster.” Which is most decidedly true.

After a video montage of Biden doing his bizarre kissing and hair-smelling routines, Kelly zeroed in again on Biden’s competence — and the media.

In yet another recent sign that Joe Biden is losing the support of much of the liberal media due to the debacle caused by his enormous mishandling of the exit from Afghanistan, the Los Angeles Times has now revealed the real purpose of a new War Room set up at the White House.

Now, you would think that such a War Room would be for planning the rescue of American citizens and Afghans who worked for the United States from the clutches of the Taliban, right? Wrong.

Saturday’s Times revealed the true purpose of the White House War Room in “Biden focuses on domestic agenda, even as hot spots flare up elsewhere.”

Afghan national Gholan Ruhani maintained his innocence after coalition forces captured him alongside a drug-trafficking militia commander and tossed him in the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Ruhani, represented by white shoe lawyer Rebecca Dick, said he was “a simple shopkeeper who helped Americans.”

Not quite. Days ago, Al Jazeera news captured Ruhani with fellow Taliban militants in the presidential palace in Kabul, as they announced the formation of an Islamic emirate. Ruhani, who cradled a machine gun, recited from the Quran and spoke of his time at Guantanamo.

Dick, then a top-flight attorney at Dechert LLP, represented Ruhani and advocated for his repatriation to Afghanistan. She said in a 2008 interview that her clients were not extremists.

“None expresses any interest in harming the U.S.,” she said. “Most affirmatively express support for the Karzai government; the others simply do not want to think about or discuss politics.”

It comes as no surprise that Muslims lie, nor that dimwitted Americans buy their bullshit.

The United States’ military mission in Afghanistan has collapsed in chaos and ignominy. The catastrophe has many parents. But surely “the experts” upon which our leader relied bear much blame.

They were the ones who often failed to comprehend the power of religious belief and the role pride in Islam played in the Taliban’s unyielding commitment to victory. They were the ones who thought we could remake Afghanistan into a western liberal image. They were the ones who failed to comprehend the intractable tribal nature of Afghan society.

To say the least, Afghanistan has vividly exposed the utter stupidity of our vaunted foreign policy and national security experts. Our hapless Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, for example, assured us that Kabul would not fall from “Friday to Monday.” He was right. It fell from Friday to Sunday.

There’s not much to say that hasn’t already been said regarding Biden’s unconditional surrender to the Taliban, and it’s only the first week. Bookshelves will be filled with analyses of these events, and we won’t understand their full ramifications for decades. My two cents, for what they’re worth, are that the left doesn’t consider the fall of Kabul and the betrayal of our allies to be a tragedy. Rather, this is deliberate foreign policy strategy, and it’s right on track.

The pattern is clear for those who wish to see. Simply put, the left thinks America is not only evil but irredeemably so. Hence, any policy, be it foreign or domestic, that weakens our nation-state should be pursued, the goal being that the nation-state will eventually corrode to the point of collapse. They don’t care that the hollowed-out dystopia will be long past its desirability for subjugation, so long as they get to be in charge. As Lord Varys said of Littlefinger, “He would see this country burn if he could be king of the ashes”.

To reign is worth ambition, though in Hell;
Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.

Today just about every part of this plan is illegal, culturally unacceptable, and economically unwieldy in most locations. These basement homes are too small to be approved by local authorities. Minimum square footage requirements have been put in place to filter out the riffraff who can’t afford larger homes. Most municipal codes insist on two off street covered parking spaces which, in this case, would be the same size and likely the same cost as the homes themselves. Growing vegetables on what should be a lawn is verboten in many locations, if not by the government than by private association bylaws. And building anything in stages is frowned upon since the present custom is to create a finished product all at once and never change any part of it without interacting with a host of special committees and review boards. I have no doubt that the four children, now in their 70s and 80s, who spent their early years in the basement house would never tolerate such activity in their own neighborhoods today. It’s just too trashy and sets the wrong tone.

The Left desperately needs to convert your children. While the Right is open to children and supportive of large families, the Left is increasingly anti-childbirth (“Want to fight climate change? They are working hard at this conversion project everywhere. Leftism is rampant in public schools, of course, but also in many private schools, religious institutions, youth programs, social media, movies, advertisements, music, billboards, and likely even in the minds of your kids’ friends.

How can parents protect their children against this all-consuming indoctrination? In a hostile society, one of the most viable options is homeschooling—as a lifestyle. Homeschooling makes parents into their children’s primary educators, as they should be. Hence homeschooling grows ever more popular as the Left grows ever more aggressive.

Most government schools these days have degenerated into taxpayer-funded babysitting services in which very little education (but a lot of indoctrination) takes place.

In the real world we learn that the stain won’t go on evenly (I will finally have an actually, for real workshop) despite your best efforts, and then you have to fix; that the bookcase you built should take that dictionary, but in fact it just collapsed, that….

All of which… leads to where we are. There’s a group of people who can’t find the real world with two hands and a seeing eye dog. And they hate, despise and fear those who can, because those people refuse to fall in with the beautiful abstractions of the shit-spinners.

And they keep trying to control everything. Partly because then reality can’t sucker punch them, I think.

If we let them go on with this, they’ll kill us and destroy civilization.

It reminds me of something Ed Dutton said about the sorts of people drawn to things like anti-fascism. They have disorganized, chaotic minds and need the structure of religion to focus their energy onto something useful. When religion faded, what replaced it was ideology, which focuses their energy on their fellow citizens, who they see as enemies of their new faith. The same impulses that gave us cathedrals now gives us mobs tearing down statues hoping for some grace.

This coincides with the fact that western man started getting dumber around the same time that Christianity started to fade. The intellectual history since that point has been about finding a suitable replacement. The body count suggests we were better off with the old gods. The search for new gods has been a disaster. This current search will no doubt lead to tears. Perhaps the right answer will be that we pick a form of Christianity and make it the basis of a theocracy.

At the moment in the U.S., Afghans are not eligible for affirmative action, being classified by the Office of Management and Budget as one of the white peoples of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East; in contrast, their cousins from just east of the Khyber Pass in Pakistan, are officially Asians and thus eligible for racial preferences on government contracts and low interest Small Business Administration minority development loans.

In January 2017, the lame duck Obama Administration tried to start the process of rectifying this grave injustice that there are Third World immigrants who aren’t legally privileged over white Americans by creating the Middle Eastern and North African race category. But the Trump Administration couldn’t see why they would want to do that, so they let the Obama plan lapse.
